Dick tried to focus on the pool game, but with the conversation going on he often looked at Tim to see what he was thinking, and then the other times he was focused completely on Abbie leaning over the table--which was BAD of him! Dick has an almost invincible sense of willpower. He could withstand Scarecrow's fear gas, he could be being interrogated and beaten within an inch of his life with a gun at his temple and he'd never crack... But he kept finding himself looking over at Abigail more than he should. When she said she left shortly after he did, Dick knew she didn't, and so did Tim, but they simply nodded, giving looks of relief. "Well I'm glad to hear that no one was hurt except for those thugs."

His attention turned to Abbie when she said she had a question for him. The question made Tim snort a bit trying not to laugh. Dick guessed that he thought it was funny to hear Bruce's "prodigy" a jerk. Dick gave a faint smirk and looked at Abbie before leaning over the table himself, aiming for a ball. "I never saw him as a bad guy. Like Batman, a lot of people didn't trust him, or hated how he did things..." He shot a striped ball in to a pocket. He walked over to the ball again, having to take aim from behind his back. "A lot of the criminals say Nightwing's originally from Gotham." Dick said casually. He made another ball in the pocket before looking at Tim, then at Abbie. He moved to his next ball.

"People warmed up to him after a while of him fighting crime there. I was there when he stopped Penguin's gun trade. I was there when he stopped Poison Ivy trying to test out her new poison on Bludhaven before Gotham. And through all the tabloids, and the media, and what people say about him and Batman..." Another ball sunk in to a pocket. "I've noticed that people often forget that these guys aren't police. They don't have a set of rules handed to them when doing this stuff. They have to make their own rules, and sometimes they have to bend a few of their rules to make sure everyone's safe." He sunk yet another.

"So I don't Nightwing is a jerk... He's probably nervous coming back, and taking on a city that once belonged to his supposed mentor." Dick shrugged, shot, and missed. He looked up at Abbie, and gave a shrug. "It's hard being the new kid on the new kid on the block."

Listening to him speak said that he had experienced Nigthwing before as she leaned against the cue watching him line up and take his shots. But that would be understandable considering he worked as a bar, he probably saw a lot; boy he probably had some stories. All she could do was nod as he talked. Unlike Batman, when she walked out of the lounge with Nightwing he didn’t corner her with questions; he actually seemed to understand that she had a long night and was exhausted. He didn’t seem to question her about where she lived so he could pester her later and he didn’t go out of his way to make her uncomfortable.

She was left to her thoughts even while he was working; shaking because of the temperature of the room but anyone else could have been shaking due to the experience. Abbie had been through a lot that night but anyone else could have been a blubbering fool or in complete shock. Well she found one good thing about him at least. It seemed almost ironic; he looked like he was about her age, maybe a tad older. How long had he been training under Batman? How did Batman put up with him? Was he always a jerk like this? Or did Abbie just catch him on a bad night. The idea of the ‘set rules’ came into play. Maybe Nightwing was being harder on people for the sake of his own rules… who knows?

“Oh come on…” She said teasingly as she slid to Dick, “Being the new kid on the block can’t be alllll bad.” She slid her way between Dick and the table, taking up the gap that was there and grinned up at him as they were face to face. Sure Dick was a bit taller than her but that didn’t stop her from making eye contact, her caramel eyes twinkling with playfulness and her body leaned forward slightly towards him, “I was under the impression that the new kids, including the pool god, would be up for a challenge or two….” Leaning back she gave a small shrug, “I’m disappointing in you.” As she slid by him she gave him a wink, showing that she was only kidding before lining up her shot.

She sank in three balls before missing her forth one, she was almost done, this was her last ball than she was onto the 8 ball. Surprisingly enough he was keeping up with her rather well; this was a good game.

Tim, Barbara’s text rang to his phone, I’ve found three signatures of Harvey Dent’s that have come back positive. I’m waiting on two more before I’m willing to give it a 100% match. 80-20 chance Abigail Dent is Two Face’s adopted daughter.

Tim raised his eyebrows at the way Abbie was walking towards Dick after his story. He gave a small low whistle, but Dick wasn't focused on him. "Its not that us new guys don't like a challenge..." Dick began, leaning over the pool table, aiming once more. "But going in to any new place, you gotta glance at the situation." He looked up at her, then back down. "See if you got even the slightest chance at completing the challenge." A ball sunk in to the pocket. "And then it either makes you hated..." Another ball in. "Or its smooth sailing, and it works out for you." Dick looked up and gave a smile before aiming again. They were now tied up in the game. It was a very difficult shot, but Dick managed to get his last ball in to the pocket. He was on the 8 ball. "Corner pocket." Dick said, pointing to the left side, before taking aim.... and missing!? Dick said something under his breath and sat up, gesturing to Abbie. "Go ahead, Miss "kicked out of tournaments" advance on my mistake." Dick said with a smile.

Tim read the text that Barbara just sent, and he frowned slightly, quietly putting his phone in his pocket. "I've never seen Dick lose a game of pool before." Tim said with a smile, walking towards the table with a smile. "You got the smarts, the talent every woman wants, and the looks." Tim said, leaning on the table, watching the game. He was going to try and play this normally, lets hope he didn't sound too weird. "A natural blonde, cute brown eyes, I hope I don't sound so rude, but what are you doing with this clown? Where'd you get your looks from, mom or dad?" He asked friendly, in the most least creepiest way he could. He needed to know if the details of her dad matched Harvey's appearance (both before, or after the incident). This wasn't the best way to see if its true. He also didn't know if he would be able to know if she was lying to him or not. Would she protect her criminal dad?

At her first meeting with Dick, she found him to be quite humorous and willing to make fun of her for not knowing he was the new owner of the estate. And now here they were, playing a game of pool ever-so causally in the Wayne Manor. Along with making playful comments and even, dare she think, flirtatious? Did Abbie ever think she'd be in this position? No. Did she ever consider she could get along with someone who probably has more money than God? No. Why? Well she didn't think she could talk to someone like that. But Dick wasn't a normal 'billionaire bachelor', he came across as a relaxed kid from the streets and that made communicating with him a lot easier.

As the game went on and Dick took his shots, Abbie gave off small signals of both nervousness and excitement. Her fingers would twitch against the stick as he spoke showing she was nervous but at the same time her free hand would play with her hair in the pony tail or glad her hand along the table top showing some form of flirtatious activity. Inside her mind she wasn't quite catching on to what she was actually doing but her mind was very clear on the fact that she was having a good time.

She smirked at his comment to her before she looked at Tim with a look of surprise; and not because he asked about her parents but because he had called Dick a clown. Her head jerked back and shook slightly in the surprise before she spoke, "Clown? Au contraire." She said waving a small finger at him as she rounded the table to line up her shot, "This man is no clown, maybe a bit foolish but far from a clown." Her caramel eyes flicked playful to Dick before she leaned over and lined up her shot focusing on the ball. "I think "classic" described him pretty well. Why you ask?" She pulled the stick back and knocked her last ball into a pocket with easy.

