Summary: Set in the near year of 2022, our technology has drastically changed. Now no one gets by without a cell phone. It is their link to everything in their life. Everything is digital and writing by hand has been outdated. Everyone not only has a cell phone, but it's also linked to world wide wi-fi. People use their cell phones to pick outfits, purchase clothes, food, and the like. And with a touch of a button, they have anything they want. They also use their cell phones to communicate with friends, listen to music and find an escape. Those are things we're familiar with right now in 2015. The big difference between now and then is that without a cell phone, a person will die.

Think of the cell phone as a containment for your soul. It's charged by your own life force.

Another thing that is different about the cell phones of 2022 is that they play music but this music is different, it can take people into a digital realm called the DgtWld. (Short for Digital World) You can travel across the world and go shopping, or be taken to a sunset overlooking the Caribbean. The way this is done, is by extracting your mental awareness and relocating it elsewhere while still keeping your body bound to your current relation. Music plays a big part in everyone's life and almost everyone is immersed in it when not working or going to school.

Now with such technological advances, hackers have more opportunities to attack people aince everyone on one massive network. Because of this, the government has passed a secret underground project and has developed an application downloadable to certain people. This application allows the user to go completely into the DgtWld: mind, body and soul. These people are called Correctors who fend off the hackers and viruses that plague the DgtWld and threaten people's lives and well being. Correctors are hand selected by the government in their region, of course each country has only a select amount of Correctors who all fight for one cause and work together when necessary. The Gvn (Government) keeps everything tightly woven together so the public don't worry, so the Correctors are of course kept secret and only exist online.

Correctors have an expiration date though. They are only used to help fight for about 9 years. Some are pulled off earlier. Correctors are recruited at age 20 usually for the sake of being more mature and able to juggle a personal, professional and academic life. Not to mention, their minds and bodies are also more mature and capable of fighting frequently. They are placed under the wing of other Correctors who are at least 3 years their superior. Correctors are not allowed to tell normal civilians that they are Correctors as the general population does not know of the project that passed. Nor should they,

RP Starting Point and Closing Comments: We will be playing characters who are not 20, but around the age of 23-26. Those in school and with jobs will need to balance that out. Consider this a mix of Code LYOKO, Corrector Yui, Madoka Magica and Sailor Moon, dot hack or something. You can be male or female. And a big focus will be your cell phone, music, character development and a darker plot which I have planned already. So any antagonists will be mine to play as GM. After a player has gone through a full "Chapter" of the RP, they have the option to add on other characters who may be antagonists or special temporary cameos.

RP Timeline:

2015 - Japanese scientists unveil a new model of cell phones which link to the user's life force via microchip implanted in the back of their neck. This begins the boom in new cell phone design and soon a world wide wi-fi network is put in place.

2016 - Over 50% of the entire population now are using the new cell phone models which are very affordable. New applications are being released and sold through Apple and other major companies around the world. The general public is beginning to move over to a sleeker, more timely lifestyle of instant gratification.

2017 - The US and the Japanese Governments are the first to pass a secret bill that would allow the country to hire select people to help defend people from the onslaught of recent cyber crimes. Now 75% of the population is linked to the global network which is now giving people in rural areas new job opportunities.

2018 - Now everyone in the world is linked to the DgtWld and every major country is using secret Correctors to help protect their citizens.

2020 - Worldwide utopia seemed to have been reached. Life now centers around one's cell phone and music and most jobs cater to computers and security even though just years ago the world was in chaos with war and economic strife. With the entire world prospering, there is no little to no reported crime, hunger and famine are abolished and everyone seems happy with the progress made with technology for science and medicine.

2022 - Currently there are no signs of unrest, however in the DgtWld, a new era of terrorism is starting to rage against the Correctors and their scrutiny.

Corrector Info: Correctors are humans anywhere from age 20 to 29. They have been approached secretly by their Government usually by phone call, then an email. In the email, they are told to go to their local Gvn Office and once there, they are told of their new job. Refusal is not an option. They are paid well for their services and are not allowed to tell anyone of what they do behind the scenes. They are given applications which cannot be duplicated (read: hacked) and are monitored by the Government.

The application allow the user to transform into a digital being/avatar and enter the DgtWld fully.

They give the Corrector powers to fend off warring viruses and hackers. The App also give the Corrector tasks and other things to do. The powers Correctors are given can be downloaded by the application's store depending on their years in service and their individual performance. The Government wanted the Corrector to have limited customization in the beginning but as they progress, they'd be given more options. The application is called Cnnt (Connect) and it is always scanning the DgtWld for any signs of dismay. Notifications are sent to the cell phone of the user and once they all respond, they must sync up to a computer or cell phone and get to work.

Fighting: I am leaving this a bit open in some manners. I do not intend this to be a fighting roleplay nor do I want us to be going into battle every other page. Weapons and abilities will be up to the user. As stated above, different skills can be downloaded to one's user if you're a Corrector. However what you can do is limited upon how long you've been a Corrector and how well you do your job. Most skills come from their weapon of choice. For example, choosing a katana would grant the user excellent speed and agility with their weapon which would allow them to be very offensive. But then their defense and endurance may then suffer. If a Corrector picks a bow and arrow as a prominent weapon, they would have nice long range attacks.

