[OOC] Let's Go Run A Bakery~!

In Fukushima, near the Fukushima Public High School, lies a humble little bakery under the name of Le Patseur. It's just opened and the manager is looking for help! If you have what it takes to come along then come and sign up for a job! Madame Lilacflour wants your help! If you have ANY cooking experiences then come in! Don't worry, even if you can't cook then we will help you! So sign up! Go for a job, have fun in our little Bakery! We are willing for anyone to try out!

Plot

In the city of Fukushima, 2015. near the shopping district lies Le Pastuer, a recently opened bakery full of wonderful cakes and pastries. The lady who works there Madame Lilacflour, is a first timer at running a business she had no idea to recruit workers. So she decided to put a sign on the door saying "help wanted". A pair of twins from the nearby high school was walking home and saw the sign. "Hey let's check it out!" one of them said and possibly unwillingly dragged the other with them.

Madame Lilacflour was skeptical about having highschoolers helping her but it couldn't be too hard now could it?

She would only allow them to work there under the circumstances of that she would teach them how to bake the foods. One of them failed miserably while the other did everything perfectly. Soon the other twin soon gained experience and was not almost on par with the other. At school they would advertise the Bakery and thus more people signed up! Now this Bakery is popular and well known around Fukushima. With the Bakery established and ready to go, our little bakery will need to go on after such a long journey.

One little thing though, you'd think that after being together with Madame Lilacflour, we'd be able to see something strange about her? Yeah no. We soon found out that Madame Lilacflour is actually a freaking sorceress. That explains why she never burns everything. How does that affect anything? Well it doesn't. Maybe. Sorta. Kinda.

Who knows, maybe something will happen with her magical abilities.

Story

Well there really is none. Just a bunch of mini-plots. However there will be a story for everyone to work with somehow... Anyways, sometimes there might some random events happening with everyone and I'll try to manage it as best as I can... Well I think that's it.... Oh right! It's at the beginning of the year right after the New Year’s Festival!

There will be times were major events happen, I will warn you all about it! Also there will be a public pool event, that everyone will attend. Timeskips are inevitable though.

Rules

NO GODMODDING! That is just one thing I want people to keep in mind!

No making fun, teasing and any negative comments to anyone in OOC.

Considering the anime vibe to this, try to keep realism at a reasonable place, meaning have at least some of it. So don't have a cake, baked perfectly, legitimately kill someone. Please don't throw someone in the oven and make them come out fine, at least make them feel a tad burnt. Breaking the forth wall is fine though.

I'm might change this rule a bit every now and again, but if you don't post in week of your last post then I shall kick you out with no hesitation.

This rule is something I will be lenient on, considering we are in Japan, things such as Fangirl Japanese (Baka, Kuso, Nani, Hai, Nande, Ano and the famous Gomenesai, etc) and Japanese honorifics (-kun, -san, -chan, -sama, -tan, -chama etc.) are allowed as long as you don't completely fill the place with it. However, if you are unsure about if this word is famous enough for people to know it, please try to leave a translation at the bottom.

For Example: Ohayou gozaimasu minna! Anatatachi o genki desuka? I hope you are though because today we have a lot of things to do! Oh! Irashaimase! What would you like today?

(Translation: Good morning everyone! How are you all today? I hope you are though because we have a lot of things to do! Oh! Welcome to the store! What would you like today?) Though, it's best to not do that so we can save everyone a hassle.

Age: It really doesn't matter but most people are in the High School. Putting you're age above this will limit you're interactions. It's not compulsory but recommended that you make them High School age.

Occupation at the Bakery: Are you a janitor? Baker? Or just someone who helps out? There are more categories to this so please use whatever one you wish.
History: About two paragraphs should suffice. If your character is someone not from Japan, please say so considering this is set in Japan.

Things Of Note

This is a slice-of-life comedy RP with magical influences. Romance takes a second theme and NOT the focal point. I understand relationships are a wonderful thing to RP but I don't want it to overpower the RP. Remember salt, sugar and pepper are meant to enhance flavour not overpower it.

People will start at different relationship levels. Remember that school, classes, shifts and reputation are all things of note that can factor into a relationship level.

