"Of course, now I can see objects in complete darkness. I have almost three times the strength of my human form. I have the cat like agility and fur to protect me from temperature extremes. I can smell you from the time you opened your door and as the scent get stronger I knew you were getting closer. My ears at this range can hear your heart beat. If I had the intention I believe I could climb any wooden structure with ease. My reflexes are twice what they were originally. I no longer sweat. My digestive system is even more efficient. I'm also a foot taller then I originally was with an extra hundred pounds. I'm currently going through the animal kingdom to be certain but so far I am the dominate species on the food chain. This in combination of my human mind makes me superior. the final test is to see if the longevity part is sustainable. A cat lives five years for every one of a human. I have made a reversal to this so now I will only age one year for every five, drastically increasing my life span." He looks at you with wild eyes and his paws on the table. A large tooth filled grin grows on his face.

"I must ask as a neutral party with no apparent interest in this what could you possibly find fault with my achievements?" He puts his elbows on the table and touches his paws together in front of his face.

"You're not human." Was the only thing Liz could think to say. She wasn't sure about the benefits he listed. She could see how they could be good traits to have. But what about the downside? There had to be negatives other the inability to do simple tasks. She didn't touch the food even though she was hungry she was deep in thought. "Alright. I will do what you ask. I will get started on feeding the animals. Just let me know what you want and what you want me to do. Leave me notes or tell me when you see me at breakfast."

He nods and finishes his meal. Refilling his cup of wine he stands and bows to you. "If you will excuse me, I need to retire. The food is all labeled. Please keep track of the different types of food with each creature. It will be your responsibilities to refill the proper buckets with the appropriate foods. Don't talk to them or give them names. I will let you know of any changes or special requests." With that he leaves you to the rest of your meal.

Liz rolled her eyes. She only started to eat once he was out of sight. She eat slowly thinking over everything he had said. Once she finished eating she headed out the House. The looked around to find the animals and the supplies. She would carefully tend each animal talking to them as she worked to brush, clean, and feed them. She gave them each a name. It helped her remember what animal needed what.

Animals

The cages were small and allowed no real movement for any of the creatures you were to feed. The enclosures were covered in runes and made of stone the bars were very thick and also covered in runes.

Liz studied the runes curiously. She didn't know what any of them meant. She thought some of them looked familiar but she wasn't sure. Although she was surprised by the creatures she wasn't afraid if them. She wondered how they had got there. And if there were results of the testing her master did. She didn't hesitate. Not even with the scariest if the creatures. She approached each with a smile and kind words. She treated them all with gentle kindness.

Most of the creatures were injured in small ways. None of them talked to you at first. The serpent man was the first to return your words. "Are you a prisoner too? My name is Ithikan. Can you not free us? Do you see we are here because of him. We don't belong here. At least could you help the sphinx. Her wing is broken if not healed then she might as well die."

"I will help if I can. I don't know much about your species. But I am a witch and can do some healing spells. I cant free you even if I wanted to. Most of you are not in good enough shape to be on your own. Those of you that are well are slaves like me. You would only end up in cages again. I will make your lives as comfortable as possible Ithikan but that is all I can do. My name is Liz. If I can do anything for you just let me know and I will do my best."

"You are kind." Ithikan said. "Beware the harpy, and the lizard man they live only to kill. The eel man is a creature out of water but with water comes his races lightining touch. He can kill with it. Don't give him more then a cup. I am poisonous the tiger milks me for his enemies. Each of us gives something to the tiger unwillingly. Soon he will have little need of us. I have nothing to offer you for your kindness."

Liz smiled. "I will keep that in mind." They all had their purpose. They gave their master. Some of them would hate him. Most would hate her. She was free while they were not. She would do what she could to make their lives easier but it wouldn't be easy. She had her own in its. She didn't stop for lunch instead she took an hour to sit in the shade. She thought about what she had seen and learned that day.

The sphinx thanked you for using your arts on her wing. The pain was gone and she had more motion in the limb. She told you she could teach you more to your education if you so wished. She had knowledge that spanned the centuries. Her name was unpronounceable so she settled on Misna. The day was warm and the shade tree was a welcome relief to your chores of using the long blade to prune and sheer the overgrown grounds. Be fore you knew it, the time for the evening feeding of his captures was once again upon you.