It is possible to have no weapon and to use your fists. Your weapons are digital and can be reproduced within your body's limits. For example you could wield two katana at once but you couldn't use more than one bow and arrow since that's physically impossible. And if you're injured, regenerating a weapon is harder to do, due to mental and physical strain. But if your weapon breaks or falls into the abyss, you can easily conjure up another weapon with your mind. Your weapons are can be enhanced with elemental powers and may reflect a futuristic feel or something harkening back to fantasy fiction. It's up to you. Keep it within reason though.

As the RP progresses, you will be given chances to change your character's alias, skills and online appearance.

Microchips: Also known as MChips. Everyone has a MChip in the back of their neck. These are linked and synced up to your cell phone, laptop etc. Without a MChip present, you die. The MChip helps regulate your body and health. It helps you connect directly to the internet. It is your lifeline. MChips are implanted right at birth, ever since 2016. They store everything, they're your personal backup. It keeps track of passwords, information, etc. It's your memory bank for everything. Should you wish to listen to music, it allows you to do so without even needing headphones, transmitting music directly to your brain without disturbing anyone around it. It allows you to close your eyes and connect to a new destination across the ocean when you're stuck at the office.

Your MChip is your link to living.

Threats: Pretty self explanatory but why not? Threats of 2022 are much more serious. The stealing of one's identity and Mchip are much more of a concern than ever. Hackers are making more tough digitized threats known as Vs (viruses) that take the form of monsters in the DgtWld which seek out people and can kill them if they're linked by sending them corrupt information which could reach their Mchip and end their life undetected. People do have personal security (like Norton Anti-Virus) but hackers are finding ways to get around it and steal information and even blackmail people. If you can think of a crime, it's happening. Even murders.

The DgtWld: The Digital World is the world wide wi-fi network that was first established in late 2015. Users log in with their cell phone and microchip. They play music and can take their minds to other areas of the world. Humans cannot pull their real bodies into the DgtWld unless they have some sort of virus that is endangering them. The DgtWld is where you access the internet with your phone or laptop's web browser. There are virtual goggles and headphones made for people who want a more personalized experience when using the DgtWld. Normal people (non Correctors) cannot customize any sort of avatar in the DgtWld, as far as they know, that technology hasn't been invented yet. Also, Correctors give themselves an alias to go by so that hackers won't know their name, though if hackers wanted to, they could try to break into the Gvm computers and find out Correctors' identities.

The point of the alias is to just not use real names. Consider it a username.

Phones and Music: Your cell phone is your link to your life and MChip. Your music sets the tone of your life. You can listen to pretty much anything for free in the year 2022 since you pay a music tax yearly that covers the cost already. Your phone texts, browses the web on the go, calls people, records video, and does much more. Without your phone, you cannot access your MChip, phones are replaceable while MChips aren't but the phones are not cheap by any means as the entire world is now making the market change.

Expectations:

We will be using a Round system, something I've done for many years and it ensues people don't get left out or fall behind. The risk is that it can be a slow pace but having used it for a long time, I've learned how to ensure that those we continue to wait on, don't hold us up. A Round system makes sure each player posts once and only once. After you post, you must wait for me to post again before you can. There is no order but everyone needs to post promptly so we can keep moving and keep interactions fluid. The first post will be made by me and everyone will be free to post after that until I post again to end the round/start the next one.

Due to the pace, I expect you to post once a week, at least. If you can post twice (which means you probably post right after me) then that's fine. But a post a week should ensure a Round a week gets done which is slow but for an advanced story, that's not bad.

I expect OOC to be fairly active, even if me or my GMs are MIA, you're free to talk about the RP or things related to it. Or just how things are going for you personally, if that's your thing. If you're quiet in the OOC, it makes me think you're not interested or are too busy. Communication is awesome, you can never do it too much! An active OOC tends to lend itself well to an active IC.

I am not your mother, I won't hassle you for a post. I don't like to be hassled either. I have a life, I have threads to tend to and papers to write. I'm at the age where I assume everyone else will get things done if they really want to. If you need to drop out though, you have to tell me. If we're waiting too long, you'll be skipped and written off but for the love of all things awesome, don't look at me to clean up your mess. If you sign up, I trust you're able to manage time and motivation. Not motivated? Do something, say something but I am not going to go around to every player and give out feedback slips for you guys to fill out. Communication is key but it's not all on my shoulders.

Posts should be about 4-5 paragraphs but it is up for discussion.

RP/CS will be put here before they're added to the tab. When they are, you can edit your CS in here so it's no longer a mess of text because cleanliness does matter around here. And make sure you make a character that isn't a copy of another that's been approved. You can be unique and have fun with these powers. I'd also love a balance of male and female characters. If I need to repost another sister RP for this, I will. That one was called Hackers and the other was Dazzling. Both take place in the same world as this but both have us playing different variations of Correctors in the DgtWld. I'd love a modest group because it's easier to manage but just submit until the top says otherwise!

GM Notes: All of our characters will be very familiar with one another. They've been on the same team together so they should all live in Tokyo, Japan, from different areas. If your character is from Japan but raised elsewhere, they need to have been back in Japan before they're able to be recruited as a Corrector as the Gvn would only call on those who are integrated in their country and live a stable life.

Weapon of Choice:

Handheld Beat Cannon

Fashioned as something resembling a pistol with a base speaker on top of it, this heavy pistol is designed to fire a concentrated and consistent pulse of sound at a target up to 100 feet away. The pulse overloads the audio sensory connection of someone's MChip, turning whatever they might here into a cacophony of painful noise that renders people unable to function properly (one victim could swear they heard the word "Friday" over and over again). These pulses can permeate most headphones but they are a bit clunky, which leaves Atomik unable to do much in close combat. They also can't rapid fire large pulses, so if someone is able to move and gets around an initial mega blast, that leaves Atomik vulnerable as well.

