The dual-wheel idea would probably work the best, I think. Rotate them a bit like trim on an aircraft, but with pitch and yaw being the only two directions of travel.

Could make it very simple with some sort of lever that is just climb, stay level, and descend? Kinda like a blimp would work, I assume. It would make the pirate ship unable to do climbs like a plane, and that climbing and descending would be more akin to an elevator?

Captains are totally lame, you always gotta go higher up the food chain to find the bad dudes.

I'll be honest, when I was drinking and on no sleep writing alex, it was after watching Evil Dead, Dead by dawn, and Army of Darkness, and it took every bit of my power to not give him a chainsaw hand. But I still went with the A Williams name.

AND, finally, I've actually completed my character sheet. Which, @Isengrim, you may find on the fourth page of the interest check. It is long as all hell, by far the longest CS I've ever written, so please don't bother to read it unless you have half an hour to kill.

Well there's a fair amount of ol' Captain Tight-pants, to be sure. Even the name: Malcolm 'Mal' Reynolds; Wilton 'Wilt' Grady. Hell, I should have shortened it to 'Wil' just to complete the symmetry :P

There's a hefty dose of Jim Raynor in there too, more than just the picture for inspiration.

I guess I'll have to distinguish him a bit more. Since their origins are fairly similar - ex-soldier-turned-outlaw - I'll have to make Grady's personality more distinct. Need to make sure he stays more on the asshole side, and not so much the lovable rogue. I also think he isn't as clever as Mal - his solutions could be more "Well let's attack it head on," and I think the rest of his officers are going to be the ones to say "What if we do this ingenious plan instead?"

Still kind of a work in progress then.

Also, sorry I posted everyone's characters - I'm realizing now that it makes more sense for you to have done so, so you can change them as you want instead of going through me. Wasn't really thinking that one through. I can 'delete' my entries if you guys want to post your CS there again.

Good idea. Some GM's put it down themselves so players don't keep tweaking their characters after acceptance.

Just so everybody knows, I am perfectly comfortable with anybody using any random extra crewmates I mention. Go ahead and give them their own personality if they don't have one already, especially if it helps with our characters interactions.

This means that @knighthawk and @November can go ahead and use any of the other three characters (Jory/the Brideson twins) now or in our little mission!
