I implied that Sentinel was responsible for Rose's death, but she would have been a zombie at the time. If you'd like it not to be Sentinel, then she was caught in a fire of some kind.

@Weird Tales I think there's been a timeskip of several days between the zombie attack and Luthor's address and subsequent military action. Not a hundred percent sure, but I'm sure Wraith will clear it up.