There are different settings on the guns allowing for Atomik to customize how much and what kind of damage the guns do. Odd numbers are used for solo targets while even numbers are used for multiple targets. 1-4 solely focus on audio warfare with 1-2 being used for letting the sweet soothing sounds massage and heal a teammate or herself and 3-4 are not so kind inflicting damage upon miscreant's ears and brains. 5-6 fire a steady pulse that will flow against a target much like a stream or river. 7 deals a large concussive blast to try and take a target out of commission and end a fight, although it's at this point where Atomik starts to lose total control of the cannon. The dial on the cannon is able to be cranked up to 11, but so far Atomik hasn't had the need to go beyond 7. She's a little worried about what might happen in the higher numbers.

Personality:

• +Intelligent: Given the amount of time Maya has spent in the DgtWld prior to being a connector, he is very well versed in how it works and any exploits that might be available.
• -Unmotivated: As such, Maya is adverse to doing any kind of work, so he prefers to do as little as possible. If anyone is going to do a job, Maya is more than happy to let them do it for him.
• +Defender: Given the way he has been treated in his life, watching or hearing someone being ostracized for no good reasons is a sore spot for Maya and will inspire him to act. If anyone is being ignored or bullied, Maya will step in immediately on their behalf to fight for them.
• -Naive: Given his lack of social interactions in the real world, sarcasm is something of a foreign concept to Maya. So is deceit. If something sounds plausible, Maya will believe it, and combining that with his need to defended the "downtrodden" can get him in a lot of trouble.
• +Upbeat: In contrast to his real life mannerisms, Maya actually feels so at home in DgtWld that he sheds the introverted shell that he has cultivated offline and becomes completely relaxed and optimistic, more in tune with his current avatar.
• +Loyal: Once he gets to know someone, Maya will back them wholeheartedly into whatever situation they may face, as long as it doesn't interfere with his previous tenets of not picking on the "weak gazelle" so to speak, or if he can find someone to do the actual work aspect of whatever needs to be done to follow.

Time With Tokyo Sector: Joined as a trainee Corrector in 2018, been in Tokyo since the start of his career.

Background:
Maya is the only son of an Iranian immigrant father and a Japanese mother. He was born and raised in Niigata, while both his parents worked for a telecommunications company. His father was an electrician who moved post-Revolution and worked his way up the ladder of the union while maintaining a strict paternal structure in the home that when combined with his mother's cold passive attitude meant a very tough and rigid childhood for Maya. School wasn't much better. Lacking the immigrant populations of Tokyo and Nagoya, Maya's half-Iranian heritage made him stand out among his peers and he was a ripe target for bullying.

This constant belittlement in all aspects of life made Maya very timid and quick to withdraw in the growing online world at a young age. He refused to take out his frustrations on other people though, even when putting bullets into brains when playing popular online games. Instead he let himself get lost in whatever he was doing online at the time, music and visuals carrying him away from Mehdi's fiery anger over his slightly imperfect grades, and Ayame's indignant stare at his few successes. Even in school, when Ono Kenji slammed him against the fence every day for a month straight after accidentally scuffing his shoe, that anger and hatred washed away while Maya was lost in the online world.

When the DgtWld system was first gaining steam in Japan and the U.S., Maya was quick to hop onto the phenomenon. He saved for a few months to get one of the first MChips implanted and took to the virtual reality like a monkey to a hot spring. At first it was just a few secluded trips to his own private island to get away from it all and listen to music, but he started spending more and more time in the DgtWld. He was so enthralled by the potential this technology had, of being able to leave the physical plane behind and transport yourself anywhere you wanted your music to take you that he dedicated his studies towards making sure he could be able to contribute to such a beautiful achievement of modern science. This newfound dedication seemed to please his parents as well, so they let Maya continue on this course. Of course they didn't know Maya would do so well that he would be drafted to the Correctors squad. Not even Maya believed it at first, but once he got confirmation, he was thrilled to be able to have a more in depth role in protecting the world...as long as it didn't interfere with his time in virtual Antigua.

Given the lack of a base in his hometown, Maya was assigned to the Tokyo unit, able to leave Niigata for the first time. However upon arrival, he was subjected to the same kind of harassment he thought he had escaped a while ago, and the first avatar he was presented with prior to gaining the access to creating his own was that of a teenage girl. It was a big laugh among the senior connectors but on his first few trips into the DgtWld in this avatar, Maya wasn't getting stared at. He wasn't getting called a terrorist. He felt...normal. And it felt good. It felt liberating. So liberating that he kept the avatar even after getting clearance to change, only tweaking certain aspects to better fit the weaponry that he decided to outfit Atomik with when she first came into being. Besides, if no one was supposed to know about his role, it made sense to Maya for his avatar to be as far opposite from his true identity as possible. Despite the personal growth that has come with his time as a Corrector, Maya is still seen as a social outcast in the real world. He is known to his neighbors in the small Aoyama District flat for being a shut-off student training for his certification as a network administrator and technician, when in reality, he's just waiting for the next opportunity to get back into the DgtWld and make what he sees to be a bigger impact.

Favorite tv show or books: Haven't watched a proper 'tv show' in several years, but my favourite anime is probably Fate/Zero, if I had to pick right now. As far as books, I recently finished Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson, and it might actually top my list. I might be biased just because it was my most recent book, though. I like the Song of Ice and Fire books, though I don't watch the show.

