[IC] We Are the Crystal Gems

Zircon made a small smile when Spinel gave a thumbs up but that only lasted a couple seconds when Howlite asked something about a cracked gem and then suddenly started laughing. Zircon raised her eyebrows in worry at the suddenly escalated situation. Lucky enough that Aquamarine was there to heal the gem in some sort of frost form. Zircon made a quiet sigh of relief. It seems that this day is just filled with close calls. And how long have they been alive again? The weird glitching with Emerald's gem catches Zircon's attention as she looks towards that direction and watched. Whatever just happened with Emerald was...odd. It was like he was trying to reform but then changed his mind last second. Something was up though, which is maybe why that happened. At least that's what it seems like. Actually, it even seemed like he was trying to reform rather...fast. Compared to Amber, Emerald tried to reform a lot sooner. When did he poof into his gem again? Like a minute ago or so? At least it must have been awhile ago. Either that or Zircon just got a bad sense of time all of a sudden, which is mostly unlikely hopefully. Zircon stood there thinking to herself for a bit, a finger wrapped around her chin and a slightly tilted head.

Rustle-snap, rustle-snap, rustle-snap. Down went Evenkite, tumbling and occasionally breaking through branch after branch with the grace and elegance of a sleep-deprived drunkard. Surely, she knew, any moment now, she'd hit the ground, and being one of the more fragile gems, she'd probably join Emerald's state. As this happened, only two thoughts were in her mind.

The first was how it would feel to be in such a state. Would you feel anything at all?

The other was that when she came out of said state, she would let Amber have a piece of her mind.

So she braced herself for the inevitable landing, her eyes shut tight and her teeth clenched. Except that, by some miracle, she never did land. Carefully opening one eye, blinking, and then opening both, Evenkite found herself held safely in the hands of the giant gem, her previous anger towards him melting away. Had he felt guilty for what he had done? Or was it simply kindness on his part? Whatever it was, he went out of his way to make sure she was okay, despite having not treated him very nicely at first. Yes, she did apologize, but from how Amber was acting, it wasn't like he had heard.
"Thanks, Amb," she croaked -she was still rather dazed from the whole ordeal- while removing one of the many leaves from her now quite messed up hair. She wouldn't admit it nor show it, but she quite happy to be held up here by Amber, since the idea of being alone on the ground again could mean being blown away to god knows where again. And that was an experience she did not want to relive anytime soon.

"Y-You can put me down now, if you want. "

Amber let out a sigh of relief after he caught Eve and she seemed not to be hurt, well most of her okay, her hair was a different story. He let out a hearty laugh after she thanked him. "No thanks needed lass." He said, a rather goofy grin coming to his face. He had already started to walk back to the others when Eve brought up being put down. "Are you sure lass? That was quite the toss you just had." He said with a raise of his brow.

Without any hesitation, sodalite placed Emerald's gem in the hands of Aquamarine. She believed that the other blue woman would be able to help Sodalite get the answers that she wanted about their kind, and the world that they were on. There was also honest trust in there with her allegiance, but it was currently a balancing act between her desire for the truth and her desire to help the people around her. Her mouth did not open, and no words came out as she stepped away from Aquamarine and Emerald's gem. She seemed to be able to heal gems, and she only hoped that it would work on Emerald too.

Aquamarine ran her hand over the gem softly, turning it over as she tried to figure out what the problem might be. She hadn't liked the fact that his body had glitched in such a way and then refused to reform leaving Emerald in his gem. The green gem sat on her flat palm as it started to glow once again, the glow shining slowly on the gem before she carefully surrounded it in a thin frost orb. It would be weak enough for the other to break out of but at least strong enough to hold around the gem until he was healed. She hoped that the other out be alright but this was the best she could do for now to try and help his regeneration process. Aqua held the orb close, standing up slowly and keeping her hands protectively around the small orb before looking at the others. "We should head into town now. We might be able to help or at the very least they might know a place where we can rest."

"Are you sure lass? That was quite the toss you just had."

Not at all expecting this as her answer, Evenkite went blank and spoke of nothing for a good few moments, trying to figure out how to react.Yes, she was sure, sure that she didn't want to be put down, but at the same time, she didn't want to be thought of as a bother, or worse, as a coward, to the other gems. She was certain that if she asked him to be put down, he'd comply and that the temptation to stay where she was would waver, but now that he was asking, it was much harder to turn down. So in response, she stuck her tongue out and pulled on her eyelid with a childish "Myeh!" before returning his goofy grin, letting out a small chuckle as she did so.

