[IC] Not Your Average Fairy Tale

"Ohhh so you like it for your personal viewing," Lavender asked in a teasing tone with a raised brow, "I would wear a skort if they had them here. Yeah I keep getting cold shivers for some reason even though it is decently warm here." She huffed at the random cold flashed and her breath was like a fog. Startled she pulled her head back and repeated herself to get the same outcome.

"Well I guess my odd power has something to do with coldness," she stated.

Nyra turned around and looked at Lavender, tilting her head. "Does that mean you won't warm up? Is it uncomfortable?"

"It is slightly uncomfortable since I am used to being warm," she stated, "I think it is because I haven't fully developed my what-ever-I-have that my body is still confused at what temperature it needs to be.

Nyra lowered her head and wrapped one of her wings around her. She was cold to the touch, but hopefully she would warm her up a bit.

Lavender smiled at Nyra and felt slightly warmer. Extremely uncomfortable she tried concentrating on the cold throughout her body and it slowly dawned on her that ice was cold. She looked at her palm and bent over to touch the grass. When she was half and inch away the grassy glistened a bit and she saw ice particles. Proud of herself she smiled and looked at Basco then Nyra, "Looky looky!"

Nyra looked down at the icy grass and gave a nod of approval, smiling. She flapped her wings in excitement. "That is awesome! Maybe you can make stuff out of ice, too!"

Basco averted his eyes when teased about his personal interest in viewing girls in skirts, nearly in a blush. "Maybe......." trying to keep a straight face. "I guess skorts are nice...not the same though" he mumbled. He caught sight of what he witnessed before when Lavender gave a slight shiver. Seeing the fog coming from her mouth and Nyra trying to help her get warm, He noticed as the grass she touched, became icy, developing her new ability of ice creation. Basco showed a hint of intrigue and jealousy as Lavender showed how proud and happy she was of herself.

Basco nearly shed a tear when he saw the ability "First we have an awesome dragon...now....she has a cool ability....no puns intended...." feeling a little down but at the same time happy for the girl. "I'm curious to know just what the hell can I do with this body?" Wishing his time to shine would come. One thing for certain was that if they did run into enemies, they'd be the ones he'd worry about involving their safety instead of his comrades.

Lavender tilted her head at Nyra. "Like what all I can think of is swans? I don't think you mean ice sculptures though. Anything specific you want to see if I can make since I am out of ideas?"

Nyra shrugged her shoulders. "I have no idea. All I can think of are quick action snowballs." Nyra looked over at Basco, and lowered her ears. She could feel that he was down. She didn't know what to do, though. She didn't want to be a show off.

Lavender noticed Nyra ears before she realized Basco was down. Thinking back to her past reading on Roman and Greek mythology and got and idea. Concentrating really hard she made a ice satyr flute. She tested it and it worked. She handed it to Basco, "Here play this and put your emotion into what you play." I sure hope it works.

While Basco was kicking a pebble wondering what abilities he may have as a satyr, Lavender called over to him handling him what looks to be a pan flute made of ice. He looked at it rotating it sideways and flipping it the other way "Play this? I can't play these things. I don't know how...." he simply gave a sigh and put the pan flute to his lips. He looked at both Lavender and Nyra and then rolled his eyes not wanting to play an instrument. He began to play his first melody:

after the first try, he decided to play again but took a deep breath and concentrated as he tried again.

after playing to two melodies, he shrugged and looked at the girls "Wait so I gained the ability to play a flute.....I guess...it's not so bad....but it's not like flying or creating ice. Well...I can entertain on our trip with some record hits. I am a DJ back at home. Guess I can sorta do the same here..." trying to look at the bright side of his ability. He smiled but he hoped he had more skills than that.

Nyra let out a relaxed sigh at the sound of the music, curling her tail around her feet. She perked back up when he said something about flying. "Flying? I don't know how to fly..."

Lavender laughed at the first song, of course it had to be a video game theme. The second song made her extremely emotion heightened. "Hey if you project your emotions maybe you can manipulate other's emotion through the songs you sing. Not sure if it would effect everyone or not but I enjoy your music a lot." And you look extremely handsome playing it for some reason.

Lavender looked at Nyra, "All you have to do is flap your wings, right? Why not watch a bird and observe how it beats it wings?" She looked up and started to watch the sky wanting to observe how birds fly since she was to busy to do it back at earth.

Nyra spread out her wings, looking at them. She shook them one at a time. "But birds have feathers... I'm more like a bat..." Nyra let out a growl of determination and gave a great downward thrust of her wings. She was in the air of a second, but she forgot to keep flapping and fell back down. She twisted in the air and landed on her back.

Lavender cringed at Nyra's landing. "It may take some practice before it becomes natural for you," she said enthusiastically.

Nyra growled at herself and turned back over, covering her face with her wings. A few seconds later she uncovered her face and laid down. "I guess..." She had to be able to fly, she had wings! But why isn't coming to her naturally? She stretched out her wing, sore from her landing.

After the reactions both Nyra and Lavender gave when he played his music, He perked up from what Lavender told him. With his chest out "I guess that could be useful....effecting people's emotions...." when looking at Nyra claiming she couldn't fly, he was wondering why not? she have wings...so it was possible. Even with lavender's advice, Nyra was struggling which gave Basco an idea. "Hey how about this, since lavender hooked me up with my....new.....weapon? which...I thank you Lavender, I could play something for you to get you and your wings going. try and fly with the melody I play? what you think?"

Nyra looked up at him and smiled as best a dragon could. She stood back up and nodded eagerly. "We could give it a try! Maybe your music is magic!" She opened up her wings to prepare for flight.

Basco perked up once again hearing that that must have been it. His magic is his music..."Hm? that's a thought...what heck, wouldn't hurt to try it..."

Basco concentrated so to play something that would be uplifting for Nyra so to help her fly. closing his eyes, he took a deep breath and started playing:

Once he started, he opened one eye and watched to see if the music could give her the strength to take off from the ground.