Time that the shifts start will be your choice, but don't go on a shift that has 3000 people in it already, just for the sake of interaction. We have more places to interact then that.

The Bakery history will be made as we go along. I will accept any idea if I believe if it's good enough idea. My standards are pretty low.

The Bakery has been established already, there are relationships already made unless specifically asked, every person has been working there for a certain amount of time, NO ONE is just starting out.

Shinji

Name: Shinji "Smith"
Age: 16
Appearance: [Coming Later Tonight!]

Personality: Being naturally blonde and raised by a single mother in a society that favors conformity, Shinji has gotten used to the stares and derision of his peers. He tends to try and just power through these moments. Whenever he's introduced to new people, Shinji comes off as shy and aloof- he's reluctant to get close to anyone because he's got plenty to hide about himself, what with the unrequited crushes he's had for high school swim athlete Ryu Nakamoru. The first time Shinji was open about his feelings for Ryu-san, Shinji got shot down hard and the news of his feelings for his classmate spread like wildfire. The class eventually moved its attention to other juicy gossip, but not before Shinji went through a hellish two weeks of bullying and ostracism.

Shinji's greatest fear is being exposed as "different" in any way and being further rejected by society at large.

His favorite baked good is a chocolate chip cookie fresh from the oven!

Occupation at the Bakery: Waiter/Apprentice Baker

History: Shinji was born and raised in Okinawa to his mother Yukari, and his father PfC. Kyle Smith of the U.S. Army. Shinji has guessed that the conception was a one-night stand, but the fact that Kyle writes often and pays for summer trips to his home in San Francisco indicates that there were genuine feelings between the two, but something kept his mother and father apart.

After moving to Fukushima in recent years, Shinji had to get used to the stares and questions of his peers all over again. In Okinawa, everyone knew his hair was naturally blond and what his family situation was. Now Shinji's gotten a reputation at school as a wanna-be pretty boy uke for his looks, and rumors about his mother swirl and change every month. Getting a job at the cafe seemed like a good way to escape the rumor mill that followed him in after school clubs and earn a little money on the side for his next trip to America.

Edit his personality a little, I don't get much out of it nor do I see much of his characteristics. Is he shy? Is he insecure? Is he defiant? Is he guy who can laugh things off or is he the type of guy whose of afraid of people's opinions? From what I can tell is that Shinji is insecure about his blonde hair and dislikes all the rumours around him. Expand on it a little, is Shinji usually cheerful until his hair is brought up or perhaps he's mean and cold and hard to open up too. Expand on what you have here since he can be interesting character if you bring out his traits and mannerisms more.

Ben is a loud and outgoing person that doesn't seem to have any problems trying to find new people to make friends with. In addition, he's almost always seen with a smile on his face, even in the worst of times, but whenever he's by himself it's clear he just puts on the mask to distract himself and others from any problems that he might be feeling under the skin. Though, if it gets to the point where he can no longer put up the facade, he will break down and find a friend who's willing to listen to him. If he's unable to find such a friend, he will usually grow silent until somebody confronts him.

History
Until he was around 13 years old, Ben was living in Canada with his family and enjoying the winters that came and went without any problems where he found one of his first passions: cooking. Ever since he was old enough to pull himself up to the counter to help his mother, he would as she mixed and poured assorted things into each other. Then, watched as the stuff mixed and changed into different things before getting poured into pans then placed in the oven to cook. Over time, he started to take of most of the cooking for the house and it gave him something to smile about, making his parents breakfast or even cooking his own lunches for school the night before.

Once his teens, he entered himself into a cooking contest where he had to cook several different dishes from savory items such as chicken parm to more sweet treats, he nearly jumped out of his shirt when he heard his name was called out as the award. Atop of that it was broadcasted on network television AND shown online for everyone in the world to see. The prize, it was a 5 year stay-all necessities included, including education-in any country of his choosing, needless to say he picked the country of Japan.

Now 16, Ben is loving it in Japan as is his mom. Sure, there was a little bit of a culture shock whenever they first moved in, but that was nearly 2 years ago and now Ben is just like one of the locals. In addition, they both agreed that they will stay in the country as long as they can, which seems to be pretty easy as his mother's company had offices there as well, and Ben has been working at the bakery for about 18 months now. The only thing that Ben wishes he could do is move up to a position inside of the kitchen, but he's sure such a day will come soon.