"First off, he answers his own door." She observed the table as she walked to try to line up her last shot. "Secondly, he's willing to talk to people he's never met, including some random blonde on his doorstep." She stopped walking after picking where she wanted to swing from. "Thirdly, he sends people thank you gifts." At that she chalked the end of her cue stick. "And lastly I bet he'd hold a door open for me." With that she looked over at Dick and gave him a playful grin, "But that's just a guess, I could be expecting way too much."

With that she put down the chalk back on the edge of the table. "But to answer your other question Tim; I don't know really. I was adopted by the man I now call my father when I was a baby. He was kind enough not to keep that from me and he loves me dearly so I've never seen a reason to track down my real parents." She gave a shrug before leaning over the table. "It's ironic though." She said with a nod before point, "Corner pocket." She pulled back the stick before speaking again, "He's got blonde hair too, well what's left of it." She gave a small shrug leaving the statement at that. She didn't like to go into her father's story about why he was injured but it wasn't her story to tell. At her release Tim's phone buzzed.

We can't rule out the chances of it not being Harvey Dent but Tim, there's way too high of a chance it is. 98% chance Abigail Dent is the adopted daughter of Two Face.

At the time his phone buzzed, the ball fell into the pocket. "Good game." She said standing upright and giving him a grin. "Honestly didn't think I'd win. I hope you weren't going easy on me." She said playfully. "I don't want to take up your cleaning time but I don't have any plans for today if you'd like some extra help. Or I can leave you to it." She should want to help out a new friend right?

The two listened to the blonde talk, watching her turn. Dick didn't forget one of the reasons he invited Abbie over, and Tim was doing a good job at playing "The dumb friend" and asking stupid and blunt questions. He was just as smart, if not smarter, than Dick. As she went on to explain why she didn't think Dick was a clown, he gave a humble smile, and Tim was noticing all the nervous tics she made whenever Dick was talking, or looking at her, or just near her. "Well Miss Dent, I am very flattered you think that of me. You're very different than most of the Gotham residents yourself, in a very good way... But I lose my 'classical charm' when someone beats me at my own game, so don't expect me opening your door any time soon." Dick said with a smile to show he was joking, gently taking the pool stick from her to put it away. It was a close game... but he didn't mind losing this one. Her smile after winning was nice.

The two of them also noticed that she said she was adopted, and that her adopted father had only a bit left of his blonde hair... He could be going bald, or half of his face didn't have any hair, like their enemy Two-Face.

Dick was about to respond about her helping around the manor, he was going to she could help them with a room they've been trying to avoid ever since this morning because it would take hours to clear out, but after Tim looked at his phone, he acted a bit different. Abigail probably wouldn't have noticed it, but Dick's known Tim for years.

"We appreciate your offer, Abigail, but Dick and I got it, we got a lot of weird and embarrassing things of his and Bruce... and I think we better get back at it, too" Tim said, politely asking her to leave. Dick looked over at Tim, about to protest and say that she could stay, but his look towards him meant that he knew something he didn't. "We really appreciate the coffee too, and it was very nice to get to know you! Hopefully you'll get to see this place when its all cleaned up." Tim said as Dick escorted her back to the large main hall of the Manor. Dick grabbed her purse on the table next to the poster, and handed it to her. "I'm really sorry about him. He doesn't know when to keep his mouth shut." Dick said with a nod.

"Thank you again for everything. Its nice to know I have a friend here in Gotham." Dick also said, opening the large doors of the front entrance for her. "Hopefully you'll get to see this place when everything's done packed." He hesitated for a second, debating on whether or not to say this last part, it was obvious Tim knew something bad about her, but he also didnt want to lose a lead... Or if they were completely wrong, he would hate to lose a friend like her. "If you need anything, big or small, just give me a call." Dick said with a smile. "Have a nice day Abbie."

After Dick made sure she was safely back in her car (He watched from a window.... the super hero in him wanted to make sure she made it safe!), he went back to where Tim was. "What did Barb find out about her? Obviously something if you kicked her out." Dick said, walking up to him. "She's almost 100 percent sure that she's the adopted daughter of Harvey Dent, she'll fill you in later... What's wrong?"

"She didn't look like a threat... Could she possibly not know that her dad is Dent?" Dick asked, frowning a bit as he was in thought. "I'll admit she wasn't threatening, and the only secrets she seemed to want to know is how to get inside your pants..." Tim said with a grin, patting Dick on the back. "Its obvious she likes you. She was really nervous, and yelled at me for calling you a clown."

"She was just being a polite guest."

"She was being flirty, and likes you."

Dick turned a shade a pink, walking for the door. "I'll go see what Barb found... Get back to work on packing."

At the wording of embarrassing things, her eyebrows rose and her caramel gaze moved to Dick; what kind of embarrassing things? That would be fun to stick around and see but, at the same time, she didn’t want to overstay her welcome and scare him off into thinking she was some form of stalker or incredibly lonely. Either way, she was willing to bow out with grace but at least they knew that had someone else aside from the people who walk around in the house to count on and that - that was important for someone who had just moved into town.

“He was fine.” She said with a laugh as she took her purse from him and slid it over her shoulder. “He just seems like a kid who’s just now starting to understand ‘adulthood’ we all were like that at that age.” A nod rose and fell her head as she stepped outside of the door and turned to face him. His comments were sweet and a kind, happy smile moved across her full lips showing her bright white teeth. “Same goes for you Dick, I’m just a text or a phone call away. Don’t work too hard and I look forward to seeing you again. If you ever want company I’m not that far away.” With that and a pleasant good bye she went to her car and climbed inside before driving politely off the property.

“Pick up… Pick up… damnit Tim pick up!” Barbara Gordon was pacing back and forth in the office room of her apartment. Compared to the other members of the Bat Family, Barbara found a high interested in technology and electronics; finding them much more challenging then the day to day problems people were used to handling. Her room was half a scattered mess of computer parts while the other half was linked computer systems, at least five if not ten screens and three different keyboards. Some screens were running live feeds of Gotham while the others were running numbers and a few were left blank.

“FINALLY!” Barbara explained as someone answered the phone.

“Hello Barb calm down.”

“Tim, damnit, where’s Dick? What’s going on with this Abigail girl…” After Tim explained the situation and Barbara was finally filled in, she ran a small hand through her red hair before it fell onto her hip. “Look, she has to know something…”

“I know that, I also know she wants to get into Dick’s pants…”

“Excuse me?”

“She likes him.”

“Does he like her?”

“Can’t tell, Dick’s hard to read but she’s really nervous around him…”

“Maybe she has something to hide---“

“It’s called infatuation Barb it happens to people.”

