Evelyn nodded. "Uh, well, uhmm.. You and Jackknife can sort out the bedroom stuff if you decide to stay.. I honestly think Option C is too... far for now."
Jackknife began whispering at Jack, tearing into him for what he said. "I know!!" he responded at full volume. He lowered himself back into a whisper. "I don't care what she's like! I'm still in love with her!" All that could be heard were small muttering.
"He's confused, but definitely not hatred." He smiled. "All that really matters is me, right?" He had a hopeful look in his eyes, and he was glancing around her face in case of a look of hesitance.