Kiku Kunazumi

Name: Kiku Kunazumi
Age: 17
Appearance:

He's a real baby-faced person. With a toned body and cute hazel eyes that curve downward he gives off the feel that just somehow screams "adorable." His height is is rather on the short side being 168cm and with a fair complexion he really does look two years younger then he should be. His deep chocolate brown hair just seems to defy gravity as with a little hair gel it goes from a shoulder length cut becomes a mountain. Like seriously, it looks like a valley of mountains. His face is a soft round and he has a button shaped nose that you can pinch and make it look like you're thumb, much like a baby's. He has a build of an athletic young teen, not too buff but nice enough to look at and also has a nice rear. He always tries for the male sex appeal since it helps him get what he wants.

Personality: Mischievous and undeniably sarcastic, he has the uncanny ability to act and feign an almost undetectable façade. He can fake tears, seductiveness and even blushes to the point of being almost too real. He uses this to his advantage to get what he wants, when he wants. This in turn makes him a very manipulative kid. Also being the king of sass, he also is the king of insults and comebacks too! So in a verbal boquets are part of his vocabulary, sprinkled with some swears here and there.

Despite what people perceive of him most of the time, Kiku is a very shrewd, observant and rather sadistic individual. Sassy and confident in his ability, this little kid will have no qualms about beating someone to a bloody pulp if they try to annoy him. Speaking of annoying, this young man is also known for his ferocious temper that flares up in usually rather untimely manners. However this temper also come with a burning desire to protect those close to him due to incidents with the past. Most of the time, he's a decent human being. Despite these qualities, Kiku is actually quite the cheerful guy, while not overly energetic, he is sweet and knows how to have fun though. Just don't expect that often if you're not close to him.

Occupation at the Bakery: A shift supervisor, waiter, cashier. Actually he does a lot of work for Bakery, in general.
History: Kiku and twin brother were little pains in the ass when they grew up, they would pull pranks, switch names and people would be like "What?". Being awesome sons from huge Yakuza family was fun to begin with, being able to switch between cute kids and demon children was way better. But all that changed on that one fateful day. One of the twins was dragged to somewhere, the other twin stayed put in the house. Kiku was dragged, despite that, he didn't understand what was going until he looked into a mirror. His eye shape changed... Kiku didn't understand how or when, he just knew he was now the heir to the Kunazumi Yakuza. As it turns out, having twin heirs was nothing but disaster, so they had to choose between the two. The little bastards made people forget which was which and so the just dragged one by random and turned that one into the heir. Funny, the older brother was supposed to be the heir, another thing they got wrong. Soon after that, the training began, he was trained by his strict father to become a mighty Yakuza Lord. That didn't go well as he didn't like that kind of stuff.

He was trained in so much ranging from calligraphy to flower arranging to dangerous self defense techniques. The last one Kiku liked as from then one he started to entertain himself by playing fighting games and most of his fighting style was inspired by Chun Li, the First Lady of Fighting. That doesn't matter though, what did matter was how he saw less and less of twin brother was ostracized and shunned by the family while he got all the attention. Then on his 14th birthday, they pushed the limit. Kiku was given a lot of birthday presents, while his brother got none. So he gave one to him, however his twin was accused of being jealous by his father and was about to make him rip a fingernail as retribution. His temper flared and skyrocketed through the roof as he started beat his father down with a chair with an unstoppable rage, So from that point on, his relationship with his father was strained and he went to live with his more kind and carefree Uncle with his brother. He started to live a normal life as he went to school and actually made friends.

Soon he and his twin brother were on their way to the supermarket from school as they walked they say a sign. "HELP WANTED." it read, his brother urged him to go in, wanting to see what was in it, they met Madame Lilacflour, a woman from France (yet could speak perfect Japanese) who allowed them to work. Slowly but surely, the fruits of the effort showed as people went into the store and asked for a job, he was happy, never wanting this blissful time with his family of co-workers to end.