Liz rest until the even rolling in. Then she did her rounds again. This time she didn't take her time like she had in the morning. She wanted to get inside and eat. She was starving since she hadn't bothered to go into the house for the afternoon meal. Once the creatures were feed she went into the house. She went into the house. She headed right to the table where she had breakfast. She wondered if the beastman be joining her for supper. She hoped that he wouldn't be. She wasn't sure how she felt about him yet.

Turning the corner To enter the dinning room you saw the a fresh banquet of food. At the head of the table was Marcus. Eating and drinking. His tiger eyes saw you and he smiled at you. "Ah your alive I'm glad. I was worried on how your first day would go. You will fit in perfectly here." His tail moves slowly behind him. He wore the same style clothes as you first met. There was a slight difference. He seemed more feral and less human.

"Everything went fine." Liz assured him. Marcus seemed different. She couldn't put her figure on it. She wasn't sure it was a good thing. It made her nervous. "The creatures are all taken care of." she assured him. She took a seat at the table. She thought of the creatures and what she had learned through her interactions with them. What would he do with them when he was done with them she wondered.

"Good. There will be more arriving by tomorrow so I'll have them ready for your evening feeding. Don't forget to tend the grounds too munch over growth makes me feel a little more feral then I care for. If there is nothing else, then I must attend to my studies. Have a pleasant night." He rose from his chair but his upper body was hunched forward. He was larger in size the same way a child grows almost invisibly to anyone who wasn't a parent. His tail moved in serpent motions as he walked away. His ears pointed back and flat against his head.

After The tiger leaves and you finish your meal a motion draws your eyes to a cat but its eyes tell you there is munch more. The cat leaps up on the table and looks at you. "Hello you must be the new girl its nice to meet you I am called Tycus. I help clean this estate. I was created from magic and not a real cat. What is your name?" It waits for your reply. "That's a pretty one. I'm sure you have everything you need but if you require more I can help you."

Liz laughed. "Hello Tycus. My name is Liz. I am the newest arrival. Atleast I think I am. Anyway it is nice to met you. This is a very unusual place. I am not sure what to think of this place yet." She told him as she stood to her feet. She headed out of the room. She was curious about the cat. She had never made one made of magic. Not that she had met any of the creatures that she had met today. The cat was probably the most normal creature she had met today.

Tycus nods at your observations. "It is indeed. Liz, you should be fine. The labor is easy and the food plentiful. I have a feeling we will be comrades in servitude." His tail whipped slowly from left to right like clockwork. "I'm in charge of various things in the house. Made by Marcus to return books and push in chairs for the most part my work is invisible and under appreciated but its work and in return I an allowed to exist." He closed his eyes almost able to smile at you. "I don't mind conversation so if your would like to talk and know how to..." He tilted his head to the side and glared at you intently. "You have a soft glow about you. Liz you have magic in you. Did you know this? They are very atrophied. I can help you with that in exchange for a minor spell. I eat magic."

Liz shook her head. "I have been told I have magic. And I am very adapt at healing but honestly I don't know how to use whatever I have beyond that." She knew she had witch in her but she had never learned to use whatever power she had had. She honestly never needed to. Atleast she didn't think that she did. After all she was already in her twenties and to her knowledge she had never used it. "I don't have spells to give you."

"That is ok, I could teach you. you have the ability and as under developed as it is I can help refine it. You will not be able to move worlds or do anything god like but simple small uses of your craft to make you a well rounded caster. In time I might even be able to teach you how to do variations of your healing art. I can teach you help plants grow or animal calm when you approach. To create small globes of light or extinguish fire. To focus your art to create small pools of water or freeze it into ice. Your healing are comes from your nature affinity. Druids witches and the like have this. It limits you but can be expanded to more then just simple healing. Of course the choice is yours. I'm just a spell and have no desires other then what I was cast to do, which is to help." The cat stretches, lays down and looks at you.

"Well its getting late. Soon I'll have to begin my work. I suppose you would like to return to your room. I don't sleep and if you say my name I shall appear." As the cat lowers its head it closes its eyes and starts to fade away.

Liz shook her head. She didn't know what to think. She didn't know understand what was going on. But atleast she would never be bored here. She had never seen so much unusual stuff. But she knew little about magic and less about science. She would learn a lot here. She loved to learn new things. She slowly made her way to her room. She was tired and ready to call it a night. She changed into a nightgown and crawled into bed.
