Dick tried to focus on the pool game, but with the conversation going on he often looked at Tim to see what he was thinking, and then the other times he was focused completely on Abbie leaning over the table--which was BAD of him! Dick has an almost invincible sense of willpower. He could withstand Scarecrow's fear gas, he could be being interrogated and beaten within an inch of his life with a gun at his temple and he'd never crack... But he kept finding himself looking over at Abigail more than he should. When she said she left shortly after he did, Dick knew she didn't, and so did Tim, but they simply nodded, giving looks of relief. "Well I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt except for those thugs."
His attention turned to Abbie when she said she had a question for him. The question made Tim snort a bit trying not to laugh. Dick guessed that he thought it was funny to hear Bruce's "prodigy" a jerk. Dick gave a faint smirk and looked at Abbie before leaning over the table himself, aiming for a ball. "I never saw him as a bad guy. Like Batman, a lot of people didn't trust him, or hated how he did things..." He shot a striped ball in to a pocket. He walked over to the ball again, having to take aim from behind his back. "A lot of the criminals say Nightwing's originally from Gotham." Dick said casually. He made another ball in the pocket before looking at Tim, then at Abbie. He moved to his next ball.
"People warmed up to him after a while of him fighting crime there. I was there when he stopped Penguin's gun trade. I was there when he stopped Poison Ivy trying to test out her new poison on Bludhaven before Gotham. And through all the tabloids, and the media, and what people say about him and Batman..." Another ball sunk in to a pocket. "I've noticed that people often forget that these guys aren't police. They don't have a set of rules handed to them when doing this stuff. They have to make their own rules, and sometimes they have to bend a few of their rules to make sure everyone's safe." He sunk yet another.
"So I don't Nightwing is a jerk... He's probably nervous coming back, and taking on a city that once belonged to his supposed mentor." Dick shrugged, shot, and missed. He looked up at Abbie, and gave a shrug. "It's hard being the new kid on the new kid on the block."