Why do you like to write/RP: I like to experiment. I like to make characters that push my brain in various ways, and to take part in plots that do the same. I'm pretty understated IRL and I wouldn't say that I have much of a personality, but I like to play characters who are full of the stuff and have fun existing in their headspace. Sorry if that sounds a bit raw, but I've just been thinking about it lately, and that's the conclusion I came to.

Weapon of Choice: Katana (Unique style mixed with Tae Kwan Do.) She is fast and light on her feet, and enjoys moving around a lot during fights. She uses kicks to soften enemies up, then her katana to finish the job. She has upgraded her abilities a bit to be able to slash quite fast with her katana. In a style based mostly around mobility and speed, she moves around a lot, and strikes when an opponent reveals their weakness. However, while she excels in mobility, she is at constant risk due to her own lack of any sort of defense. Her fighting style demands that she always be up close to an opponent, but simultaneously that she not take any hits. It's always a risky gambit, and she relies heavily on support from her other teammates, even when it looks like she is going off alone.

If it's trendy enough, Karako is happy to upgrade phones frequently, but this is her current model.

Personality:
+Action-Oriented: If there's a task to be done, Karako wants to do it, and she wants to do it now. She has no trouble motivating herself to 'get up and go.'
+Trendy: Always having an ear to the ground, Karako feels the pulse of the city, new trends, gossip and rumors. She's always interested in any hot new tech or fashion.
+Devil's Advocate: Karako is able to think outside of the box and imagine scenarios from multiple perspectives. Although this makes her argumentative at times, it usually leads to new insight into a situation.
+Comrade: Though it takes a long time for her to warm up to you, once she considers you a friend, you're there for life. She does not handle betrayal very well.
-Cynical: Karako gets along well with individuals, but doesn't like 'society' as a whole. It's not as though she wants to pick a fight with everyone for no reason, but instead, she has the sort of mindset that makes her the first to laugh at a bad situation, or the first to get angry when things get unfair. She expects the worst, and it's hard to shock her when things turn south. But in return, she tends to complain a lot about nothing, and take a pessimistic outlook on life.
-Defeatist: While she is quick to start a task, and her self-confidence is usually sky-high, if she considers a task to be too difficult for her, Karako is even quicker to give up the ghost. She tends to lose all motivation after being defeated and needs at least some time to re-ignite her spark.

Background: "It's a trash name given to me by trash... but it's mine now. I'll clean up my own mess."

The Karasugawa family were a lower-middle-class clan of humble day labourers who owned a construction company on the outskirts of Kyoto. Their humility was their pride, and they named their first daughter in a manner befitting their worldview. 'Karako,' the 'empty girl.' For the first several years of her life, everything was going according to plan. she was a quiet child who liked to follow her parents' directions, learning about their trade and being indoctrinated into their lifestyle. Life was smooth sailing with little complication. But the rise of the new tech, new phones, MChips, the DgtWld, meant more demand for infrastructure, and an increasing demand for the Karasugawas' work. It had always been the case that after High School, Karako would be hired into the family business, but at age 15, her parents pulled her out before graduation to start work early.

Karako had other plans. Without any warning, she left home with little more than the clothes on her back and some stolen money to travel the country. She took a bus from Kyoto up to Tokyo proper, and made a small life for herself there for the next two years. She found ways of making money, whether legitimately or through criminal means, and found various places to stay. For two years she lived the life of an urban teen, both the light and dark side, and in doing so, her entire outlook on life was broadened and shifted greatly. But these things can't last forever. At age 17, she decided that enough was enough, and it was time to come back home to see her family. When she returned, her parents were initially happy to see her, though that didn't last long. The quiet girl they had known was gone, and in her place stood a wild beast. She had her own money and her own life, and 'following orders' seemed incredibly low on her list of priorities. Her parents had a phone for work reasons and because it had become absolutely necessary, but Karako was totally into the new digital culture and the DgtWld - something that her parents had declared to be morally corrupt.

For three years they lived an uneasy peace, with Karako's parents trying to guilt her into becoming the girl they wanted her to be, and Karako herself refusing sharply at every turn. She may as well have been spitting fire and brimstone. On her 20th birthday, her father decided that they had suffered enough abuse from this sharp-tongued and strong-willed girl. He publically denounced and disowned her, kicking her out of the house. He declared her morally bankrupt, and empty like her name, and that he would not stand for her criminal activities. Karako merely shrugged and left, deciding to move back to Tokyo. On her way, she received the call from the Gvn. She had been recruited into the ranks of the Correctors, which she accepted happily. Her prior criminal acts were to be pardoned (and limited in the future,) and she was going to be monitored, but she would still be able to hang around her delinquent friends (a sticking point she argued heavily.)

Her new job came with new money, and she was able to rent an apartment in downtown Shibuya through her old connections. It was a good location for her, because so many potential hackers or other criminals were young people searching for attention. Her hand was always on the beating heart of youth culture. After completing training she was assigned on-call to the current group of Tokyo-based Correctors, and has been with them for four whole years and counting. Content with her new life, she spends most of her free time wandering the city, hanging out with her friends, or training in Tae Kwan Do, which she had learned during her previous stay for self-defense. She bought herself a wooden sword (though she keeps it wrapped when she leaves the house to avoid attracting too much attention,) and most people to see her walking around might think she was the daughter of some Yakuza bigwig, but that works just fine for her. Nobody screws around with her.

