@CycloneThat can definitely happen, but you'd have to make the first move or do something to get their attention, as they are very isolationist. It would take some convincing to get them to interact with other nations, as well as accepting another nations assistance. However, if you did, they'd make very good allies and they'd never forget the debt that they owe to you if you succeeded in getting their mountain back.

@Hael Did I mention we have Owl-Griffins, cause we've got Owl Griffins.

@Raijinslayer
How would the Silme feel about this though? Are the Khoren like the Navari in that they aren't really allowed to do their own things and directly speak to other nations?

@CycloneThe Khoren have more freedom and are actually kind of ignored since they don't really do anything. They keep to themselves in their mountains and tend not to make too much ruckus. The Silme would be suspicious, sure, but they probably wouldn't think anything is going on due to the fact the Khoren just seems to have a lack of interest in everything not directly related to them. The only thing that the Khoren have shown to be highly active about is getting back there Mountain, but you have to wonder, is that the only thing they care about, or is there more going on behind the scenes?

Post is up.

Out of curiosity, what time zones do most of you guys live in?

I'm in GMT-5, which seems to be quite different from the rest of you.

Any "differences in culture" that make wearing a skull above your crotch acceptable are way to big to be ignored.

Congrats, Willy, your weirdo-King has made diplomacy with the elves impossible
Those are proud Griffin skulls. Don't dare to look down on them!

Also luckily to you that outfit is the Emperor's "casual clothes".
Do you wish to see what he wears for religious occasions?

I would also like to propose that we could try a roleplay-wide game of this:

http://www.playdiplomacy.com/

I feel like it would meld really well with this RP as a side thing.

The wearing of normal robes does not make up for taking 20 hours to say "Thankyou all for coming. May the gods bless us and keep us, amen. Now, where did I put my crotch-skull?"

I'm mildly interested. Is that some kind of multiplayer nation strategy game, like EU4 or Total War?

In other news, I'm halfway through the first part of my post. Thus far I have described the Sultanate's capital and its history in a flowery and rather thorough way. Elf style. Babur is going to arrive back at home, get settled in, and promptly start responding to the stuff going on in KalMea and Avalia.

...and meanwhile the people over in the Zanjir will be going crazy, as the second part of my post.

I hereby decree that we use the term "Elf style" everytime someone uses an excess of flowery language

@Hael

But then for fear of being an elf, I'll have to stop spending paragraphs describing mundane stuff like how warm it is over in Tin. And then what would I write about? Stuff of actual substance? Pfft.

Hey, don't look at me: I spent two paragraphs describing how pretty the beach was just before a storm.

But it was just, like, so pretty you guys.

It's the online version of a board game that centers around the First World War. You can play as one of the seven main powers. But the critical aspect of the game is that you cannot win without cooperating with someone, and there are no concrete alliances that you cannot break. All the orders are resolved at the same time (unlike something like Risk) so you have no idea what anyone else is going to do. Hence why the game is called Diplomacy. It's very simple and requires little time to play, but the negotiating about troop movements and such is what makes it incredibly interesting.

So is there a way that we would be able to change the map to be one for Osetia as I think you're suggesting? Or would we have to go with Tin=Ottoman Empire and stuff like someone (I think it was you?) did on that map?

@Hael

*Cossack walks up and starts beating you with club*

"YOU ARRESTED!"

*chugs bottle of vodka then resumes hitting with club*

"Because you been accused of going 'elf style'!"

*sends Hael to gulag*