Kuyu Kunazumi

Name: Kikuyu Kunazumi or you can call him Kuyu-chan/Kuna-chan.

Appearance:


He doesn't differ that greatly from his twin. His only difference is that his eyes are slanted upwards, creating a cool type of look. Like his brother he is identical in almost every single way regarding appearance, along with that ridiculous mountain hair and sharp eyes, he looks older than his brother and seems to be more approachable.

Occupation at the Bakery: Cashier and Baker, sometimes Janitor.

Personality: Kikuyu's a bit of a jackass. He's bossy, loud and terribly obnoxious. Despite that, he is a popular kid and has a this air of confidence that borders arrogance. Being very charismatic and cheerful, he draws everyone around with a smile on his face. He's friendly and empathetic, more so than his mentally unstable brother. However, he's a bit of a daredevil and likes to take risks just for the sake of it. Considered a bit of an idiot, he is rather lazy, not wanting to try on something that doesn't interest him, lacking motivation nearly half the time. Being a somewhat of a childish fellow, he can throw tantrums at the smallest of things such as when somebody doesn't thank him, most of the time though, it's a joke.

He's also a bit of a chivalrous pervert, if that's possible, using perverted tactics to get people to do the right thing or his own way. However unlike his cute and psycho brother Kuyu doesn't really have anything that makes him insane, rather he stays calm in drastic times and can keep a level head when needed. He also never gets truly angry, but when he does, his voice is icy-cold creating a chilly atmosphere right on the bat, though that's practically never.

History: Kuyu was born into a famous Yakuza family, the Kunazumi's. Knowing of their drastic measures, Kuyu never really wanted to be the heir, finding that stuff disturbing. So the pair decided to be tiny mini jackasses and switch constantly so neither had to go to the meetings which were gruesome. It was Kuyu's idea, which might explain his father's cold attitude to him. Growing up, Kuyu was a happy child, able to do whatever he wanted since they never knew which one was the right twin. However, that one day when his brother was taken away for a day, he was taken to the arcade. When he came back he looked at his brother, expecting a reflection, except he didn't. This signified the day, where they could be called identical twins.

Slowly, the rift between grew and grew as they saw less of each other. Kuyu lived his life as he pleased as no one really expected anything from him, being silently ignored be everyone with the exception of the twin's well known bodyguard, Tatsuyoshi. He would soon find out that sport was his thing and was rather good at it. He was fine with the way things were besides not being able to see Kiku. Anyhow, on his 14th birthday he watched his father be beaten with a chair with wide eyes, begging for his brother to stop. Soon he moved to Fukushima with his brother and his uncle.

One fateful day, the twins were on their way to the supermarket, Kuyu saw the say that said "HELP WANTED". Deciding, "Oh what the hell?" he dragged his twin into the stored and met Lila-san. The trolling boss allowed them to work, too bad Kuyu failed really badly. Worst. Idea. Ever. Soon with a little help and motivation Kuyu rose from the ranks and is now one of the most reliable workers there. Like they say, "Started from the bottom, now we're here!"

Madame Lilacflour

Name: Madame Lilacflour A.K.A Lila-chan
Age: Secret
Appearance:

Personality: Lila is a very sweet woman, she loves caring for people and will always be there for you if you need a shoulder to cry on. Sweet and nice, she may not seem like it but she's one hell of a troll, tricking people into some light-hearted banter for the sake of it. Enjoying fun, she finds that having fun is the main thing to do. Despite that, she dislikes boredom and is very annoying when she's bored, doing drastic activities to relieve boredom. Despite that, she rather wants someone to always do their best rather than just do it perfectly with out any effort. This in turn makes her a very patient woman, she's very headstrong and determined, almost to a fault.

However, despite her dislike of boredom, she actually is quite mature. She never will force anyone into doing anything they don't like nor will she truly ever allow a crime go unpunished. Her passive-aggressive approach in dealing with things like this helps show that she is a lot more smarter than she looks considering how damn effective it is. In any case, Lila's calm head has helped her in situations before as she is the type that would sit back and analyse the current events before taking any drastic actions, especially if it is something important. Lila is afraid of losing those close to her and if it ever happens, Lila breaks down in complete tears.

Occupation at the Bakery: She's the damn owner.