Its my hobby, beside the trill of creating world and characters to play around. Exploring settings and following adventures, I like to write to improve my English grammar and word order, a big weakness of mine. And its a ton of fun.

He prefers close range and mid range for fighting. He uses the hammer to cause shock waves when he lands a hit, beside the clear physical aspect of hitting something with his hammer.
Using one hand for normal attacks, swinging attacks horizontally and vertically alike, while holding it with both hands and hitting it on the ground causes the ground to shake up, and may cause his opponents to lose balance, a opening he would try to use. When he swing it on a small chain that is attached to the end of the handle he uses the hammer as a shield. The faster he swing it in a circle the better of the shield it will be.
He upgraded it with the ability to raise the weight of the hammer, so when hitting something it natural causes more damage. He needs to concerted to shift the weight, needing some extra time to do the changing. Over the years he trained to raises his pain tolerance with concentration and breathing exercises. He fights a bit recklessly but tries his best to not be too reckless, and pull his team in danger.
He lacks speed, which makes him prefers to either taunt his opponent or work together with someone who would hold the opponent down. He is quite good at cleaning large amount of weaker opponents in short time, like viruses and similar.

He is like a social butterfly knowing a lot of people and enjoying the company to spend time with. He isnt much of a loner as he finds it troubling. Whenever alone he always busy himself with something. Knowing lot of people doesnt mean he has a ton of close friends. There are friends he likes to party with and there are close friends he prefers to turn to when he feels down or is in need for understanding company.

He isnt the person who paints the world back, even if the situation is bad he would try to find something positive or something to laugh at. He likes to have smiling people around himself, so he start from himself to always find a reason to smile in the end of the day.

He values his friends in general, but for his close friends he is ready to jump in a fight with out knowing the reasons for it, to help them out. If they need something he would try to go out his way to find a way and assist them. Letting a friend hanging or turning your back on someone you respect and care for is not something a true man does.

If he set a goal he would work hard and over hours to achieve it. If he fails the first time he would pick it up again and try to achieve what his goal is. Repeating it until he success or he cannot do it again.

Background:

Milos grandpa was born in Serbia moving to Japan on a opportunity, falling in love with the country and woman f his life, he founded his family there. He loved Japan as his home, but he loved his birth country too. When his sons wife gave birth to a grandson it was him who insisted that the boys name was Milos.

As both parents of Milos spent a lot of time working he was often left to be baby-sited by his grandfather. The energetic grandfather was filling the boy all kind of stories about his homeland and Japan. Most stories being of brave man and strong heroes who changed fates of their world. It was the best time for Milos, he remembers it as a never ending summer adventure with his grandpa.

He was ten years old, his parents got in a disagreement with his grandfather. Milos wasnt told what the fight was about, but the fight was the reason his parents later that year moved away to Tokyo. Milos hated it, not understanding as no one told him why they were moving away from his favorite person.

The reason behind it was that his grandpa never really approved of Milos mother, thinking she was a person fixed on his son salary instead of loving him. His son didnt believe the old man, the fights claimed down when Milos was born but several years later the grandpa started to complain once again. One of those worse fights made Milos father decide it was time to move away and cut ties with his stubborn father.

Milos was forbidden to even call his grandpa, really trying not to disappoint his parents he tried to do as they wished. Going to school his grades were in average, when the more rebellious years came around he started to skip classes to go and play video games in the close by internet cafe. Finding the school education quite stupid and useless. His parents noticed the grade drop being informed about the class skipping, one thing lead to another and Milos ended up with house arrest and his own new model of a cell phone intended to help their son better his grades. His grades did improve a little bit, and Milos mood was high again too. His parents proud they did the right thing for their sons future. What they didnt knew was Milos used the new technology to speak after years again with his grandpa. It was a cheerfully time for him. With his low average grades he couldnt get into any university so instead he took on design courses.

This new area of design and art he explored made him realize something that wasnt all that heroic or manly, he had a weakness for cute adorable things. From dolls, toys to cute video songs and others. Feeling embarrassed he liked those things he hide this trait away from anyone but the really close friends of him. It was not manly at all, he didnt want to appear weak or girly. No brave heroes were like that. He found a job where he worked from home on advertisement creations. Now having his own salary he moved away from his parents to his own little rented flat.

It was for him a shock when he was called to a meeting where he was offered to be a corrector. At first he was thinking that he did something wrong or bad. Once he was ensured it wasnt like that, he accepted it swiftly. This was the adventure he always dreamed off. Just like in some of his grandpas stories, he will be saving the world by heroically fighting for the good of all people. He was loving his new job. Starting to daily work out to get stronger in real world so he could fight even better in the Dgtwld. Concentrating mostly on lifting weights and raising his strength all around. Picking on breathing techniques as well as mental training to get better at handling any pain from fighting.

When he was 21 his grandpa died of old age. He felt devastated, using work to drown his sadness. Working harder than before and working even more out so he wouldnt spend time thinking about the old man and the times as a child he spent with him. The corrector he worked with played a big part in this period, making him feel as he was around a second family. A family that supported him, how could he let them down then? So he tried hard not to let them down either, wanting to support them just like they were there for him. Learning to push himself even over the border of his energy and strength all because he was too stubborn to give up.
As time passed Milos grief passed too. He still missed the old man, but he promised himself he would always remember the stories he was told as a boy and one day go visit the country his grandpa so loved. He become more serious, while keeping his happy positive attitude to the world.