"Absolutely not," Evenkite jested, still chuckling, "You are my personal carrier now and your soul is bound to my every word. Got that, Amb?"

"Is rest really something we need?" Spinel asked. She wasn't sure whether she meant to ask if they should be trying to rest while they had a job to do, or if she literally wanted to know if gems needed to rest. "I'm following you regardless, however I feel that I should say I'm a little apprehensive. Am I wrong to assume that this destruction was caused by a gem? Won't they be suspicious if a group of gems show up immediately after it?"

Sodalite couldn't help but overhear Amber and Evenkite. A smile made it's way to her face as she saw their antics. It was sweet relief from the stressful moments they just had, but she had to remind herself that others could have been hurt, the ones in the town she had heard about. Suddenly an idea came to her head. Once she was sure that nobody needed her at that moment, Sodalite took off, winding up one of the cliff faces in the kindergarten.

With all of the focus and concentration she could muster, combined with the desire to protect herself and her new comrades, Sodalite summoned her gauntlets once more. She smiled to herself, and looked down at the Gems all together. "Hello!" She called out to them from her high position. Before she had a change to listen to what any of them would have to say, she jumped down the cliff and used her gauntlets as sleds. Unfortunately, she didn't see a rather large rock sticking out, and flew into the air. She was up there for a few good seconds before landing and rolling on the ground, staying moderately safe with minimal wounds. As she stopped, Sodalite began to laugh at herself, finding the activity fun and enjoyable.

"Uh alrighty than lass..." Amber said with a slight chuckle, though he was slightly concerned that Eve had managed to hit her head and knocked a few of her screws loose on her way back down to the ground. He continued back towards the others, Eve still in hand, but stopped when he spotted another figure falling from the sky. "Bloody Hell! How many of yo' are going to fall from the sky?" He asked aloud, though he let out a slight laugh of relief after the blue Gem landed on the ground pretty much safely.

"Rest is not quite the right wording, more like relaxation. We don't need to sleep or eat if we choose too but I always find it a bit enjoyable. In any case, a peaceful place to talk is what I am going to aim for but not really getting my hopes up for now. The town might not understand what attacked them but even if they do we can offer help. If they tell us to leave then we shall but Johnny is down there and others like him that I might be able to heal so I wish to try and offer a bit of help while we wait for Emerald to reform."Aquamarine answered Spinel honestly. She was just glad for the most part that everyone was alright even with all the mishaps.

She watched Sodalite, a soft smile on her lips and chuckled as she one hand waved to the other calling out 'hello' but was startled at her just jumped off the cliff. Aqua felt her heart stop, panic nagging at her as she tried to think of what to do when her thoughts were interrupted by Amber asking how many of them were going to fall from the sky which made her have to cover her mouth with her free hand from laughing. She was relieved that Sodalite was okay and had fun sledding with no snow but they needed to move out. "That is enough fun for now. Let's head on into town." she said, still giggling here and there, trying to catch her breath as she head over to the town. She hoped the others would follow behind her.

Spinel couldn't help but let a small smile slip at what the others were doing herself. "That was... really something." She couldn't think of much else to say, she didn't think she actually had a word for what she'd just seen. She headed into town like Aquamarine had said, not necessarily following her, because she wasn't actually paying attention to whether or not Aqua was ahead of her. Was going ahead of Aquamarine a good idea? It probably wasn't the safest, but Spinel was the self-proclaimed perceptive one of the group.

"If you see me disappear, go for cover yourselves or else be ready to defend. I'm not sure we should discount the possibility of danger up ahead." She'd intended to say something more lighthearted, but lighthearted wasn't really her strong suit.

Zircon listened to Aquamarine's answer to Spinel, learning some new facts about themselves and what they plan to do soon. Zircon had absolutely no objections and in fact wanted to get moving even more now. If they got attacked by spider robots and a giant floating eyeball, who knows what could be next within that same day. Zircon looked towards the others and cracked a smirk herself giving a light chuckle at what just happened. Well it was more of a half-smirk and a half-smile put together. Perhaps it's a good thing to have a little fun after a little disaster here and there. It seems to be good for the mind at least. Almost makes you forget there was a situation in the first place, just by seeing the way that they're all laughing. Zircon's head slightly perked when Aquamarine said to head into town and headed that direction. She put a hand to her left hip before taking her hand away and looking towards it and slightly moving her jacket out of the way to see her dark gem. This was the first she actually took some time to look at her gem, and by time that means more than one second. She gently traced a her right thumb over it but then she quickly focused back to heading into town and caught up with Aquamarine. Zircon walked mostly behind Aquamarine but beside her as well. She then simply nodded at what Spinel said before putting her hands behind her head relaxingly.

