@Hillan Personally I love Smallville however many because it was my introduction to comics. While there are numerous problems with it I believe if you were to condense the story down it would work well as a backstory for Superman. In fact Superman: Secret Origin shares a lot of the Smallville elements and characters such as Chloe and Lionel have both made it into the comics since. Smallville had a positive effect on Superman in much the same way B:TAS did on Batman just to a lesser degree.

Oh, absolutely. It painted Superman in a more human light. Smallville combined with JLU made me actually like Superman after believing he was just one unbeatable mess. But I can't look past the horrible writing in Smallville to say that it's a good show. Artistically, that is. The only truly good part about that show is the characterization of the main cast, most notably Lex, Lionel, Chloe and Lois, especially Lionel, who's I think to be the most fleshed out character in the whole show and one of my favorite TV characters ever.

Hey mate, I just have to stop you there. You might have applied for Wonder Woman, but you haven't yet been accepted. I see that @Ruby has opted to make Supergirl instead, but she has every right to apply for Wonder Woman alongside you. Allow me to quote the rules:

5 | Don’t call dibs on a character. You can express your interest in one, sure, but don’t “claim” it unless you have a completed character sheet up your sleeve. If multiple players express interest in a character, they will all be given 24 hours to post a sheet. Those that are posted within that time frame will be judged by the GM based on one aspect: their quality.

That said, if @Ruby wants to do Supergirl instead, then that's completely fine. But please, and this goes for everyone, don't discourage someone from applying for a character. It's not cool.

But I also want to thank @Ruby for handling this with grace, and to thank @Weird Tales for offering a non-competitive solution. Good on you both.
