There is at least one other person excited about it and his name is The Nexerus. I'm definitely not alone either. You just don't seem to be looking hard enough.

That said, part of the reason the hype might be a little less than you expected is the amount of teases we've been getting over the past while that the game is coming. The artist who added 'Fallout 4 Trailer' to his LinkedIn page, just recently, foremost among them. Then there was the alleged Fallout 4 script (seemingly confirmed since the character in the trailer looks just like the portrait), and waaay back Three Dog's voice actor told us more is coming. Everyone who cares already knew it was coming, they were just waiting for it to be official.

Now that is is official though, the waiting hasn't stopped, just shifted from wanting something to wanting MORE of something. Hopefully at E3 there'll be some cool art to showcase and a little more in game footage.

Oh, and here is the trailer for any Fallout fans who have somehow not seen it already.

Fallout 4 will be completely dog based. You will play only as a customizable dog with a generic human companion. The game will be 95% escort mission (5% being tutorial and maybe one mission thrown in to try and shake it up).

All the hardcore people will also complain about the lack of factional depth and political intrique in the Wasteland. As with now, /v/ will be full of shitposting on release because expectations.

/v/ it seems is always salty so it doesn't come at a particular surprise.

Though now with F4 coming out it is also bringing out all the die-hard Fallout 3 fan-casuals. The sorts who only ever played Fallout 3 so judge things by that. Which feels pretty narrow. Don't get me wrong, it's a good game. But it certainly shouldn't ever be a reference point on anything in the Fallout world.

These types need to play FNV and really explore that title in its depth.

OH MY GOD, Yes soo excited for this game. New Vegas was awesome, and Fallout 4 looked great from the trailer. I just hope Beth improved their writing since F3, among other things.

Bethesda games (Elder Scrolls Series + Fallout Series) have the best playable hours to cost ratio of any video game. Hundreds of hours of content for $60 would be a ridiculous expectation to put on any other developer.

I like the Fallout series, and I think this latest chapter will prove to be half-decent at least, but no franchise is worth 'freaking out' over. Being in calm anticipation for a new installment, sure, but not 'freaking out'. Know why?

Because, however unlikely it may seem, just maybe... it might be shit. This inevitably results in those who 'freaked out' over it wallowing in a pit of anger and despair. And even if it isn't shit, even if it's good, I've yet to see an extremely hyped-up game in recent years that actually lives up to said hype. High expectation risks breeding even higher disappointment.
