Adam Steven, a young collage graduate. After nearly four years studying in collage, Adam had finally began to persuade his long-life goal to become a successful novel writer. One could say that he started pretty solid, but it turned out to be a slippery slope into becoming that one guy who question about his life every day, lamenting over his countless failures.
Today was just another day for Adam, looking for idea while stretching his head in front of his computer displaying nothing but empty sheet of Microsoft word document paper. Just last night, Adam received a call from his Editor-in-charge, informing him that this will be his last chance to get on his feet and produce a successful piece of work. Naturally, Adam is now on his pits end, unable to come out with anything worthy of readers' attention.
He had considered going outside, walking on a park, or maybe randomly stroll around the mall looking for inspiration. But none so far had actually help him in achieving so.
"........."
The dimly light room had became his nest for the entire week. He couldn't really recall the time when he go outside for some fresh air, actually. In matter of fact, all he remember of outside world was how the mini-market nearby his apartment is lacking variety of goods he's looking for.
His eyes feels heavy, and the smell of unwashed tableware he used for the past three days is simply unbearable. It was then Adam decided to finally break his shell and go outside.
---------------
Cloudless sky and crowded street. The heat of sun was enough to instantly squeeze sweats out of Adam, but the intensity of busy crowds on the street was amazing in this near-summer season. People go back and forth, left, right, up, and down. It might confuses newcomers, but it's a regular sight for the resident of this city. The shopping district of the city was even more chaotic, located right nearby the residential area and the station. It's a popular place for people to stop by and release some steam. Mostly visited by teenager at day, although trend tend to change from time to time.
Fortunately, Adam had already have a destination in mind. Not long ago, his Editor recommend him to go to a certain cafe in this shopping district. His Editor didn't really point out what makes the cafe so great, but it was enough to catch Adam's attention. Oddly named in Germany, the cafe is named Weiße Katze (Weiss Katze ; White Cat) but most people call it Wei, for whatever reason. Adam don't seem to keen about it.
Entertaining the second floor of the building, he finally arrive to the cafe and greeted by a waitress wearing cat-ear accessory. Fortunately or not, she did not end her sentence with cat-like suffix. At least that somewhat explain the "cat" part of their name. While clearly taken aback by the odd welcome, Adam actually pretty impressed by the interior of the cafe. The wall is lightly colored in blue color, perfect for relaxation. Most furniture inside the cafe appear to be made of wood and crafted nicely with edge-less corners. And most of all, air conditioner. Truly the gem of modern technology he wanted to say, but he simply keep the idea deep beneath his delighted expression.
"What is your order, dear customer?"
The cat-eared waitress politely ask as she pass the menu to Adam. Waitress or maid, I wonder he thought for a moment there.
"A cup of coffee as starter I suppose, Blue Mountain"
"One Blue Mountain, coming right up"
The waitress respond and hurriedly return to the counter where she repeat the order she just received.
While waiting for his order to arrive, Adam decides to scroll his eyes around the cafe, in look for some interesting fella. First of all, the cafe is pretty crowded, as expected from famous place to say the least. Some notable individuals in the cafe includes a fairly-young woman wearing a suit, drinking her cup of coffee alongside a plate of pancake while diligently write on her laptop with one hand. Pretty unusual sight to see in place such as this. The other notable individual meanwhile is a guy wearing a leather jacket sloppily trying to find a nice comfortable position to sit while appear to be waiting for his order to arrive.
Interesting cafe, Adam simply thought that time.
