Name: Hayden Rhodes
Age: 17
Class: Senior
Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri
New here?: Yes (second semester)
Appearance:
Favorite class: English Lit
GPA: 3.7
Personality: He's quiet and cunning. He could get whatever he wanted by simply smiling, and giving a polite wink. However, he doesn't use it to his advantage, like he used to. Since his mother died, he has changed. He's now more reserved. He understands that life is not given, and his mother's last words still ring in his head, "Let people in, but don't let them in for the wrong reasons. You'll be happier that way."
So, now, he drowns his memories of his mother in vodka, which he carries in a soda bottle on the side of his backpack. He has allowed his hair to grow past what his father would normally allow, not like he would care. He's developed a taste for tattoos and piercings, and cigarettes...and music (guitar mostly).
History:
Hayden grew up in a small suburb of St. Louis, Missouri. His mother was a teacher, there and his father a car salesman. Their family was the normal, white picket fence suburban family. He was clean cut, proper, had the perfect little blonde girlfriend, and made perfect grades in school.
That's when the cancer took over. His mother went from laughing, and enjoying her life, to agony, every single moment. The only good that he could remember, was that the cancer moved quickly, and didn't slowly eat away at her, as it would most unfortunates. Within six months, his mother was dead. His father moved quickly, taking a job in Manhattan working some fancy white collar shit, married a secretary of the same firm, and uprooted Hayden and everything he knew, to be closer to her.
Now, he doesn't see his father, outside of their weekly dinner at home, which typically includes the whore. Hayden would much rather just be alone, and away from the old man, but alas, he's stuck with him for another seven months or so, in this concrete jungle.

Name: Abraham "Abe" Buckner
Age: 41
Class: English Lit Teacher
Hometown: Ocala, Florida
New here? Yes (First Semester)
Appearance:
Personality: Calm, Cool, and collected. He's from Ocala, Florida, where he was regarded as the teacher all the students could go to with their problems. He's understanding and very forgiving, making him stand out as 'that' teacher. The other teachers envy or hate him, depending on their views.
History: He's back in the city. Abe grew up in NYC, moving away when his father moved for the Air Force, enlisting rather late in life. Abe spent time in many countries, only to settle down in Florida, where he has spent the majority of his adult life.
He graduated with a B.A. in Communications and History, and a Masters in Psychology, where he learned what he knows about analyzing and tailoring his classes to the needs of the individual student (though that is hard at this school, with classes as big as 50 students).

Name: Ember Gates
Age: 16
Class: Junior
Hometown: New York, NY (Brooklyn)
New here?: No.
Appearance:
Favorite Class: English Lit
GPA: 2.4
Personality: Ember is hard to read, sometimes. She's happy go lucky around a very select few individuals, including her newest friend, Hayden. For the most part, she's a little angry with the world, due to her disposition. She only deals with people when she's forced to.
History: Ember is a lost cause. She's a misfit, if you will, or at least that's how she sees it. She's never had a family, outside of the orphans that she has grown up around. She was born into the system, and unlike many, she stayed in the system. She was born with drugs in her system, and for the rich men and women of New York City, she wasn't the 'ideal' baby to adopt. So, she reached her critical age, and became a foster child.
Her foster parents have been great. They put up with her unwillingness to socialize, and her sneaking out. They've put up with her occasional drug use, and her one pregnancy scare, and have honestly stopped paying attention to her sneaking out, and doing things behind her back. It's expected of her. She's one of 'those' kids.
She met Hayden, his first day at the school. He seemed a lot like her (which she quickly found out she was wrong about) and he forced her to be around him. His constant attention, and unwillingness to leave her be with her thoughts caused her to let him in. When she did, however, she didn't expect the friendship that followed. Now, the pair are inseparable, despite the rumors that surround them.
