In my history, written before the UK nation came into play, Tsao bought the Cayman Islands from the UK, which was in debt after WWIII. So the Cayman Islands are technically independent. If I could go in to more depth I could say that the Cayman Islands has a mayoral office/town hall for discussions, and everyone (~60,000 people) pays rent to Tsao.

You know, with this RP being set in the year 2050, I'm truly amazed that a strong AI hasn't obliterated each and every single empire and fascist state with alarming impunity yet.

^ I'd agree with said AI. Those damn imperials and fascists. Liberty and self-rule, eh?

A few issues.

1. The property (land, buildings, etc) of the Cayman Islands is owned by private individuals, not Westminster. It wouldn't have been the United Kingdom's government's to sell. And as specified explicitly in your sheet, "the Cayman Islands are privately owned by the Director of Dominus." Private ownership does not entail political suzerainty. It isn't said, explicitly, that the islands ceased to be under British sovereignty.

2. Buying and selling territorial sovereignty isn't a thing, even if it had explicitly said that. I'm sure that if it was an option, Tsipras would be selling off half of the Aegean so that he could give the people of Athens more free stuff. But it isn't. Political sovereignty isn't a commodity.

3. Regardless of when which portions of our sheets were written (I believe I started mine when you were part way through a portion of yours), mine was accepted first.

4. I am actually totally fine with Dominus and the Cayman Islands possessing total independence from any government or state. I just thought it would add to the roleplay for the Cayman Islands to be under British sovereignty, but more or less fully administratively and almost fully legally independent. If you'd rather not, it's fine.

Loons and morons operating this RP as a grand strategy game, so I figured I'd pipe in with a pointedly timed and worded call for sanity.

Probably my favorite post so far.

I've got this bad feeling that the IC will eventually just turn into a world war between people who think that the war makes sense and people who think it's going to kill the roleplay. Have we forgotten about the whole "Roleplaying" thing? I mean, the point here is to PLAY a ROLE, right?

Keyguyperson for GM 2015.

<Snipped quote by Keyguyperson>

You are an experienced Rp GM it seems, have you ever had a problem like this happen in one of your sci-fi rps, and how in the name of God did you fix it.

I had a sci-fi RP like this, but thankfully there was one nation so powerful that if any other nations stepped over the line too far they would be eliminated. And that one nation didn't abuse his power (too much).

<Snipped quote by MetalLover>

Most of my roleplays have been character-driven, which tends to just erase the problem of "LOL I NUKE U U DED LOL". That said, it did happen once. It tends to be a death sentence if it's not the sole purpose of an RP. Of course, I'm a terrible GM, so you might be able to avoid that effortlessly.

If my opinion matters, I say we just let it happen. Nukes away. The rest of the roleplay for them will probably have a storyline similar to Fallout, though. Trying to put the pieces of civilization back together. It could be an interesting chain of events.

Anyway..
Gray warden, if you're going to take back Vietnam, we gonna have to work out some history as to why they would join France and not china.

Just a shout-out that Greater Russia is probably one of the main counterpoints to Chinese power (besides the nuke-crazed USAE) so we'd be open to an alliance if you come to the conclusion that your Southeast Asian colonies are under threat by them.

I like this, and the nations that are not completely eradicated will be forging even larger empires.

Maybe Antarctica can claim more territory than Antarctica... Nah, we have plenty of unused frozen wasteland to expand to.

I also forgot to add French Guiana to my claims; but, I think that you all know that it's France's.

EDIT: I added it to my sheet.

If Australia gets nuked you can just probably conquer it from the UK, I mean it is just a wasteland, just instead of Frozen, it is Hot.

Good point. I suppose any good weapons system needs to be tested in both extreme cold and irradiated extreme heat.

EDIT: I also feel like being that one nation at the South Pole that isn't even on the map is making people forget I'm here. Maybe taking the barren and irradiated remains of yet another continent will help with that.

I think that going to war just because of "getting more lands" or something like that is just dumb. We are roleplaying after all, not playing Victoria 2 or Hearts of Iron 3. We are supposed to tell a story about our nations, not go to war with each other after finishing a THIRD WORLD WAR.

We could do a second Cold War between Britain and other countries not affected by the Third World War. Instead of a Fourth World War. If this nation roleplay is going to turn into a Fallout-based nation roleplay, then I will be disappointed with you guys.

That's my opinion on the matter. We just have to follow the GM's words when he gets on and speaks his mind about this matter.

It's stylized as a crusade against Islamic extremism. Still, you have a point. This serves more use as a crisis to provoke international discussion than an actual war. I would recommend declaring by executive GM order that this war can't go nuclear, @MetalLover. In future, sure, but a nuclear war right out the gate is a bit silly.

I'm officially co-GM but I believe a decision of that importance isn't mine to make.

That is actually a good Idea, if the Peace talks with the GEC help end the War, we could have the world Itself devolve into a Cold War, with the Caliphate of Istanbul and its allies going being being in the cold war against one of the many nations that hates them (Preferably my nation of Ethiopia, considering the amount of allies I have) leading to a legitimate Nato vs Warsaw pack but instead of that a Orthodox Triple Entente going against whatever alliances or pact the Caliphate wants to form.

Please say if you agree or disagree with this, cause if I get enough people to agree with this idea, I might enforce it as GM.

Edit: I also say that this war Cannot go nuclear as GM, like not just in IC, this war cannot go nuclear. Its an executive order. I would be fine though, if you where to call of the Crusade now and start this cold war, cause that would be a great story for this Rp.

I'd like to note...The commonwealth was all for a cold war but with mexico and UTA and the SPQA all being fascists and the UTA sending troops half a world away it's perfect time to begin reclaiming america.

I agree with this plan, I just don't want to see another nation roleplay turned into a war-based nation roleplay rather than force on writing good stories.

The Cold War idea is a good one, because the world was under daily threat of a nuclear attack by either side. Plus, the The Krakow Wall could be similar to the Berlin Wall or the Iron Curtain. And we could have something similar to the Space Race/Space Age. Or make up a event/age based on the Information Age or the Digital Revolution.

I feel like a three-sided world is forming, actually. The Orthodox Triple Entente and friends, the more neutral, nonaligned nations (UK, GEC, etc.) and the crazy warmonger crusading nations (Mexico, USAE).

At the same time, calling off the crusade is equally silly. Instead, the conflict should be resolved diplomatically, or at least there should be a standoff that ends with no further conflict, and then a transition into the world's nations falling into discrete power blocs based on the events that just transpired.

We could have it end in an armistice similar to how the Korean War transpired. No real peace treaty and both countries could attack at anytime, but also fearing the repercussions of a full scale war.

I like this, I like this a lot.

The Orthodox Triple Entente vs The Europa Alliance (Possible Name, Caliphate, GEC, UK) vs Fascist Alliance (Possible Name, UTA, SPQA, Mexican Empire, and maybe the USAE)

I do also agree that it should be solved diplomatically.