Favorite tv show or books: Not much of a TV or Book guy- relationships and textbooks cover most of those- though I did watch some Game of Thrones and Breaking Bad to prevent myself from being ostracized by society. Most of my media viewing time is spent on youtube, and I do enjoy some thriller books from Dean Koontz and Lee Child.

Why do you like to write/RP: I find RPing, poetry, and creative writing in general to be a good stress reliever and an excellent source of brain stimulation. The ability to play out concepts that form up in my brain-regions is also a plus.

Precision Rifle. In combat Akihiko uses a high powered digital rifle with a 10 round magazine and carries 3 extra magazines. His weapon scope's magnification is adjustable, allowing him to be effective at medium to long range combat. His close range combat skills are limited to techniques he has learned while offline. Akihiko prefers to conduct combat frm afar and has a calm and methodical approach to combat. Akihiko's most recent upgrade allows him to create a digital hoverboard for him to use as a method of relocating himself. The hoverboard is capable of extending short digital 'fields' from its sides, increasing the overall width of the board to around 2-3 feet, allowing it to be used as a temporary/mobile source of cover.

Background:
The middle child of 3, Akihiko Takara is the second son of Lt. General Yoshiro Takara, commanding officer of Japan's Central Readiness Force. At a young age, Akihiko was immersed in the rigidity of military culture, and the ideas of pride and duty were instilled within him. Throughout his childhood, Akihiko was observed to be rather logical and learned extremely quickly, easily outpacing other children his age. As a child, Akihiko only saw his parents sporadically, as they were both busy with government related work. As a result, Akihiko and his younger brother spent most of their early lives under the care of their eldest brother. Developing a strong relationship with his siblings, Akihiko assumed the role of taking care of his younger brother as their eldest left for university.

In high school, Akihiko scored exceptionally high marks. He adapted well as newer technologies started appearing- the DgtWld and the widespread use of phones and MChips. These newer technologies, coupled with Akihiko's progressive attitude and logical nature actually made it easier for Akihiko to excel in his classes and studies and helped propel him to the top tiers of his class. Upon graduating high school, Akihiko recieved a scholarship and was enrolled in the National Defense Academy of Japan in Yokosuka. At NDA Akihiko studied information systems and computers, specializing in DgtWld Security and information protection. Akihiko was slated to join the Japanese Self-Defense Force's Military Intelligence Command before he was approached by the Gvn with a different purpose in mind.

The Gvn recruited Akihiko into a group known as "The Correctors". Allowing Akihiko to complete school alongside Corrector training, Akihiko was put through a specialized version of the JSDF's basic training. Here he learned firearms usage and combat tactics- for both offline and online purposes. For his first 3 years of service, Akihiko was part of the Corrector team in Osaka as a trainee. The majority of the Osaka team was like him- recruits and veterans gathered from military academies and backgrounds. The Osaka Team worked like a military/police unit, the only difference was that they were DgtWld operators as opposed to real-world operators. A top-tier anti-hacker team, the Osaka Team were one of the most highly regarded teams in Japan, with a high track record of completed missions. Fully completing both military and Corrector training at the age of 23, Akihiko was transferred to the Tokyo team as a support unit and potential trainer for newer recruits.

Now having spent 6 years as a Corrector, Akihiko is among the senior members of the Corrector team in Tokyo. With his saved up wealth and Government connections, Akihiko has purchased a the top floor of a small apartment building in the Shinjuku Ward. After several secretive renovations, Akihiko has converted the apartment to a small base of operations from which he handles various manners of activities- from surveillance to information gathering. He spends what little free time he has on the streets of Shinjuku, at coffee shops or bars.

@vietmyke Needs to post his CS and we'll be good to good. I am sincerely hoping that with us in a small group (a trusted one, no less~) we won't hit a lot of snags with inactivity and such. :3 I want to give a big thank you for you folks for sticking with this.

As a treat, I have enclosed the prologue to my Corrected and Connected novel which I've been working on in my many workshops in college. It is set in London, as opposed to Tokyo but there will be a reason for that and I'd be more than happy to share more details of the world state and how things ended up as "utopian" as they are now. There will also be something called Unification Day, which is the day in which all hell and strife ended and we entered a new era. I've been accused of setting this all "too close" to the year we're in now but it's done on purpose so fuck em. I was also discouraged to use the abbreviations but I probably will in final edits for myself and all.

Look forward to the intro, it is going to be very familiar to the previous one so I'm tweaking my old intro, so feel free to do the same. In the meantime, you're free to read this, as I think it may help us get back in the moooood~

Prologue

Friday the 12’th of December, 2025
9:37 in the morning

Only a slim fraction of studious students and pestering clouds of mist occupied the lawn in front of Merton College of Oxford University. James had his back to the aged buildings and had found momentary solitude beside the River Cherwell that snaked southward away from where celebrations were undoubtedly underway in the dormitories. “Professor Cantrell, your hiding spot shouldn’t be so predictable, it defeats the purpose.” A woman’s playful voice broke the wintery silence, followed by the rustling of bushes which flung droplets of dew against the merlot colored jacket of Sasha Tyler. Her pale eyes matched the overcast sky above the pair of co-workers who now stood face to face. “Coming all the way up on the M40 to get you, gets quite stale after the ninety-third time. I was stuck behind two caravans at one point, I seriously considered ending it all. You would think people would give up such tired traditions and stop being eyesores that slow everyone else down. Although, even with Unification Day upon us, the motorways weren’t horribly congested.” She contended and gave her hood tug, it fell back to reveal her shoulder length wavy hair and a thin silver necklace with an amphora dangling against her bare collarbones. As a fashion blogger and co-owner of one of the most popular online stores, Sasha was dedicated to not only looking posh, but writing high quality content for anyone to savor and crave.