Barbara’s nostrils flared. Even though she was younger than Dick but older than Jim, she always was rather protective of those she considered family. Especially with Dick’s new standing in society and Nightwing making his presence known back in Gotham; problems were soon going to arise and Dick balancing a relationship and super-hero work could be too much for him just returning... AND it could be with Two-Face’s daughter… was she the only one who saw a problem with that?! “You and I both know that a relationship is nearly impossible in our line of work…”

“A man has ne---“

“Tim don’t you dare say it. A woman does too but you don’t see me running around with random men---“

“You do need to date more…”

“OR a person who could be my enemy’s child!”

“Valid point. What do you want him to do?”

“I think she knows more than she’s leading us to believe. Not just that but everyone in their right minds know that if they have an encounter with one of the villains here in this god-forsaken…”

“The town’s not that bad, the right sunlight, a little breeze…”

“TOWN!” She said cutting Tim off though she was fighting back a grin of her own. “One of us is bound to show up to question them. It would only make sense for Nightwing to show up and question her. Get Dick on the road after her, I’ll disable her car from here and make her pull over.”

“And… why didn’t you all Dick to tell him this?”

“If he’d answer his phone he’d know all this by now. Just go get him.”

“Alright talk to you later.”

“Bye Tim.” With that Barbara hung up the phone and went to work on Abbie’s car while Tim went to catch Dick before he left.

----

Abbie was bouncing her head along to her music as she drove down the long backroads of Gotham still admiring the beauty that lay so far out… that was until her radio started to static, her car started to beep and everything began to slow down. “Oh no... no no no…”

Pulling the car safely over, she watched the power die right before her eyes. “Damnit.” She said as she pushed her car door open and climbed out. Taking in a deep breathe of the afternoon winds, she leaned against her car and pulled out her phone 3:48pm her phone read, wow she spent about an hour and a half with them and they still weren’t sick of her. Amazing!

Dialing a number she got a hold of a tow truck company that gave her an ETA of 15 minutes. So what does she do? She walks to the hood of her car and climbs up on it, resting her button on the wood and gently swung her jean covered legs. Why not? It was a nice sunny day, the breeze was nice and so what if her car died… oh no, what if Dick came down the hill! She’d look like an idiot with a dead car not even three miles away from his home. Her free hand smacked against her face. Sure, let’s just stack on the embarrassing things she’s done around him… But he’s got a lot of unpacking to do. Maybe she’ll get lucky! At least it’s a lovely day. Nothing can ruin that right?

Dick was met by Tim down in the Batcave, and he was told the situation. There was too big of a coincidence that she was held hostage by Cobblepot, had a connection to the possible lead to Harvey's potential taxi service, and her backstory. And as much as he hated to admit it, she most likely knew something about Harvey Dent. He felt that it was unusual to interrogate someone in the middle of the day. It wasn't really their style to fight crime during the day, Nightwing, Batman, and Robin never did it, but Barbara assured him that he wouldn't be in any public place... So he suited up, and drove off towards the place where Barbara was going to shut Abbie's car off.

It didn't take long for him to find her. Of course he had to take an alternate route to get to her so it didn't look like Nightwing just drove out of Wayne Manor himself. The Nightcycle pulled up to the broken down car, and Nightwing climbed off. "Miss Dent." The black and blue suited man said professionally. "You and I need to have a talk." He said, walking towards the blonde. "Your father owns a cab service in Gotham, and they get their payments through a false name that goes through three other faulty addresses. And last night your father paid for a party at the Iceberg Lounge, and the Penguin takes you hostage, demanding to know about your father, and that he would pay a lot for you. Like he knows him."

"So I'm a bit suspicious about your father. What can you tell me about him?"

The blonde bounced her legs gently on the bumper of her car as she played a game on her phone while awaiting the tow truck. Stupid car breaking down; maybe it was time to get a new one… but she loved her purple car. Could you blame her? It was purple! A smile moved across her face but it dropped. Oh god, what if Dick needed to leave his house for something and found her broken down on the roadside. She’d look like such a fool and probably a lot like a stalker who was finding any excuse to be around him. Oh god…

A small hand moved over her face and pulled down her features as the thought went through her mind. That would be highly embarrassing and god knows she ‘needed’ that right now. She didn’t want to bombard him with attention and bug him with more and more company when he most likely just wanted to settle in. Her head turned up, hearing a light sound of an engine echoing along the road only to see that it was a motorcycle with… great…

When he climbed off of his bike she slid herself off of the hood of her car and put her phone in her pocket then placed her hands on her hips. Her foot tapped lightly against the pavement under her feet and it became very apparent that she was not happy with the sudden appearance of Nightwing.

“Listen,” She said sharply as he rambled on about her father, “I don’t know what you ‘think’ you know but my father is a good man. He’s an entrepreneur who brings businesses out of their depths, helps people find jobs and allows people to grow. I don’t know enough about his business to be able to answer that but I will say that someone who’s from a rich family will normally be targets for kidnappings. That’s what happens in this town. Your suspicions are completely misplaced and I feel more stalked than I do protected at this point.”

She took in a deep breath and pulled her right hand from her hip and held it up. “I know I shouldn’t be ungrateful for you saving me at the Iceberg Lounge but at the same time; you’re insulting my father and it feels like you’re stalking me.” Her gaze moved to the ground, her foot kicking against the pavement. She didn’t want to be mean to him but at the same time, this was getting out of hand. “Everyone’s been after my dad lately, probing me with questions and demanding answers…” Her caramel gaze moved up to look at Nightwing as her hand dropped back to her side. “He’s all I have and everyone’s treating him like he’s a bad guy but he’s not. You have no evidences, just suspicions and that’s what get good people in a lot of trouble. Please just, just leave my dad alone Nightwing.”

There was no mistake. Barbara hasn't been wrong before. Her father had to be Dent! There was too many coincidences, too many facts, and the more he thought about it, the more Abbie defended the man he could only think of as Two-Face, images came through as if flashing before him. As much as he wanted to, he could never forget that night. It was years ago, back when Dick was a boy. He wasn't known as Nightwing back then, he had another title. Robin, The Boy Wonder.

The courtroom was dark. Rain hit the windows hard that night, more than usual in Gotham. It was long abandoned ever since Harvey Dent lost his case here, and had to have extensive surgery. But tonight it was lively. The room was no longer filled with chairs and desks, but now a large stage area in the back of the room, with two hanging posts. Two men had a noose around their necks, but were held up by a small metal pole at their feet. One was the newest District Attorney in Gotham. His sobbing was muffled by the duct tape around his mouth, his face full of fear. Next to him was the Dark Knight himself, Batman. The two of them stared at the man pacing back and forth. The man was tall, lean, and if half of his body wasn't horribly burned, he would have been handsome.

One half of his face had tan skin, dark blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smirk... The other side of him had little skin, and what was left of it was burned horribly. His eye socket was exposed, his lips and cheeks were no more, and it gave a horrible impression of a frown. "Well Batman? Where is he? Your little side kick." The man named Two-Face said, flipping a coin casually, a silver magnum in his other hand. "He'll be here." Was what Batman replied. Dent didn't put duct tape on his mouth only so they could have a conversation. It wasn't Batman's plan to get caught by Harvey, but his options were not limited. "You wanna see bet?" Harvey Dent replied, holding up his infamous coin.

