Jak enjoyed Pizza a lot but Lady Violetta not so much he was interested in some of the study courses but he was eating at the moment and it tasted better then the souls of the dead which tasted very sour and much like whisky and vodka mixed together.

Jak sat eating while he had an old book in front of him that he had brought down that he was enjoying a Shakespeare play called Taming of the Shrew which he was reading as he ate though making sure to wipe his hands before touching his book.

As he read he wondered if anyone was going to approach and try to talk with him, he quietly chuckled because he kind of suspected that people were too scared to approach him because they thought he was going to do something like steal their soul and why would he do that he didn't have any real purpose for it other than a reason for bragging rights among his brothers and sisters in hell that was silly if anyone thought that he was trying to adapt to their ways but he also didn't mind scaring people but not that much so he was saving most of his scares for a dance or something like that but he wasn't worried that anyone would bother him.

Jak looked up from his book for a second to scan the room for people he talked to before but also partially to beckon Shermie who had the Necronomicon or was it someone else?

Jak just wanted someone to talk to other than to read a book!

Ayaka saw Jak sitting and reading while eating his pizza. She decided to just wave at him instead of getting up to talk to him. Not only was she already with Mystique, but since Lady Violetta called this a lecture, she wasn't sure she was allowed to do that. She wasn't even sure he saw her waving at him or not.

The whole thing seemed overwhelming, though. It was one of those too much information all at once, but the headmistress had to have a good reason for introducing this to them on day one. She made it clear they should pick their career as soon as possible and the sooner the better. Nothing but exploration seemed to interest her.

After raising her hand with a question she asked, "What independent study courses would be good for exploration?"

Having finished her meal to her own satisfaction, Elizabeth walked over to where Lady Violetta was, to listen to the next lecture. There was much information to take in, but it was good information. Elizabeth could finally get started. Adventure had always intrigued her, so a normal presumption would assume that the career in which Elizabeth would find interest in would be as a navigator or a captain, but this was not so. Instead, the mention of running her own country was what intrigued her most.

Elizabeth raised her and would say, after being called on, "I'm interested in this mention of running your own country."

Jak found much interest in the Arcaic Knowledge corse and the Spell Caster course he wasn't interested in any normal level of learning, so he put down his pizza and finished his last bite then raised his hand and said.

"I'd be interested in the Spell Caster course and the Arcaic Language course that you mentioned if I can Lady Violetta?"

jack ran over to the people talking."h-hey do any of you kow a way out of here?"jack then wondered where here even is

Wynn looked at the person running around like a chicken with his head cut off. "Why do you want a way out, there's free pizza. And magic and stuff." he said to the boy(@Blizz). Then his next question was directed at lady Violetta, "How do we participate in independent study courses?" The whole thing seemed very interesting. And apparently he was an overachiever, though he'd never had a title like that before. But hey, if he was in a new place, why not try something new, it could be fun learning all he could in this strange world.

Irena had an interest in most of those things. She wanted to explore, probably alone, but she was also interested in the world of spellcasting. It was a bit too much for her head so she decided to fill up her belly first.

It didn't take much of an while to do that actually, the girl was voracious and she had this habit of rolling up pizza slices until they turned into a cone. She wasn't shy on taking a good many slices for herself, after all, its not like she was paying for it.

"So, miss 'letta, is there a limit on how many of those we might pick?" she asked casually "I'm interested in becoming a spellcaster but I don't want to get involved with government or royalty or whatever, I'm more of the nomad tribe type you know?"

Lady Violetta always welcomed questions but this new student had gone berserk. She waved her hand at a breeze was sent to sweep the new student up and bring to her.
As she glanced at the various students, she began to speak

"I welcome all questions. Now for the first question asked.
Ayaka,all of them are good for the Exploration Team.
Elizabeth, then you will be very busy and will need more classes than the average student.
Jak, you will need to work hard at Archaic Language over the next two years. Spellcasting will not be offered this Level since you must understand and know the basics before moving to higher magics. Don't worry, I will offer it in the future.
Wynn, you will sign up for the ones that you wish to take. After I am done, each of you may choose which ones you want to take. I will post the schedule up tomorrow.
Irena, you may sign up for all of them.
Are there any other questions?"

Clara sat in the back of the room, unnoticed by most people. "I wouldn't mind being an explorer." She thought to herself. "But I don't want to work with a team. I'll do the classes, earn my way out of here, and then maybe I'll disappear into the wilderness and some random explorer team will get an anonymous tip every once in a while. It's not like I need the credit for everything." She nodded to herself, feeling confident in her plan. "First thing's first though, I'll need to know how to survive in this world. I suppose I'll have to play along with their rules, for now."

"You are here because you have a magical core and this Academy needs students that can pass through the Academy picture. Please give me your name and I'll assign you to a room. May I have a volunteer to help this student get caught up?" Lady Violetta asked.

"While this new student is being caught up to the rest of you, I will be conducting a one on one discussion with each student."

Mystique listened to the lecture and was trying to figure out what she was wanting to do as a career. She looked towards Ayaka to see if she was going to volunteer. If she did, Mystique would help her.

Thomas stood in the back. He did not care for pizza and could skip a meal. Supper would come soon enough.

Ayaka wanted to volunteer because that's how she was, but this new guy was already annoying her. He was what she thought of as 'one of those obnoxious people.' Well at least that was her first impression anyway. She looked over at Mystique as if to ask 'Should we volunteer to help catch him up?' To be honest, Ayaka was unsure about the idea.

Mystique shook her head slightly then changed her mind. She mouthed to Ayaka maybe we should so that we can see what kind of a person he is.

Ayaka understood that her new friend didn't want to, but then seemed to have suddenly changed her mind. As annoying as he is being at the moment, Ayaka decided they should as well. He did after all arrive after them so may not know everyone here got arrived in much the same way. She raised her hand to let Lady Violetta know that her and Mystique were willing to help.

Skotadi finally figured out who would be of the most help to her, everyone called her Lady Violetta, she decided that she would go up to her and see what she knew about this place. Skotadi walked towards Lady Violetta and inquired," Where exactly am I and what is with all this magic talk?" Skotadi looked around then asked a bit more politely as this was the question that she had really been dying to ask since she went through the painting," How does the portal inside of the painting work and does it choose specific people or just everyone who touches it?" She was extremely eager to hear the answer to her second question but knew that the first question would more than likely be more helpful.

Elizabeth's question wasn't answered completely to her satisfaction. What she had really been wondering was how many independent credits would be required of her. At the moment it was her assumption that it was over fifty independent credits, and would require a fifth level education. However, it was clear that she needed to acquire more information.

So Elizabeth rose her hand and would say, once called on, "Even with that position requiring of me extra work, I would still like to pursue it, and I was wondering how many independent credits that would require of me, and would I be correct in assuming that it is also an occupation requiring a fifth level education? I am, for first level independent courses, interested in archaic language, auras, and musical instrument, granted should a more pressing concern in the form of second level independent courses not have appeared before I have completed all of them. I am also interested in being what you called an overachiever. That is, I wish to study in both traditional and draconic magic."

Mystique noticed that there were two students that were new which meant that there were two who would need to be taught.
"Let's go ahead and volunteer to do both, ok?" she whispered to Ayaka.

Thomas walked over to Lady Violetta and spoke calmly.
"I'll bring these two up to the rest of the class. Skotadi and Wynn, please come with me."

Lady Violetta smiled.
" Thank you Thomas. Both of you please go with Thomas. He will Answer your questions.
Elizabeth, to run a country, you must know at least as much as anyone else. That means you must excel in every course that is offered to you. Including all independent course. Does that answer you question?"