History: She was a woman from Japan, being the daughter of a French woman and a Japanese man. She grew up with love showered upon her, being extremely wealthy, she was able to constantly visit the world. Her main home was the U.S.A, living there for most of her childhood. Most of her school life was a breeze, living happily throughout with no worries in the world. Well, when daddy literally pays for your grades and you can ace everything, what would you do? Her college years were pretty much the same, she breezed through that too. However, she mostly enjoyed to bake and slowly gained experience through it. However, most of her inspiration came from a tragic love story gone terribly wrong.

One visit Japan, it was that visit that changed her life. She met a man, whom she fell in love with. Constantly wanting to be by his side, she stayed and lived with him, possibly in a forced manner. However, it all changed on that one day, that horrible day. She confessed her undying love for him, she was happy, as it was requited. However on that same night, she was taken home by him, down the highway. They talked about their dreams and how his was to open up a bakery called "Le Pastuer". At that very moment a car crashed into his and Lila's, sending them in a horrible state. She waited in the hospital and even after her own recovery, she hoped that she would soon see his smile. Only to find out he was now in a coma, with no true early signs of recovery. Unable to do anything, she cried for days. One night, she was visited by a woman, she spoke of regal authority and Lila dared not to question her. She had stated that Lila had the power to bring back her lover, if she opened up this bakery. Lila agreed and the woman granted her magical power and told her that one day, he will come back.

Now she runs the bakery, in hopes of that one day... One day, that he will return. He will return smiling, he will return to her with open arms and they could fufill out their dreams. Together.

Right. First thing, Madam Lilacflour, being the only magic user in this RP. While our characters might be unaware of her power, I feel an example of her abilities might be in order just so we as writers know what to expect. Or does she regularly make Shinji sprout cat ears and tail just for fun?

For the twins- whooooooooooooooo baby! Chair to the face! I like the comradery they show, but is there any tension between them since they had to pack up and go? Has daddy dearest sent a representative to try and make an offer they can't refuse?

Example maybe shrinking EVERYONE to small sizes and have and outright cake war. Or perhaps creating a monster made out of pastries that the character have to fend off or cook while she dispells it all. Or even world domination made out of an army of gingerbread men. Basically, all bakery related stuff.

For the two little shits, their relationship is better than ever actually, since they've bonded at the bakery. Daddy dearest has no plans on getting them back. For now at least.

My Character

Name: Sumiko "Sumi-chan" Yoko
Age: 13

Personality: Sumiko has quite an innocent personality. She can be ditzy and clumsy a lot of the time, but that doesn't mean that she's an idiot. She is smart, talented in the kitchen, and good with hair and beauty, though she is bad at sports and PE often tripping and failing when she is doing exercise. But Sumiko is very kind and innocent. She'll help out people, she's polite and patient, so it takes a lot to make her mad. But when Sumiko is mad she is mad, she holds grudges, yells, and is generally not something to mess with, which is why it is great that she has her patience and manners. However, Sumiko is very bad around guys and prefers to stay in the kitchen and not talk to guys.

Occupation: Baker

History: Sumiko was born into quite a good family. Her mother was a hairdresser, and she fought Sumiko how to style and take care of hair and general beauty. Sumiko's father was a chef and baker, teaching Sumiko her ways in the kitchen. This family life style raised Sumiko into an innocent, pure, polite girl. Sumiko went to an all girl's elementary and junior high school, leading her to be very uncomfortable around guys.
Her surroundings as a child led to Sumiko being a mess in high school. She had skipped a grade and had gone to a coed high school. Sumiko often freaked out, she messed up in PE, often tripping, and messing up, much to her embarrassment. It was also at the beginning of the year, shortly after Sumiko had joined Le Pasteur SUmiko formed a one-sided crush. A crush that made her even more awkward around her crush. It didn't really help that Sumiko's crush was a girl. Sumiko would often get really flushed around her crush, and trip more often than usual. But Sumiko has had a good time working at Le Pasteur.

I'd like something easy where it allows for characters to get to know each other (or rather the players to know each other). Maybe something went wrong with the doors and they locked at a bad time, like during a storm, so we're trying to remember where the panel was.
