[IC] Yugioh: The King's Shadow

Bane sighed and said “we can speak of this later…the ride is almost over…enjoy your date” he vanished and Serena looked around and said “what the heck just happened?”

Tristen said “we should find the monsters that she can summon at reflex if a shadow duel starts out of no where. And best ones for whatever can be thrown at us” odion nodded and looked over the cards. “I see many good choices, just need to figure the limits and strengths of the cards”

Adam brought it back and laid it out, using cups to hold the corners. “Okay…let’s mark the old locations…see if there’s a pattern”

Blinking a few times in confusion then a tilt of his head, Yami wondered the same thing. "I do not know. But once we have come off the Ferris Wheel. Would like to continue or call it a night?" He asks, wondering if she still wanted to play any games.

Cora looked to her cards, thinking about them carefully, pulls a few low atk cards and sets them aside. Fourteen monster cards. "These ones would do. They want to help and will fight by my side." Cora tells them. "Their attacks and defenses are diverse, my most powerful is Endymion the Master Magician." She admits.

Seto nods, following the directions instructed of where the lines are to be drawn.

Serena looked at him and said “we can stay out for a little bit longer…then you can fill me in”

Odion nodded as Tristen looked the monsters over. “Okay, now let’s find what trap and magic cards are good for a quick action or get away if need be”

Adam looked over the map when they were done and said “well…there a pattern…I’m just not seeing what it means yet…” Set looked over the map as well, glancing at Seto to see if he would see it.

"Alright. That is fair." Watching as they descend to the ground slowly, Yami gets out first before holding a hand out to Serena to take as she steps out. Once out he leads her toward the games.

Cora looks to Spell and Trap cards and instantly found the perfect ones. "Magic Cylinder and Mist Body." She decides. "Those are good cards. I'd choose those in a heart beat too." Marik comments.

Seto studies the map with the newly drawn out ley lines. It then occurs to him as he circles places like Stonehenge, Giza, Xian and that was just some of the known ones. Seto circles twelve in total.

Serena smiled and took his arm, looking around as they walked. Then she said “so what did Bane show you?”

Odion looked at more of the cards and asked “any field type cards?”

Set asked “what are you seeing blessed?”

Walking through the slow dwindling crowd, Yami lifted his arm a little like he was escorting her. "He showed me the day you came back. The day you tried to tell to me. I remembered more clearly. He also showed me the a night where Seth and I were on our way back to the palace when we were ambushed. You saved us both. There was an attack on the palace using spirit monsters. You held them off till the High Priest's gathered with stone tablets and sealed their monsters away. After the battle was over you were injured. A gash on your back. Found out with help of Mana that the injury was magic based. You dispelled it with Bane's help. You were going to talk to Seth about the security of the palace." Yami explains all he had seen. There was more he was going to learn but now was not the time.

Cora pulled the Field spell Magical Cidital of Endymion and placed it into view with other spells such as Teraforming. And Field Barrier. "With Tera forming I can pull the Field spell from my deck to my hand and with Field Barrier, the field spell can't be destroyed. Good combo to get Magical Cidital and keep it from being destroyed." Cora explains.

Seto rolled his eyes at the title. "I go by Seto or Kaiba. There are twelve locations of major leylines all over the world. It is odd because I didn't see a major one in Domino. There are so many that he could use to get free. But it would take longer." He explains.

Serena listened to him but stopped dead when he talked about the slash. She stared at him and said “on my back? All the way across? From my left shoulder to my right side of my waste?”

Tristen nodded and said “that would be very helpful…” Odion nodded and said “agreed. I believe with some tips from young Yugi you could handle anything thrown at you”

Set bowed his head and said “my apologies. I hadn’t heard your name yet from my scouts…so that means there’s something here he needs that’s more pressing then just a portal…” Adam was deep in thought and said “the heart and soul…wait what did the guy say to you Seto?”

Yami stopped Serena when she talked about the slash from her past. "Yes." He seemed confused. "Is something the matter?" He asks her, worry crossing his face.

Cora smiled happily, feeling proud of her deck. She stole a glance toward the couch Yugi was passed out on. He looked toward her new friends. "I'll take all the advice I can get." Stating cheerfully.

Seto looked toward Adam. "You mean the man that tortured me? He wanted the King of Games. But ever since we kept hearing about the Heart of the King." Seto explains.

Serena looked around then pulled yami into an alleyway and behind a shed. Then she slipped off her jacket and started unbuttoning her shirt. “Don’t freak out…I can’t show you his with this on…” she pulled her shirt away and turned to show her back. The scar was there. “Dad told me it must be a birth mark…it’s been there my whole life…is this that wound?”

Tristen smiled and said “Yugi will be alright. He just can’t keep using that new skill of his all the time…”

Adam nodded and said “the heart of the king and Serena kept hearing the soul…what if…it’s not just because he wants them gone…what if he needs Yami and Serena?”