As the two were talking, Robin very quietly balanced himself on an exposed rafter, observing the scene. When Bruce was taken, Dick was able to easily follow the three in to the courthouse. At this time Dick was not as experienced. He spent two years as Batman's sidekick, and he felt invincible for most of it. The two of them were an unstoppable crime fighting force, and it went to Robin's head. So he was overconfident. And thought he had the perfect solution. Robin took out a batarang from his utility belt. He knew Bruce could escape from this trap given time, this wouldn't be his first time he was getting hanged. So Robin took aim at the District Attorney.

Robin threw the batarang, it easily flying through the air with a soft whistle as it soared and then made contact with the rope suspending the DA. The man fell to the ground, letting out a shocked cry. Both Batman and Two-Face looked in the direction the batarang came from, and before Robin could jump down, he looked at the horrible grin on Harvey Dent's face. Robin forgot a very important thing about Harvey: He was OBSESSED with the number 2. As the man started to get up, there was a large tick, and then the floor underneath the man gave in, and the DA fell in to what sounded like water. His hands were tied, his mouth covered, and God knows how deep the horrible trap was, or what was in the tank.

Robin watched in horror as he knew he screwed up, a gunshot went off, and Dick Grayson fell from the rafter, and hard on the ground. Dick's arm hurt, he was dazed, and now a hand was pulling him up from his hair. "A harsh mistake, Birdie." Two-Face said with a growl, looking over at Batman. "Looks like he does take after you. Both messing up tonight..." He looked back at Robin, then at Batman again, an evil grin on his face. "Heads I let you go... Tails... You'll both suffer." He said quietly as he flicked his thumb up, the silver coin glistened in the air before landing back in Dent's hand. He looked at it, and gave a sinister smile yet again.

He pulled out a switchblade with his free hand, still holding the dazed Robin. Batman eventually broke free of his bonds after watching hopelessly as Harvey Dent tortured Robin. He cut him, punched him, tossed him down and kicked him. He kept screaming that this was fair, that fate had a twisted way of getting revenge. Harvey Dent was arrested that night with little injuries... But Dick was not. He felt weak, useless, scared. This was his first major mistake, and it cost him so much more than a gunshot wound and scars.

His mind snapped back, the scene only seconds in his mind. He looked up at her yet again, not knowing that the image brought a deadly glare to his face. He wasn't mad at her. Maybe she truly didn't know... If she knew who her dad truly was she might be willing to help. It has been years since that night happened, and Dick would never admit it, but that still hurt him. He would wake up in the middle of the night with the thought of that night. If she knew how much pain Harvey Dent did to Dick Grayson...

"You work as a reporter at the Gazette." Dick finally said to her as she finished. "Why don't you do some research of your own? Harvey Dent. There's your first lead." And with that, Nightwing pressed a button on his belt, Abbie's car roaring to life, and he walked towards his own vehicle, and without another word, he drove off quickly.

The so called ‘hero’s’ expression darkened as she went on to talk about her father and was met with a very unhappy gaze of her own. Did he honestly think she was lying? Her small hands bunched up into fists but she kept her composure as much as she could as he turned around and walked away from her saying something about looking up information on Harvey Dent. The blonde’s head jerked back when he climbed upon his bike. “You think you know!” The blonde shouted at the leaving bike. “You think you honestly know?!” It was frustrating to say the least. Too many people were accusing her father of being a bad individual and now even the so called ‘super-hero’ is doing the same thing.

Kicking her foot against the tire of her car she let out an angry grunt before placing her hands on her hips. Why was everyone out to get her dad?! And what’s with this Harvey Dent character? And how long was she going to have to wait for a tow truck to arrive and take her away from her; it would be rather awkward if Dick went by and saw her broken down. Maybe she should keep her distanced from him for a while. He was too nice of guy to get make him feel bombarded with the sudden attention from being in town. Plus he’d get enough of that as is.

A few days went by and the blonde kept in text contact with Dick most of the time. Nothing crazy or continuous but allowing him to know that she was around if he wanted to hang out. But instead she took her time visiting the library, digging online and looking through information at the paper and the stuff she was finding about this ‘Harvey Dent’ character wasn’t the best information she had ever heard… this guy seemed like her father, he couldn’t be! This man was a bad guy, an evil person hated by the town and Batman and everyone! Her dad was a great man! Her dad was a good guy, a nice guy and he helped people. He was getting companies out of deep debt; he was giving people jobs and allowing her to travel the world…

Abbie spent a long day going out for a drive before returning back into town. Her fingers drummed along her stirring wheel as she drove in her black shirt and blue jeans. A man stepped out in the middle of the road causing her to slam on her breaks in surprise. Her car screeched to a stop and she jerked forward, her hazel eyes wide in surprise as she stared down the young man.

The man was in a hooded cloak, his arms behind his back and a sinister smile on his face. His body turned facing the car as the blonde stared out her windshield at the snarling man. His arms left the confines of his back and his balled up fists rose into the air sparks of electricity exploded from the gloves and slammed down with a forceful blow onto the hood of her car. The last thing Abbie remembered was screaming for her life and passing out.

It has been several days since anyone has heard from Abigail Dent. Abbie came too finding herself tied to a chair, her wrists tied behind her and her ankles to the legs of the chair. Head spinning and eyes blurry she stared up at the figure in front of her.

“Sounds like they miss you. It’s funny though; if they knew who your daddy was, they wouldn’t give to shits…” The man’s voice said with his back turned to the young woman.

“So, that means you know who my dad is, and you know he’ll be coming for me.”

“And he’ll be killed.”

To that, Abbie began to laugh and laugh hard, “R—really?” She said through her laughs, “You think, you can beat him? You’re in for a world of surprises and a world of hurt….”

“Your father is Two-Face, I’m not scared of him; I’m the Electrocutioner!”

“And I’m the daughter of Two-Face and I’m on the new Bat-Brat’s shit list. Do you honestly think you’ll walk away from this alive? One of them is bound to kick your ass. The only difference is, one will let you live. The other, the one more likely to be pissed, will kill you.” To that the Electrocutioner turned around, activated his gloves and gripped her biceps causing her to scream out in a tremendous amount of pain. A pain that would only last so much longer because she had no doubt that her dad would be kicking down the door of the warehouse by the docks real soon! Either that or… Bat-Brat.

Due to many circumstances, Dick tried to stay away from Abbie. The more important things like her being related to Two-Face, and the danger of him being Nightwing were good enough reasons, but then there was the political and social impacts too. He didn't know how the media would take that the newest Gotham bachelor is spending time with Abbie Dent. He really didn't care what he thought, it was more of Abbie's point of view. There was also the possibility that if Harvey Dent found out about Abbie's new potential relationship, he would get curious, and try something. So Dick continued cleaning the mansion, he continued to fight crime, and Dick Grayson made himself more publicly known.