“Not everyone it seems, there are some students who’d much rather spend time studying than go down to the pub.” James pointed out as the pair made their way across the lawn towards the sparsely filled car park of sleek cars. Upon their approach, the car unlocked itself and opened its doors for the two approaching occupants. “I have tried encouraging them to take a break and enjoy themselves-“

“You?” Sasha cut him off as they got inside the vehicle, which promptly buckled them up and turned on the heater for them. “You’re the last person I’d hire to inspire tomfoolery.” She let out a dry laugh as her black BMW made its way out of the quaint scholarly cove and back onto the M40. “As much as I wanted to hit the stores in NYC today to finish my Christmas shopping, I don’t hate that we’re spending Unification Day together. The three of us hadn’t been notified by work in a few days and I was beginning to wonder if Hackers were the sort to adhere to holidays but then again, we had our hands full last New Year’s Eve.”

“Ah yes, my mother wanted to know how I got my black eye, broken nose and broken ankle.” James lamented, thinking back to that massive battle. “Someday she’s going to stop kindly stop accepting my lies and demand the truth.”

“My parents worry too, James. You’re not the only one who has to lie, keep up a fabricated double life and risk their life for an invisible cause. But what we’re doing is right, what we’re doing is justice.” Sasha said as she looked at him, her hands leaving the steering wheel as she reached over and placed her left hand on his shoulder while her right hand curled around her necklace, a graduation gift her parents had given her when she got out of high school. “Besides, our injuries aren’t as taxing as they used to be. Remember being a kid and hitting your elbow? The pain, the scar, the healing would take days but now it only takes hours. We’re lucky and I’m proud to be able to protect these people so the most they have to worry about, is a scrape and not being killed or infected with some hyper-virus created by Hackers.” The car continued to drive on its own while she swiped over her cell phone’s hologram library and uploaded a book to appear on the windshield in a semi-transparent format so she could drive and do some reading. James on the other hand, pulled out a hardcopy of a book and focused on it instead.

What would normally have been a two hour ride twenty years ago, was a mere twenty minute dash along the motorway due to the efficient engineering advances. Driving was no longer dull and grating, but intelligent, smooth and stylish. The car Sasha was piloting had been obtained thanks to the government’s early Christmas bonus and she was loving the new features like Driver Scanner which would periodically scan the driver’s retina, internal body temperature, heart rate and other neurological patterns in order to automatically adjust the car’s seat position, temperature, tint of windows, mirror positions and other intricate settings. As they neared the bakery where their third and final co-worker was frosting cakes or baking cookies, the car automatically turned the radio’s volume down and turned off the reading application in front of the passengers, having taken a cue from its driver. “Grab him, will you?” Sasha nudged James as she stopped the car in front of the bakery, having long forsaken the quest to find parking in the middle of London and instead relied upon the use of human pigeons like James or Devon.

From inside Vicarious, an elderly women had just finished placing an order of Unification Day themed pastries with the symbolic large circle containing three smaller circles inside it, in the typical white buttercream color. Behind the counter, a man with blond hair was closing the lid of a white box, his tongue tracing the top edge of his lips as if taping it were a perilous task that only he could conquer. Beside him, a woman with thick rim glasses was tending to the next order with a smile, not needing to concentrate as hard as her friend. James stepped inside and quickly closed the door behind him to ward off the drizzly breeze outside. “Come on, mate, Sasha’s outside waiting.” Devon glanced toward Jen who waved at James and motioned for Devon to take off. Devon gave her a toothy smile and pulled off his apron, which listed him as: Devon Marlow, Head Pastry Chef, and hopped over the counter. He gave Jen an apologetic shrug and then dashed out the door and into the car with James following behind in a more orderly manner, holding the door open to the man who had just picked up the order Devon had finished.

“After knowing you two years, I still don’t get it. You can shoot waves of lightning and fire at a dozen viruses, but you can’t get your license, come on James!” Devon taunted his mate as Sasha merged back into the morning traffic. “I refuse to Log In with you until you’ve proven you’ve got the balls to get behind the wheel of a fearsome Vauxhall Corsa.” He folded his arms across his chest in personal protest. “Did you guys have any plans for Unification Day? I was going to close up early and grab a drink with Jen but it seems the Government has other plans.” He huffed, lips pouting.

“I had plans to meet up with some students who are struggling in class and use the day off to get them up to speed.” James replied and looked out the window which turned from smoky black to transparent.

Dropping his expression, Devon finally shed his bubbly exterior as they neared their place of employment. “You teach Biochemical Engineering and Compatible Life Support Syncing, I don’t blame them for falling behind.” He gave a shrug.

“Given our microchips have been mandatory for nearly a decade, people need to understand them and once they do, they can improve.” James said flatly.

The car pulled up to a curb and a man in a black suit with white opaque wraparound sunglasses opened the driver’s door, causing the twenty-four year old’s arms to unfold. “There’s never any traffic at the London Headquarters, doesn’t strike you as weird?” Devon mumbled and opened his door and got out behind James.

