The year is 2160 CE, three years after the Relay 314 incident. The state of the galaxy is in a constant flux as the advent of humanity has raised a question of the path of the future. Anti-human sentiments are at a record high as the anti-human movement primarily lead by the Turians that fought them during the First Contact War has gained traction. At the same time the rise of the Systems Alliance has marked a large blip on the radar of the galaxy of a new power that seemed threatening especially to their Batarian neighbors in the Skyllian Verge. To counter this the formation of pro-human groups such as Cerberus have been formed with their manifestos preaching a new manifest destiny to conquer the known galaxy. This accumulation of events were slowly adding to a powder keg waiting to explode. It is a time of great change, social upheaval, discontent and angry feelings throughout Council Space. As a result a mass exodus of souls had begun moving out into the Traverse and a brave few heading deeper to the Terminus Systems themselves where they could be anything they wanted as long as they had the grit to fight for it. It is here on the former mining station of Omega that our story begins.
Omega is the cesspool of the greater galaxy. The so called "Dark, twisted counterpart to the Citadel." The mining station is a haven of traffickers, slavers, peddlers, and terrorist alike all trying to live underneath the same roof. Having no standing military or public government to speak of what little order comes from the various mercenary groups that dived the area into predetermined territories. The only semblance of a central figure comes from Aria T'Loak an Asari who's syndicate have significant control over the station after Aria's defeat of the station's former warlord almost one hundred and eighty years prior. Those not affiliated with any of the myriad of mercenary groups were downtrodden and trying to make ends meat while having to pay exuberant extortion fees to keep their places of business still running. Thick polluted smog fills the air and bodies of prostitutes, drug addicts and the unlucky litter the alleyways of the sprawling maze like series of towering buildings and factories jammed next to one another. Any attempts at bring justice to the hell has always ended in failure with those few vigilant who tried ending up down in an alley somewhere with their brain's blown in by a M-6 Carnifex, blood illuminated by the oppressive neon.
This fact never deterred some though and their will always be fools wanting to be heroes. This is a story of one such group of misanthropes and paragons willing to become vigilantes in the name of justice. In the Terminus systems there was only one law and the that was the law of the strong and so for whatever reason these individuals came together to fight for those that could not fight for themselves, one bullet through the skull at a time. They are not heroes, heroes had morals, heroes had restraint, and heroes did not enjoy the bloodshed. No they are just the bad men and women needed to keep the other demons from getting through the door. But in the Terminus Systems sometimes you needed bad men to be able to get good things done.
Welcome to the Terminus Systems please enjoy your stay.

The Story So Far
Mass Effect: Omega Serenade is a tale of betrayal, bloodshed, justice and vengeance starring a group of not so nice individuals with good intentions. The story takes place twenty three years before the events of the original Mass Effect in a galaxy on the precipice of great change. With an emphasis on brutal combat where each shot really portrays the destructive force of a micro-scaled mass accelerator launching a projectile into somebodies face and character interaction between the small group of vigilantes as they try to make day by day without breathing their last. As a result of this RP being set in the world of a rather mature video game that posses mature questions about love, death, war, and the consequences of our actions I entrust that you are all able to handle yourselves in a respectful manner to the content but more importantly one another.
Our story begins on the seedy hellhole of Omega, once just a mundane mining complex for Element Zero has turned into a wretched hive of assassins, terrorists and gangsters. A place where the strong rule over the weak with an iron fist. The party have all grouped together under various circumstances to try to bring to justice through any means necessary to those that deserve it. At the start of the role play the group has been working together for around what would be equivalent to two months back on Earth. By this will have an understanding of one another and how they all fit into the slot, to of course avoid all those awkward introductory posts. So far they have taken on only small targets: pimps, gang bangers, drug pushers and the occasional group of thugs that put too many innocent beings in intensive care. At this moment they are less than blip on most criminals radars. Now things shall begin to become interesting as they begin to aim for targets higher up on the food chain. This will of course lead to escalation of violence until almost all out war has begun on the station. How things progress from there is really for us to deiced together through what we say and do. As this story is designed to be malleable and change as we effect it with our actions either in good ways or bad.
As we progress the questions of morality and what it means to truly be a hero will be asked. These are questions that really don't have concrete answers, moral philosophy is funny like that. But how our characters react may sway others to beleive in certain ways, the single pebble that starts the tsunami as it were. While I can't really promise a happy ending for our motley crew as stories like these can only end in tragedy. But that doesn't manner what manners is if they manage to make it all worth it and maybe they just will do that. That's for you to decided.
The Year 2160 CE
While most of the technology will be the same as the rest of the series it is important to note a few things. If anything is still in doubt you can reference the handy dandy timeline.
- The Systems Alliance consolidating their power early in 2160 effectively uniting all of humanity under one banner and making them one of the larger galactic powers in space.
- BAaT was also formed this year meaning that there will be no human bioticts just yet as the biotict potential of humans has not yet been fully cultivated yet.
- The First Contact War which occurred three years ago at the start of the RP will have severely dampened Human relations with some species primarily the Turians. Interesting note to characters who are of Human or Turian backgrounds as they will have most likely participated in the War depending on their age and may harbor some feelings on the manner.
- Cerbrus having also been formed three years ago is still reality small as it stretches out its roots to gain more power and influence within Alliance Space.
- Due to the events of ME1 having not happened yet thermal clips are still kind of rare as the Geth's extended use of them hasn't prompted military manufactures to jump on the bandwagon to counter them. This meaning most weapons run on the heat sink system used in ME1.
Other Things will be added here as they are deemed necessary by the GM.