He usually made that an excuse to not be in much contact with Abbie, but he couldn't help but reply with a few texts throughout the day. He kept thinking about what she yelled at him that day. There was a saying in the justice department. "Everyone is innocent until proven guilty." Bruce taught him to never second guess himself during these situations. If you had a hunch, you had to stick with it until it proved that it wasn't true. And if it was any one of them, they were usually right about their hunches. But to answer her question, no. He didn't honestly know. But he was almost certain that her father was a monster. If she only knew that Harvey Dent tortured Dick, that he hid his true feelings behind his smart ass attitude. Maybe she would be more understanding. But she'll never know.

As the days went on the city of Gotham got used to the fact that Batman was gone, but the talk started to spread about Nightwing, and the rumors of where he came from. A "Batman knockoff" was the most used term for him, but that was until Bludhaven informed Gotham of their hero, and soon people would remember him from his early years in Gotham, and some even speculated that he was an older Robin... But those were all rumors. Nightwing would never talk to the media. Or at least not yet. The biggest news that wasn't Batman related was the abduction of Abigail Dent. As you could expect, Dick, Tim, and Barbara were all suspicious, and Dick more concerned than the other two (but never showed it). When she didn't reply to his texts he understood... But when she didn't answer calls, he was concerned, so concerned that he left quite a few (embarrassing) voicemails like:

"Hey, Abbie... I er, wanted to say that we finished moving the house around, and sometime when you're not busy.. I mean, if you have the time I want a pool rematch." This is when he sighed miserably and hung up.

He did these once or twice until Barbara told him that the police found a purple sports car with burn marks on the roof. Driver nowhere to be found. It didn't take them long to conclude that the Electrocutioner was involved.

What they weren't expecting was the amount of work that it was taking to find where she was. It seemed that whenever Nightwing tried to find out her whereabouts, Two-Face's thugs always beat him to it. It only strengthened their suspicions, but it also frustrated Dick. He was supposed to be Bruce's successor! And he was losing to a man that Dick hated the most out of everyone... And if Abbie thought that he was the hero...

They spent a lot of time tracking down the location of the electrocutioner, and they finally got him. Dick managed to sneak in very easily just in time to hear the electrocutioner's speech. He wasn't the most dangerous of the Gotham villains, but he wasn't to be underestimated. The fact that the Electrocutioner knew who her father was just even more confirmation, and he really wasn't happy with all these new clues. The moment he laid his hands on her biceps was when Nightwing went in to action. He took out one of his objects, aimed, at a wall, and flicked it as hard as he could. The room was filled with ricochet sounds as the "batarang" like object used its angles to eventually hit the electrocutioner square in the side of the head, toppling over.

Nightwing showed himself this time. "Hey sparky. Long time no see." Nightwing said, escrima sticks out and already in "shock" mode. "And if it wasn't clear, I'm the one that's only here to kick your ass and throw you in to jail. Looks like I beat Half-and-Half here." The electrocutioner looked up and glared at Nightwing. "Ah, so its true! The birdie is back! You don't have the Bat Freak to help you in your fights this time." He grinned. Nightwing returned the grin. "That's fine, he isn't here to hold me back, either. I got the whole stage to myself." And with that, Nightwing did a twirl towards the villain, arm extended as he tried to smack him, but with no luck. He smacked his hand away and used his other hand to try and land a electrified fist at Nightwing's head, but he ducked and gave an uppercut to the electric gloved man.

Angry, the Electrocutioner slammed his fists down on the ground, he noticed the metal plating as soon as he came in, so his shocked hands will travel through the whole area. Nightwing leapt back, doing a backflip, landing on his hands and then pouncing back again behind Abbie's chair. He knew that she could fight, and had a feeling she was itching for a fight with the man who kidnapped her. In a swift motion he cut the ropes holding her in the chair, and quickly grabbing her. He then pulled out his grappling hook, not having much time before the electric current reached them. He fired up at the roof and the two took off, suspended in the dark air as they waited for the maniac to stand up again. Once he did, Nightwing repelled down, letting go of Abbie, looking over at her as if saying "Attack him, not me." and then took off towards the Electrocutioner.

He had to finish this fight before Two-Face showed up. It was only a matter of time, and he really didn't want to be here when he was in an angry mood. And even though he had a hunch that Dent wouldn't hurt Abbie, she was coming with Nightwing, not the even crazier maniac.

It’s funny how when you’re in the mites of screaming out in pain that things come into perspective. Her father was a multi-billion-dollar mafia leader with half of a face. Private school was a horrible idea. Traveling the world was awesome. ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’ is believable, it’s horrible. And her only regret was that she didn’t get to say good bye to Dick. Oh and that straight electricity to the bare skin HURT.

Her screams were cut short by the Electrocutioner letting go and falling back against the ground with a loud thud. Head dropping, blonde hair falling off of her shoulders and hanging alongside her head, she slowly pulled her tear-filled eyes open and breathed heavily. She didn’t dare give the Electrocutioner the pleasure of knowing just how much pain she was in but the tears running down her face onto her ripped shirt and dirty jeans showed just how much pain she was in. Slowly, her head rose up and her caramel eyes blinked to see that Nightwing was the first person onto the scene.

The struggling of her ropes was intense. For the past three days she had been attempting to get them loose and now with the arrival of Nightwing, things were going to go from bad to worse and being tied to a chair wasn’t her ideal location. Her arms were throbbing and she had massive burn marks were the loon had grabbed her but that didn’t stop her to struggle for freedom. In the time that she had dropped her head in an attempt to focus, she pulled it upright in surprise to feel the ropes drop to the floor, and her legs to be freed. Abbie leapt from the chair just in time to see that electrical currents were heading her way. Oh shit… What, what was that? An arm? Holy shit she was flying in the air!

It did take her a moment to realize exactly what was happening before she looked up at Nightwing, this being the first time they had ever been so close and, as she hoped, it would be the last. The second he let her go she distanced herself from him and responded to his look with a ‘no shit’ expression before the two took off after the Electrocutioner.

Abbie made it to him first. Taking quick stance as he rose up, she spun kicked him in the jaw. Oh, OH that felt good. She gave a small closed lip smirk as he stumbled backwards in a mix of both pain and shock at the fact that she was A] free and B] kicking him in the face. She bounced backwards and when the Electrocutioner came forward once again she gave him a swift uppercut into the jaw causing him to stumble backwards and for the blonde to jump back shaking her fist and making a ‘ow’ face even though she was running on adrenaline and ignoring her current pain.

