It was a typical day for Alex he was riding the bus and playing his Pokemon Y version having just went through all the trouble of Transfering his favorite pokemon over from the other Generations he grinned as he went through all of the Elite Four with ease. He stopped when he saw what had appeared to be the face of Arceus appear on his screen.
"Wait human do not turn off this device." the pokemon began. "As you know I am Arceus and I come to you with a quest."
"A quest?" Alex said dumbfounded.
"Yes a quest. The pokemon world is in danger and I need forces from the outside world to help."
"But why me?" Alex asked as the others on the bus started looking at him with weird looks.
"Because you and the others are ones with the best intentions or so I hope. Your knowledge of our world is the reason I chose you that way you can blen in to our world." Arceus said. "Do you accept this quest?"
"Of course I do why wouldnt I but what do you mean by blend in." Alex began as he rambled on
"Just relax all will be made clear." Arceus said with finality as the screen Alex was looking at turned white and a bright light enveloped him.

"Stupid flippin' Talonflames and their predictable Gale Wings hmfmfggg..." Kate muttered, looking at the results screen of the battle she just lost. Everybody used Talonflame, it seems. To be honest, Kate was getting a bit sick of seeing the same Pokémon over and over again. Granted, these Pokémon, with their power, definitely deserved the usage and all, but seriously? It seemed that Pokémon had turned into a whose-Talonflame-is-better contest in the competitive scheme, especially in Smogon's Overused tier.

That's why Kate preferred to use Pokémon not from Overused in her Wi-Fi battles. But looking at her team again...

"Dang it, I need to get myself a Stealth Rock user," Kate noted. "That'll take care of those pretentious firebirds. But then I'll have to get a counter for Defog..." She made a mental note to use her trained Mega Banette the next time she played online.

Would you like to save this battle as your Battle Video?

Kate tapped "YES"; she could always learn something from watching previous battle videos. She subscribed to some of the well-known Pokémon Youtubers. Haydunn. TyranitarTube. Shofu. Among others. From these fellows she learned how to, you know, not get totally mopped.

Kate sighed and tapped the save icon on the bottom of her screen.

Would you like to save the game?

There is already a saved file. Would you like to overwrite it?

Kate drummed her fingers as she waited for all the little dots to blink to life on the bottom screen. The familiar jingle played, and Kate closed the 3DS, putting her Alpha Sapphire in sleep mode.

It had been a hot day and, though yard work had needed doing, enough was definitely enough. The chilly basement, well removed from the humidity outdoors, was calling June's name. She went to it gladly - making sure, of course, to pluck her freshly-charged 3DS from its cord on the way. Today she thought that perhaps she could make headway in Pokémon Y. Her game had been going slowly; in between real-life obligations and stopping to explore every nook and cranny in Kalos, she hadn't seen it through to the end yet.

Right, right, she thought as her save file loaded and her character stood in the midst of a cracked, dry desert. I need to find a way to get into the power plant, don't I?

June braved the winds and navigated the skate rails threading through the badlands. As she did, the area grew brighter. Is that a sunlight effect? she wondered. It's a little strong... I can hardly see any--

"Human," a voice intoned from the speakers of the 3DS.

"Whaaaat?" June muttered in mild surprise. "Voiceover. Where did that come from?"

"Do not be frightened," the voice continued undeterred as the nearly white screen resolved itself into the face of an Arceus. "I come to you with a quest."

"Arceus? Why would Poké-God be talking to my character all of a sudden?"

"I am not speaking to a character; I am speaking to you. I require your aid - and the aid of others like you. Will you accept my--"

June held the 3DS at arm's length, squinting at the screen. "This is weird. Is this-- you're not really talking to me, are you? Why would anybody need help from someone like me?"

"All will be explained. Please. Will you accept my quest?"

The girl pursed her lips. She glanced around - nobody was home right now but her, and talking to a video game wasn't the weirdest thing she could do. She looked back to the screen, cleared her throat. "Sure. I'll help you." Even if it wasn't real. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, right?

The screen faded to white again, only brighter than before - too bright for the backlight, too bright to see the room anymore - and though June closed her eyes against it she could still see the brightness. "Thank you," the voice said from somewhere. And June was gone.
