Introduction
This roleplay would follow a squadron of sentient, if (mostly) subservient, military aircraft and their supporting personnel. This RP will take place in approximately 2021, and will involve a lot of sci-fi elements, mostly involving AI and future weapons.
Setting
In this roleplay, you will be limited to one of two species... either a human, or an android. The androids were built in labs as super-weapons, fighters and bombers and other planes that are never at the mercy of a fallible pilot. These aircraft can switch between a "flight body" (essentially the original airframe, save for upgrades and a glossed-over, computer-filled cockpit) and a "humanoid body", which is an anthropomorphic android of their original airframe. They are anatomically accurate and intelligent, also programmed and taught to be of various ages from the end of teens up to middle-aged veterans. They can not switch bodies at will, however. A special data cable and computer must be used. These "aeromorphs" can be of any model... cargo planes, helicopters, fighter jets, bombers, anything will be used.
Humans are just... humans. There are researchers, doctors, commanders, guards, and mechanics, as the flight bodies still need maintenance. Many people are at this airbase to observe the results and decide whether or not to take the program further.
Said airbase is a brand-new, three runway airbase out in the middle of nowhere in New Mexico, hidden as an aircraft boneyard.
Mechanics
There IS a plotline to this one. I will be setting off events for the players to react to, although this plotline can be affected by your actions. The airplanes themselves, while smart, are as random as humans and rather naive, as they have little real-world experience, but all of the emotions and thoughts of one.
You can play as either species, and any plane of your choice. Again, this will affect the plotline. All aircraft have to be from this world, however, and must be from after 1960.
The humans will be observing and supporting the aircraft, and trying to help them with becoming more human-like.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
That was all a lot, I know, but is anyone interested? This will be better fleshed-out later on if anyone is interested in this.