-Inside Emerald's Gem-

Emerald opened his eyes and found himself looking up at.....darkness. He sat up and winced, his back still sore from...what? All I can remember is getting blasted away by that laser. Then I was flying through the air, and....I guess I hit something. Must've hit it pretty hard.

He waved his hand in front of his face to make sure he was seeing straight and not hallucinating the darkness. Wait....it looked different. There was the black half-glove, still, but it had extended to about an inch before his fingertips. He clenched his fingers to make sure those didn't hurt. He looked around this area, this endless green expanse with black sky. He looked down at his Gem, and it looked....brighter. Less transparent. Other than his back, he seemed to be fine. He walked around, making sure there wasn't anything except this odd platform, a bit of pain shooting through his body every time he took a step. He sat back down and thought maybe he'd reform when it didn't hurt to move.

"Egghh, I'm hungry." Bloodstone stated to himself. "I guess I could use the trans-morpher and go down for some human food, besides it will let me spy for a bit." He stood and walked over to the odd-looking machine and pressed the start button and waited for the machine to activate. The trans-morpher started to scan Bloodstone and change some of his features. His hair was turned black; his eyes, blue; and his skin, tan making him look entirely human. 'There we go, this human disguise is perfect.' He then walked over to the warp pad and warped to the surface.

Bloodstone arrived on a secret warp in the woods close to the town. He walked through the town and looked at all the destruction he had caused. It was amazing really, that one blast could cause so much havoc, but right now he had more important things to worry about; his stomach. He repositioned his hoodie to cover his gem and walked into town, hoping that the pizza place was still open.

Reggie was freaking out. He had been sleeping in the woods near Mohs Town,partially because the leaf bed was comfortable and partially because it felt like he was camping instead of roughing it put in the wilderness, when suddenly a bright light filled the sky,m followed by a resounding boom. Next thing he knew, he saw a huge plume of smoke rising from the town. And if that wasn't cause for alarm, one of the rocks nearby suddenly started glowing. With no idea what was going on, Reggie was quick to hide in some nearby brush, but couldn't find it in himself to run for the hills. He was too damn curious for that.

Godammit, if this is another bomb or whatever the hell that light was, I'm screwed.

Luckily, the glowing stone wasn't a bomb, but the warp in which Bloodstone was arriving. Reggie's eyes were the size of dinner plates as he witnessed the guy walk off the rock and head off towards the destroyed town at a casual pace. He had no idea what the hell was going on, but he was damn well going to find out. He considered checking out the teleporter thing, which had beamed down Captain Kirk over there, but since it looked like a rock to him and he was losing sight of the person who had actually used the thing, he decided to follow dark haired fellow.

As he tried to stealthily follow the strange human-looking being, he remembered something and quickly doubled back to his camp. He picked up his family sword, which was hidden inside of a sports bag with the supplies needed to keep it in good condition and the ammunition for his gun, which was holstered at his side. he was currently wearing a light grey jacket, some ripped jeans covered with dirt and grime, and some beat up shoes he'd found in the garbage that were still wearable. His face was also rather dirty as well, and he was quiet sure he didn't smell that good either. The last time he had bathed was in a nearby river with only a sliver of a soap bar. So he wasn't absolutely disgusting, but he wasn't smelling like spring time either.

Once he had his stuff he hurried down to town, and looked around a bit more, thinking he'd lost his target until he saw him walking down the street, as if looking for something. Continuing to stalk from the shadows, he couldn't help but feel a twinge of fear rise up in him as he saw the amount of destruction that had been done to the town. What kind of weapon can wreak this much havoc, and what kind of technology could create it? I don't know who this guy is, but he's definitely not human if he's the one who did this?

With a bit more nervousness in his step, he continued to follow Bloodstone, though he was no longer sure if that was the right course of action at this moment.

Bloodstone could sense that he was being followed, but he was in a human disguise and he really just wanted some pizza so he played it cool and kept on walking. Coming across the pizza parlor, Bloodstone's shoulders drooped, "Awww, first the town is wrecked by some crazy freaking eye and now I can't get pizza. This day is just the best isn't it?" Bloodstone walked away hoping to find some other source of food but for the time being he needed to lose the trail of this stalker.