Nightwing was impressed. He rolled his eyes in annoyance at Abbie's death glare before she flew off to get some revenge. You'd think she'd be more grateful after he saved her and all. But the way she fought was full of fury and mostly anger. The spin kick and uppercut to the face made the masked hero smirk. "Lock the wrist more when going in for an uppercut." Nightwing said to mainly help her out, but there was a hint of teasing her in that sentence. He knew that she really didn't want him to talk to her, but he couldn't help it. The Electrocutioner laughed, touching his jaw to make sure it wasn't too injured, then clapped his hands together. Blue sparks flew out of his gloves, a horrible hissing noise escaping from them as well. "This is enough electricity to burn you to a crisp in a matter of seconds."

"Oooh, Neat!" Nightwing said mockingly, his escrima sticks out, and slamming them together yet again until blue sparks of his own hissed out of the tips. Of course he didn't have enough power to kill a guy, but with enough hits he could get possibly stun him long enough to take him down--Or Abbie to. Abbie had her turn, it was Nightwing's now!

One thing people will notice about Nightwing that was different from Batman: Nightwing was extremely agile. The two rushed towards each other, and hit weapons together with so much force, that a bolt of lightning bursting out and hitting the lightbulb above, taking out the power in the warehouse. The Electrocutioner and Nightwing's faces were illuminated by the pale blue glow of their weapons, and they fought yet again. Every time they made contact with each other light flashed to reveal them, it was like watching a weird and complicated rave dance with a strobe light, Nightwing ducking and twirling at the same time, smacking away fists, trying to get in jabs of his own, blocking when his back was facing the enemy, he cartwheel flipped sideways, tried to kick his legs from under him, but it wasn't doing much. This was all happening fast, but for Dick everything was slowed down.

Every move he had wasn't doing much, but Nightwing saw the opening. Their weapons were now pressed against each other again, their faces inches from the blue bolts flying out, Nightwing had a cocky smirk on his face, The Electrocutioner looked very very mad. "Just... Die!" Nightwing pushed the gloves downward, taking the moment to literally jump on his shoulders, his legs tied around his throat, and he brought the two escrima sticks down on his sides, screams of pain coming from the man. Nightwing looked over at Abbie. "Now!" He yelled to her, indicating to give him one good kick (or punch) to his face, but as he was busy looking at Abbie, The electrocutioner brought his hands up and grabbed Nightwing's legs.

Although his suit was padded with parts of rubber and microfibers that protected him... The pain coming from his gloves were intense. they were at maximum level, and Nightwing let out a large scream, praying that Abbie would stop him soon. Kinda ironic huh?

The comment from Nightwing was responded with an expression of an eyebrow raising with a half sarcastic look and another have of understanding that he was giving some form of advice. She backed away from the laughing man and wasn't sure exactly where this was going to go. She didn't seem to take too much out of him but he was stunned that she could pull a kick and punch as hard as she did. Oh no, a manic laugh, fantastic...

Though it was a bit surprising to see that the Electrocutioner's threat of burning Nightwing to a crisp was met with mocking response. Her head bounced back and forth between the two as their weapons lit up and proceeded at each other. The spark was intense, filling the room with a large flash of light causing the blonde to drop to the floor as the lightbulb exploded and the place went pitch black. And there begin the intense slow-motion light show.

What Abbie didn't expect was to curl herself back against a far walk and stare in aw at the incredible light show. Sure she probably should have looked for a way out or some way to help but considering the light would flash than pitch black would fill the room she was lacking the ability to let her eyes adjust. Attempting to make a layout of the room was difficult and by the time she had succeeded, Nightwing was calling to her to help. But it wasn't until the man's legs were grabbed and he began to scream in pain that Abbie was finally able to pin-point their location. Jumping to her feet she reacted quickly and in her hurry to the men she grabbed the wooden chair and brought it over her head in her run.

Her arm swung down and the thick wood came into contact with the even thicker skull of the Electrocutioner. A lovely cracking noise filled the room and the wooden chair fell apart like putty in her hands and the large man went tumbling to the floor, gloves deactivating and his grip letting go of Nightwing. The glow of Nightwing's weapons were the only thing giving off any sort of light which caused her to drop the legs of the chair and run to his side. Wrapping her arms around his upper body she pulled him off the Electrocutioner and his upper body into her lap. "Nightwing." She said, panic in her voice, "Nightwing don't you die on me. I won't put up with that." Her voice should signs of playful sarcasm as she tried to joke her way through her panic as she shook him slightly. "Come on buddy, who else is going to stalk me like an overprotective boyfriend; get up!" She placed her hand gently against his cheek before sliding it down his neck to check for a pulse. Oh thank god there is one! "Come on, I can't carry you but between you functioning arms and my functioning legs we make a whole person; we need to get out of here now wake up!" Her voice filled with desperation, worry and sadness; yes for him, at the end of her sentence. She hurt, he hurt but they needed to leave!

Luckily his suit protected him from dying... But that didn't stop it from hurting. A lot! The pain felt like a lifetime, and he could only image that this is how it felt for Abbie to be shocked. His eyes were closed as he fought back the urge to scream again, but he heard the sickening crunch of a skull, and the pain was lifted. As the Electrocutioner fell to the ground, Nightwing still on his shoulders, he obviously followed suit. He dropped his weapons, light still illuminating from them. He was in a painful daze, his vision going in and out, and the next thing he knew he was staring up at the blond haired girl, yelling things at him. He blinked a few times and groaned, trying to sit up. "I'm not dying today. Not on the first week of the job." Nightwing said, but as he tried to get on to his legs, they felt weak and unresponsive. Damn that guy! He grabbed his escrima sticks, and took in a few deep breaths

After a few seconds he finally had the strength to wobble in a slightly crouched position on his legs, using Abbie as support. The room was still dark, and before he could say anything else about their situation, he heard shouting from outside the warehouse. He gave a quiet swear, and then put his hand to his ear. "Oracle."

Barbary Gordon used to be Batgirl, but ever since her encounter with the Joker a few years back, she was paralyzed, and now the tech genius for Batman, Robin, and now Nightwing. Her name was now Oracle. "Are you out? Did you find her?" Oracle immediately asked. "Not exactly... I think we're a bit too late."

And as if on cue the warehouse doors were burst open, men rushing in, flashlights out to see Abigail Dent and Nightwing holding on to each other for support. Both were in rough shape. "Find the lights!" One man screamed, and then a rough voice chilled the air. One all too familiar. "Well well well... I come here to kill Buchinsky, to find that another high valued target took him out for me." The lights slowly started to flicker on, the light above them still out, but the others working just fine. It revealed the one person Dick Grayson never wanted to see in this type of situation. Two-Face. Formerly known as Harvey Dent.

So it was true. There had to be a connection with them now. Nightwing was too weak to fight, and he didnt want to hold an escrima stick up to Abbie's face and hold her hostage. He had to think of something... Come on, Gayson, Think!

When he said that he wouldn’t die on his first week of the job, she laughed softly in a happy way to find him in better condition than a corpse in her lap. “Oh thank god.” She said softly more to herself than to him as he attempted to get to his feet. “Whoa there tiger,” Abbie insisted as he started to climb to his feet. She reached out and helped him balance himself as he tried to pull anything together.