Yami managed to catch his footing as he was pulled into an alleyway with Serena. Seeing her take off her jacket and unbuttoning her shirt, he immediately turned his head away with a blush spreading on his face. When she tried to assure him not to freak out, he glanced her way to see her turn her back to him to see the big scar along her back that looked like the injury Zhara got. "It looks exactly like it. But how can that be?" He asks

Cora nodded, understanding. She began to yawn herself. Starting to feel sleepy again. "I think I might try and get some sleep." Joey nods. "Yawning is contagious, Cora. But you're right. Sleep does sound good." He stands and stretches. Cora begins to pick up her cards and put them in a case.

Seto stands back to get a bigger look at the map. He folds his arms over his check while he listened and thinks about what was said. "Sounds like it alright. He definitely has beef with them. I'd take a guess that they helped imprison him."

Serena said “I’m not sure…there must be a reason Bane showed you that memory…it must be linked to all of this…” she slipped her shirt back on and said “maybe we can ask Adam when we get back…”

Tristen got up and said “time to find places for everyone to sleep again…”

Adam stood and moved over saying “I have a bad feeling…they both might be keys in his freedom…”

Yami stared at her back till she was putting her shirt on and again looked away. "Maybe...." He wasn't sure if Adam would have any clue. Picking up her jacket, waited till she was ready for it before handing it back to her.

Marik nodded. "Well I think we have a couple more couches and then the floor. At least there are plenty of foutons." Seeing the positive of the situation. "Alright. Let's break'em out. Tomorrow we might need to stop by our houses and get some clothes to change." Joey explained.

Cora felt like her stomach was twisting in knots at the thought. Her face impassive as she put her stuff under the coffee table. Shaking the thought from her mind, she stands up. "I'll help too if I may." Joey nods.

"That's exactly what it sounds like. Like how Yami's name was the key to Zorc's prison. There are some places the satellites can't get a good ready. If we leave that to you to notify me when a portal opens up so we can respond as quick as possible. It's the edge we'll need to make sure his confines are still sealed." Seto explains before still back in the chair.

Serena turned to him and saw his face. Then she took her jacket and said “do you have someone in mind that might know?”

Tristen looked at Cora and said “I think Adam told me there were more cushions and such in that back room”

Set nodded and said “I can send my scouts all over the city. It seems the battle is bond to this area…for some reason…” Adam nodded and added “I’ll look into getting the city camera feeds…”

Closing his eyes and a sigh that escaped his lips, the former pharaoh shook his head. "Sadly, I do not." He admits with a saddened expression. Those he knew who would have a theory were long gone. Not even sure if any of their descendents would have a clue.

Cora nodded as Marik lead her to the backroom Tristen mentioned. Having to take a few trips to make sure there was enough for everyone. Joey helped lay the Foutons out and all.

Seto was curious about that as well. If the major leylines were crucial to his freedom, why is it Domino that the portals are fixated in the city instead of the areas they should be. That he would need a solid lead. For now this was the best they could do. There was much to be done.

Serena sighed and said softly “if only Mahad and Mana were here…they might be able to shed light on this mess…”

Tristen smiled when they were finished and said “okay, now we all need milk and cookies and we are all set”

Adam looked closely at the city and muttered “what if…it’s the city itself that’s making the portals? Maybe the energy built up here could be the draw…look at all that’s happened here?”

Yami had thought about it but then wondered to himself. "Maybe we can but to have that knowledge, it's worth to ask." Patting the case on his thigh of which his cards were in. "Though maybe Bane might know. He helped get rid of the magic in the wound, might know more." A theory, but one Yami was willing to bet on.

After the set up, Cora was confused about the suggestion. Marik hummed at the idea. "We could ask Adam if there is any."

A frown forned on Seto's lips. He didn't like the idea of this city being a magnet for more trouble than its already been dealt. "As convenient as it may, is rather annoying considering the magnet of attention it has gotten of the years." Kaiba growls, hating this more than he did before.

Serena said “worth asking…but now let’s just have fun then worry about it when we get back to the warehouse…” she looked around then said “what does yugi want to do? When his an adult?”

Tristen blinked and said “wait really? Cookies?”

Adam said “wait a sec…think about it. Didn’t the whole duelist kingdom thug start here as well?”

Yami nodded, offering his arm for her to take before leading them out of the alleyway. To be asked about Yugi's future surprised him well enough though if Yugi's goal had changed from what he was told last. "Last I knew, Yugi wanted to do game design. Though he was conflicted between that and the Game Shop."

Marik shrugged. "Maybe. I'll ask." Marik gets up to go find Adam.

"Not entirely. It was announced in Domino. But actually happened on an island far from Domino." Seto explained.

Serena looked at him and said “why can’t he do both? I mean, get the shop linked to a gaming company would help wouldn’t it? Give Grandpa security”

Finally odion laughed and said “I think he meant it as a joke Master Marik. Don’t forget Tristen and Joey are known for their love of food”

Adam said “but didn’t Yugi solve the puzzle here?”

That was a good idea to be honest and one to run through to Yugi to see what he thought about it. "Would be an idea to tell Yugi about. "What about you, after all of this? What had you planned before all of this?" He asks her.

Marik turn around and grinned. "I know. But now that Tristen said it, it does sound good." Marim turned back around and continued to finding Adam. Joey laughed as he watched Marik go. "Just had to say something."

"As far as I aware of. He did." Seto answers.