Bloodstone swerved through roads and alleyways to try and lose the creep until he came across a dead end. Turning around, Bloodstone hoped the pursuer didn't turn the corner, but if he did this wouldn't be a terrible place to leave his dead body. Besides, it would probably be blamed on the wreckage instead of a human.

Aquamarine carefully walked through town, debris everywhere even buildings toppled left and right or just piles of non existent ash. Humans were running around in chaos, trying to help others or just in fear that whatever strange thing that happened would happen again. They either completely ignored her as if invisible or stared with different array of emotions making her keep guarded in case something happened. Her heart went out to them as she looked upon the devastation, making her clutch the small icy orb in her hands closer to her chest wither it was for comfort or to protect the gem inside she could not say. It felt like her fault that this had befallen them and if they forced her to leave it was not like she could blame them but it hurt to think about none the less. Aqua stopped on her journey every now and then to help heal a person though she unfortunately couldn't move them to safer locations do to Emerald being in her hands; as it was she had to place him in her lap when healing a person. Her eyes secretly searched for Johnny, the only human they knew so far in this town and prayed that he was alright since she had told him to help his town evacuate.

Unfortunately for Bloodstone, Reggie curiosity made him a persistant stalker, continuing to follow him through the town until he made it to the deadend alleyway. It was only when he made it to this point that ne realized that this may not have been the best idea, in fact, it may have been the worst idea he'd had in a while. [i]This guy is most likely responsible for blasting the town to smithereens, and I'm stalking him into a dark alley. Fuck, I'm going to be so dead if I go out there . . . and yet I wonder.[i]

Reggie's curiosity about the warp stone and what kind of technology this being possessed was overtaking his common sense. He couldn't just leave him be, it's not like he's ever going to run into another one anytime soon. This is a once in a lifetime opprotunity. That being said, he wasn't going out there unarmed, that would br beyond suicidal. He put down his sport bag and pulled out the sword, still sheathed, from it's depths. Attaching it to his side, and making sure his DE was fully loaded, he took a calming breath before stepping out into the open. His sword was visible, but the gun was hidden by his jacket for the most part, though it could still be seen if you looked hard enough.

"Hey, my name is Reggie and you . . . you're not from around here, are you? I kinda saw you step off your warp pad thing, pretty cool by the way, and was kinda, ya know, curious about it. That and whatever other kind of tech you have, as it seems really interesting. Also, quick question, are you invading the planent or something, because if not, coukd you explain why ya blew up Mohs town . . , if you want to, that is."

Curse my curiosity, I'm so fucking dead, I already know it. While Reggie's stance was relaxed, his hand was placed nervously on his sword, using his thumb to push it forward while his other hand was casually positioned closer to it, in case ne needed to draw the blade really quickly. Though, if this fucker has a blaster, this swird isn't going to do me much good.

There were several things Johnny was aware of as he was brought back from the brink. The first was that he felt like he had been put in an oven set to broil, every inch of his skin roiling in pain. The next was the irritating buzzing noise that wouldn't go away, it wasn't like actually hearing anything but it was internal and scratching at the back of his head. Finally came the pain at his abdomen along with the wobbling. As he cracked his eyes open he was blinded momentarily by the light. Within moments he was acclimated to the light but something else was wrong, his left eye was swelling shut and blurring his vision. Beyond that his clothes were heavily damaged by the explosion, ruining his jacket beyond repair but the most tragic damage came to his favorite shirt. Large burn holes were everywhere and several tears crossed out the print on it.

"'Scuse me sir...but I, I can walk on my own." Johnny said, his words weak. It took some time and vigorous arguing on Johnny's part before his savior let him walk on his own, with a shoulder to lean on of course. With a forlorn look on his face, Johnny surveyed the area and felt a small amount of guilt for what happened. Something in the back of his head beyond the ringing telling him that he had a part to do in this carnage. "Damn....damn." was all Johnny could say as he looked on.

"Look, kid. I don't have time for this. I just need something to eat and now that the town is wrecked, I don't think I'll be getting it. So if you want to live five more seconds, I suggest you keep your hands off the blade, drop the firearm, and let me go my own way. Otherwise, I will kill you on the spot and everyone will assume you died because of the wreckage." Bloodstone looked on and waited for an answer, mentally preparing for anything this kid tried to do. 'As fun as it may be, I really don't want to kill a human when I could be eating food.'