She raised her eyebrows at him as he began to talk into an earpiece. But it wasn’t until he began to speak further that she realized that he was speaking to someone. It wasn’t until the building began to fill with people the room and fight with lights.

The room slowly began to fill with lights, one then the other and a few more before the room; aside from the light above their head. Standing at the doorframe was a large man in a white suit and half of his face was complete burnt disgusting looking and the other side was the face of her father! “Dad…?” She said sounded confused and grateful to seeing her father.

“Hello Kiddo.” Harvey Dent said to Abbie, it was obvious that the Harvey Dent side showed strong feelings towards the young girl as he stepped to her and helped her to her feet. His attention moved back over Nightwing. “Now let’s find out how to you will die.” He flicked the coin up into the air. “Heads you die by gunshot to the head, tails you die by my men and however they feel.” With that he flicked the coin into the air.

As it came down, Abbie reached out and grabbed the coin from the air; Two Face shot her an evil glare, only to be responded with a glare from his daughter. There was a silent exchange between the two before the blonde placed the coin into his hand. “If it wasn’t for Nightwing I would be in worst condition then I am now. I’m exhausted, still in pain and really really tired. Please can we go? Just… please… dad---dad?”

Two-Fact stared down at Nightwing, a look of hate on his face as his daughter spoke; but it wasn’t until he was touched by his daughter that his attention was broken and he looked at her. A few moments passed before he nodded, “Okay.”

He knew Barbara and Tim were listening to the conversation. A small hidden part of him was very sad to hear the truth. Not that he didn't already have strong suspicions, but this was stone cold fact now... And he fell over as soon as Dent took his daughter. He didn't pay much attention to the conversation. His arms were fully functional, but from the waist down his body was trying to recuperate from the massive amounts of voltage. He reached inside his utility belt, looking up to see the two sides of Harvey Dent. One still looked like the charming, handsome lawyer that he once was. His blue eye sparkled, and his strong jaw line was clean shaven... The other half was melted, raw red, his red eye just glaring. He flipped his coin, and while giving his speech Nightwing managed to take out the small item. A serum created by Bruce that added much more than adrenaline to his system. For a short time he will be a perfect health, but only for an hour. He would be back to his painful self.

It wouldn't be instant though, and Two-Face already flipped his signature coin... He could hide for a minute, and hope the serum would kick in... but just then, Abbie grabbed his coin and... Defended him? I mean, sure he saved her life twice, but she also obviously didn't like the guy. He kept slowly crawling towards a shelf, using it to prop himself up. He looked over at the unconscious Electrocutioner, then over at Two-Face. Was he really going to let them go? After all of this? No. He was famous for one thing. His obsessions with two. He had another plan.

"Lets go home, Sweetheart." Harey Dent said, but as he put an arm around her, the melted hand made a silent flick towards his men, and they drew their weapons. His legs felt better, the pain started to cease, and at this moment, he had to act fast. Nightwing wasn't the main target. It was obviously the man that kidnapped his daughter. He pulled out another item from his belt, a smoke pellet. Distracted by his daughter, Nightwing threw the pellet to the ground, and with a large flash, and a huge bang, smoke started to fill the area.

"AAGH DAMN THAT BIRD! KILL HIM!" Two-Face screamed flipping his coin over and over again. Obviously the Two-Face side took control, pushing Abbie slightly, drawing his silver magnum and flipping his coin as his men frantically shot the area the unconscious body was, and where Nightwing stood. The serum kicked in just in time. Grabbing the Electrocutioner, Nightwing booked it. He could see rather clearly thanks to the small lenses covering his mask, highlighting body temperatures. He kicked a gun out of one man's hand, hit another man between the legs, desperately trying to get out of the area before the smoke cleared. He managed to jump on boxes, climbing up shelves as he tried to keep the knocked out man around his shoulders. He was close to reaching the large rooftop window until a gunshot went off.

Nightwing's armor was still tough, the bullet hit the his chest square on, forcing Dick to stumble back, and to the ground. "YOU CAN'T GET AWAY FROM ME, FREAK!" Two-Face screamed from across the warehouse. "Come on out... Why protect this filth of a man? He kidnapped my daughter. He doesn't deserve a trial, he doesn't deserve anything but the punishment of death." Two-Face snarled. This brought back some very bad memories for Dick Grayson. Luckily the bullet didn't break the armor, but it would leave a very nasty bruise, and potential broken ribs, but the serum prevented him from feeling it.

"You a gambling man, Nightwing? Would you gamble on an innocent man's life? Like all those years ago when you were the Bat's side kick?" The man said, his human side smiling, his horrible side stuck in a permanent scowl. "I had to take in to account you might show up tonight... So I brought our dear friend Commissioner Gordon here. Who's life is more important? The criminals? Or the Saint of Gotham?" There were grunts of aggressiveness and a lot of "Don't touch me you son of a--"

The voice of the Police Commissioner. "Don't do it, Kid! I'll be alright!" Gordon called out, a grunt of pain coming from him as someone hit him upside the head with a gun. "Dick... Is he serious?" Barbara's voice said in his ear. Nightwing gave a silent sigh, trying desperately to think of his options. He was stuck again in Two-Face's trap.

They were going to leave; everything was going to be fine. Nightwing would be fine, the Electrocutioner would be behind bars and she could go home. Her dad looked, well he looked disgusting to put it lightly; but she could hear the calm love in his voice, the love of a father to a child as the two turned away from the hero and started out of the giant warehouse. She may not like the guy, but he did save her life a couple times so she felt a bit in debt to him. That was until the smoke pelt went off and the whole room filled of a thick gray smoke.

Her father snapped, shoving her away from him who caused her to stumble backwards and nearly fall to the ground. She caught herself though, her arms in a lot of pain compared to anything else and she couldn’t see! The voice of the Commissioner was the most heartbreaking thing she had ever heard. She had high hopes that her father would just let them go; there was no reason for all of this. But then again, she had just learned that her father was, in fact, a villain and villain’s don’t play by the rules.

As the banter went on she looked from left to right. She had a couple of options; one was to run for it, the other was to play stupid and the third was a lot more risky. Can you guess which route she chose? She took off in the direction of the Commissioner’s voice. Surround him were men with guns and though the room was filled from top to bottom with smoke, they kept their guns point at the Commissioner. Without giving it a second thought she began to take out the men in the darkness of the smoke one by one. Small thuds and cracks could be heard as she weaved from one to another knocking them unconscious. Go go go go go! She mentally urged herself as she went through the guards and got them knocked out. She couldn’t free the commissioner, she had no knife or anything but she pulled him to his feet and shoved him towards the door as a signal to go before she dashed away from him. Leaving the man baffled at what had happened, and hopefully he’d get the hint.