“What’s weird is that you never bring over any cupcakes, not even on my birthday.” Sasha said as she handed the man in the suit her keys, a routine which had developed over the past four and a half years of her working for the Government as a Corrector, under a secret organization which maintained the order of online activity. A Corrector prevented identity theft, digital larceny, murder and other criminal acts. Correctors were the invisible line of defense that the world unknowingly trusted to keep them and their personal information safe. “I would even settle for week old cupcakes.” Sasha begged as the trio headed up the steps and into their second job. Inside, there was a crescent shaped reception desk and a single hallway leading back into the bowels of London’s HQ. The only thing standing between the public and any secrets, was a thin black metallic door frame with another man in a suit with red sunglasses standing in front of it. As soon as their microchips on the back of their necks were scanned and they were let past security, Sasha’s mood shifted. “There’s no such thing as a day off boys, let’s get to work.”

The three Correctors made their way down the narrow hallway to the second door on their left and the guard outside scanned their microchips once more, before allowing admittance. Devon gave the man in the black suit with golden sunglasses a salute before the glass door slid shut behind the blond baker. In the room, there was a single round black marble table with three laptops with black large leather chairs in front of them. “The notification said we’ve got two viruses in the W-9-R coordinates.” James said as he took a seat and removed his cell phone from his slacks. “These hackers picked the wrong day to mess with us.” The other two took their usual seats and soon their procedures were finalized and they were ready to get to work. All it took to break the barrier between reality and the digital world, was a simple sync between their microchips, their government issued application and the internet.

“See you guys on the other side.” Sasha sang and with a swipe of her finger, across her oval phone, her body went limp. James and Devon’s bodies also went limp and their consciousness were carried into the digital world and locked within their government issued avatars which granted them abilities to create magic out of code, create justice out of ruthlessness.

Four minutes later, a cyclone of glittering flames came barreling towards Sasha who dove out of the way. “Shit!” She yelled and rolled onto her back and put her hand to her left calf, fully aware the pain she felt would be even worse when she got home to her flat that night. She’d be lucky if the burns weren’t second degree, as those were still tricky to heal. Behind her, she heard her teammates urging her to hold down the two enemies who were thwarting their attacks thus far. Sasha rolled over and got to her feet and ran towards the fray, pulling her sword out as the boys moved out of the way. Letting out a grunt, she swung the white weapon, the ivory grip decorated with etching of roses and thrones, the blade a deep ruby. No longer did she wear her civilian clothes, but now had on tight grey body armor. Her ordinary brown hair was now the color of sapphire and pulled back into a long bow, as if it were a ribbon adoring a priceless gift.

“Urkwia, get back!” James’s voice called out to the female knight who had a white shield strapped to her back. There was no time for her to get it and defend herself as one of the purple globs attacked her, sending out a barrage of poisonous shards. All she could do was raise an arm to deflect whatever she could. “Hideo, try freezing them!” She called out as she felt the toxins hit her flesh, burning her like acid.

The scholar hailing from Oxford gave a nod and quickly flipped to a trusted freezing spell in his brown book and recited the spell as he extended his free hand toward the two piles of crap between their leader. “Duratus in aeternum!” With a quick motion, he froze both viruses and Sly ran over to Urkwia. He helped her up and took her back over to Hideo who was quickly trying to find a healing spell that would stop the infection from progression, as where the woman had been attacked, craters of dead skin were beginning to appear. “Um…” Healing in the Digital World was complicated and wouldn’t be as effective as Logging Off and getting medical attention but they often didn’t have that immediate luxury of stopping to lick their wounds when nefarious people were sending parades of complicated codes to kill people or rob banks. “Qualicumque dolor et curaret venenum.” With a wave of his fingers over the crouching knight, some of the holes were patched and the pain had gone from a six to a four, which meant she could still lead her team back into battle, because it wasn’t even close to being over.

“Sly, why don’t you fashion us a static, continuous maze so we can trap these things and separate them?” Urkwia suggested as she got to her feet. They could trap one while getting rid of the other so that they wouldn’t get overwhelmed again. “Clearly these things like working together, I want us to change that.” She pulled her sword back out and put on a smirk.

Gonna be pretty busy this month moving across the country, just so folks know. Would have brought it up sooner but plans only really solidified a few days ago. That said, I want to sit down and give my post the respect and time it deserves, and I also wanna spend a bit chewing on that prologue you wrote, Genkai-sama. It's super interesting to me that you're writing the story out for class, so I wanna see how you've laid it out when it's just you writing it, since that changes a lot of things.

All that said, my point is that I might not have a post up in just a day or two like I'd like to. I'm GMing my own RP as well, so that fills in some small gaps in my free time. But I will have something within a few days-ish. Odds are one night I'll just spend a few sleepless hours hammering something out, if I know myself.

So yeah. TL;DR, moving in the beginning of august (will let you guys know the exact date because I might not have 'net for a week or so when I actually move into the new place.) Shouldn't affect my schedule in the overall scheme of the RP, but for this week I might be a bit scarce. Expect a post before too long either way.

I've been trying to write the C&C story down for years but starting was always so tricky, like when do I start, where, with what characters? I'm so happy I can finally flesh this world out properly and I'm also able to put it into the RP and give it some new life and layers. I've had so many ideas and details and I hope that I can continue to move them along since the ball is finally rolling.

I hope you do well with moving, I'm still trying to adjust from our move which was less than a month ago. Crazy times, so many boxes and so little will to do anything haha. I am sure you'll have something for me when it works out for you, I know you're the kind of person who may vanish but who often pops back up when I light the Bat Signal. :3
