The Other Side

Plot

"Do you enjoy video games? Anime? Cartoons?" shouted out assorted flyers and posters throughout the city "Learn how it's like to BE in one!" They all claimed that people could learn how it felt to be literally inside of their favorite forms of animated media. However, few people really thought anything of it by way of dismissing such claims as an art or tech college advertisement trying a new ploy to get students. Though, to the shock of those who did decide to follow applications and got accepted, the participants found themselves entering not a college, but a high-tech laboratory with a series of tubes. Once everybody was there, the participants were informed that, once inside of the tubes, the overseers were going to use the forms and pictures that the participants submitted, digitalizing them on “the the other” of the screen. This, in turned, would allow the participants to meet their favorite characters from their favorite animated media as the character they submitted, including any and all abilities. To keep the immersion real, the participants would be able to interact with, and be interacted by, anything and everything that was there, with one major exception: death wouldn’t be permanent. Instead, if you were to die as the character the machine would transfer all of the memories straight into your brain so that you'd still remember your adventures.

Special Notices

I am hoping for at least 5 visitors and 10 residents. However, please try to claim residents of different sources. For example, if you see somebody claiming a handful of Mario characters, try to pick Sonic, Bleach, Simpsons, etc. The main reason for that request is that while you might have claimed Mario and Bowser, I am allowing you to pop-in/-out, as needed, other characters from the franchise. This is to try to make "The Other Side" seem like a lively place. A good example of what I am picturing the "The Other Side" to be is like the powerbar/powerstrip from "Wreck It Ralph".

History
Donovan never really been one to have many problems in his life, despite not being your model teenager, as he was constantly getting himself into all kinds of mischief from simple cheating on a test to graffiti to simple stealing. Thankfully, never been in any serious issues, and has never done any time behind bars or anything worse than the occasional suspension, both in and out of school. Unluckily for him, he’s had to go through more and occasional summer while attending school as he finally decided that he was going to his passion for drawing and video games to the next step. Though, never one to really think things through, he just fill out the form and shipped it off, thinking it was going to get him a scholarship.

Personality
Donovan is a pretty cheerful person and really just seems to have smile on his face, though the smile can turn in to quite a smirk whenever he’s thinking of doing something ‘fun’. However, as he is extremely rash, that thought can quickly and quietly turn into action without much of a warning. Though, if something doesn’t go quite right or isn’t working in his favor, he’ll just shrug it off and let it blow over before trying it again as many times as it takes to get it to work out correctly.

“So…we get to become our fan character. I’d like to see my Rex on the screen mimicking my moves.”

Spynco spent all of his life in a military family, raised to become a mercenary, but he didn't want anything to do with killing people - regardless of which side he was one. Instead, he took off at the age of 15 and was never seen from again the picture is the last know photograph of him. However, what people don't know is that he decided to take of thieving for what he needed, but made sure to target from those who deserved to be stolen from-allowing him to stay under the radar for so long.

Personality
Spynco, on the surface, is pretty easy to get along and become friends with. However, he always seems to be looking around suspiciously for something to come for him, an unfortunate trait from a life spent in training. However, this trait has allowed him to be able to move from instinctive actions to more thought-out ones with relative ease.

Notes
Able to use most guns, stealth, and basic soldier knowledge.