Her silent footsteps in the run took her towards the area where Nightwing had most likely gone. He wouldn’t have tried to get passed them; there were too many people at the time. Now there was just Two-Face and his daughter… who practically tripped over the hero who was lying on the floor. “Nightwing?” She said in a harsh whisper. Reaching out she felt the rubber of his suit and knew it was him. With that she jumped to her feet and grabbed him by his suit; with all the force she had she pulled him to his feet facing her. “Keep your smartass comments to yourself and let me do most of the talking.” Without giving a moment to explain herself further she put her little plan into action.

The smoke finally settled and Two-Face seemed to roar with disapproval of Nightwings actions but it wasn’t until he found the direction of Nightwing that he saw a horrible sight. “Dad…” The young blonde sobbed, Nightwing’s weapon pinned against her throat and her hands ‘pinned’ behind her back of his sight, “Dad… Ddddad…” Her voice was sobbing, tears rolling down her face. “Dad I want to go home. I need to see a doctor. My arms hurt really bad, I need to see a doctor! Please.,. dad…” Tears streamed down her cheeks and she was sobbing intensely, the tears was from the pain of her arms.

Dick laid motionless on the floor, feeling the unconscious body of the electrocutioner by his side. He was running out of time. He could hear Dent's footsteps pacing the place. He probably had his silver revolver, glaring in every direction, waiting until the smoke cleared. If Dick didn't do anything soon, Gordon will die, the electrocutioner will die, and Nightwing will probably follow suit after being tortured... But then he heard fighting. Did Gordon have an advantage? Was he winning? Will he have to tell Barb the bad news? He couldn't tell. He was sure he could get the upper hand on Two-Face. Take the main boss hostage, and see how that goes-- Someone tripped on him! He was now being pulled up by his suit, which was impressive considering her condition, and before he could make a sound she seemed to know what she was doing.

This was a true test, as she put her arms behind her back, went up close to his body, and made him hold out his weapon to her neck. A fake hostage situation. Could he trust Abbie? She didn't seem like a horrible villain when they were playing pool days ago in Wayne Manor, she seemed a bit clueless about her father's true identity, but then again she could also have the same condition as her adoptive father, multiple personality syndrome... Was he going to take these odds? Yes. One of Bruce's rules: When an opportunity opens, take it. there will never be a time where you can't think you way out of a situation.

The smoke was clearning, and Nightwing was now playing along, the electrocutioner still on the floor, his escrima sticks against the soft skin of Abigail Dent. Her sobbing was convincing, pleading to her dad. Nightwing glared at the hideous man, who for a while looked at his daughter miserably with a broken heart, wanting to hold her and make everything alright... But then that changed quickly. "Killing isn't the way you do things, Nightwing. You don't got the balls." Two-Face snarled.

Of course he was right, he would never kill anyone intentionally, but Dick didn't hesitate, he didn't move his weapon away, instead, he ignited the sparks off the tip (they weren't lethal, and not close enough to shock her), making Abbie and Two-Face jump a bit. "Still a gambling man, Harvey? Not good having that habit... Let the Commissioner go. And Buchinsky. I'll give her back." Nightwing said, trying his best to hide that small amount of fear in him, staring down the man that traumatized him. There was a pause that felt like eternity, Nightwing's arm was wrapped around Abbie, his weapon still near her neck, her sobbing quiet but still there. Finally Two-Face spoke. "Fine. But give me the girl first."

"What's the matter? Don't trust me?" Nightwing asked, hesitating a moment before letting her go, Abbie seemed confident in the way she stood, saying he meant it. Call him crazy, but he let go of her on that instinct alone. Harvey Dent embraced his daughter gently, looking at her up and down to see if she was injured anywhere else other than her arms. When Nightwing moved away and looked down at the Electrocutioner, he heard the magnum revolver click. Dick turned to see the infamous coin in one hand, and the revolver in the other pointed at the unconscious villain. "he doesn't walk away from here with a little negotiation. We're going to let fate decide..."

Nightwing's armor couldn't take another hit, it would pierce through and do some serious damage. There was nothing he could do unless he wanted to kill both of them right now. So he watched hopelessly as Two-Face flipped his coin, caught it, and looked down. A short pause occurred, and then he lowered his weapon. "Next time fate won't be on your side, Boy... Remember that."

Harvey started to walk away with his Daughter, and when they left, Dick fell to his knees and sighed heavily. That was a tough one. Both physically and mentally. He was now left here with a knocked out villain, a warehouse of goons, and himself. That was until Commissioner Gordon came out of hiding, putting his weapon away (he took it off a henchman's unconscious body). "I was going to shoot if he tried anything..." Gordon said, looking at the masked hero. "You look like shit... My boys can handle it from here, Nightwing..." Gordon said gently, patting him on the shoulder.

"I'll wait until your backup arrives, then I'll head out... They didn't get you bad, how're you holding up?"

"As an old man and veteran of being yours and Batman's janitors, I'm holding up fine. I've been through worse."

"That's true... Thanks, Jim."

This was not Abbie’s day, well not even her week considering how long she had been in the Electrocutioner’s ‘care’. But as she stood there, pretending to be held against her will, her whole body jumped when the sparks flew from the hero’s weapon. Oooohhh shit what did she just get herself into?? Her dad could flip on a dime without any warning or actions. She had seen that now, but the more she sobbed out of fear and pain, the more he seemed to claim down. Did Nightwing have intention on hurting her? I mean, she wasn’t the nicest to him but boy that could end badly for both of them.

That was until Two-Face agreed to let them go and she was slowly released. Sobbing gently she hurried from Nightwing to her father who checked her intensely. “Are you alright?”, “Yes dad.”, “Did he hurt you?”, “I’m fine, I just want to go…” She said softly to her father as she shook her head, brushing some tears from her cheeks. As the two started towards the exit she gave a small glance over her shoulder to check on the hero. He probably still didn’t trust her but at least she got some people safe by playing to her father’s love for his child.

They climbed into the back of a limo only to have her father embrace her once again, the softness of his voice reflected that of the man she had once called her father. Yet, now as she sat in the car, she wasn’t so sure. Her gaze looked down at the injures on her arms, they were bad and the blonde was getting light headed and spinning. Soon her motions reflected that as she started to rock back and forth in her seat. “Dad… I feel…”, “Hang in there pumpkin we’ll get you to the hospital.”

The drop off was quick and the blonde walked her wooze-self down the road and to the emergency hospital wing, her dad was rather brief but he wanted to make sure the police would stop looking for her. She made it to the entrance of the hospital and got the attention of a nurse before nearly falling over onto the cement. She awoke what was several hours later, her arms wrapped and high on morphine. Her cellphone was given to her which was surprising, and she was questioned by police which felt like it took hours then she was out again. When she finally awoke it was mid-afternoon, she pulled out her phone and texted Dick a simple message.

Hey, not dodging you, had some problems but I’m safe and in the hospital. The smell is horrible though. Lol
