"There is nothing that could be done... Tinder may at least rest now..." Sorreau looked to him and seemed to notice the wounds... and the bloodletting equipment he'd been given by the nameless knight. "If you are injured... partake of Tinder's blood. I realise it may seem queer... but the blood of the Godless is a valuable thing. A beaker of it will repair your wounds." She advised, clearly holding back a lot of emotion from how her expression was strained.

Eldarin looked at the tools as though he'd just remembered what they were for. Of course now he remembered that the knight had said the same thing as the women, that the blood of a Godless was valuable. Somewhat reluctantly he stepped forward and set to work, trying not to think about what he was doing. In a few moments the bottles were filled with the valuable blood. Eldarin carefully tucked it away, he didn't want to drink it in front of her. "Very well then, if I can offer you no more recompense, then I must be on my way." Eldarin said, the remorse he still felt audible in his voice, and turned to leave. Once he was out of sight of the women he would down one of the bottles of golden liquid, hopefully it wouldn't taste as repulsive as he imagined it would.

"Farewell..." Sorreau remained kneeling at her once loyal pet's side as the forest seemed to close in around him. Once he finally did stop to drink the liquid, he found it to be oddly tasteless, maybe the slightest hint of copper. It was a little thick too, syrupy in texture. But it did the trick, before he knew it, the wounds in his hands had healed up entirely. It left him with 3 full bottles of the Godless' ichor.
Once he was able to continue, something finally emerged from the thick treeline around him. It appeared to be a large building composed of slightly cream colored stone, weathered with age, covered in dirt and dust. It rose high above him, the size of a temple. There was a large oaken door in front of him, complete with rusty brass doorknobs in an elegant pattern. For now, it seemed to be his only path out of the forest.
A sudden yelp from behind him caught his attention as a familiar face suddenly trotted up to him. A fox, Brownie by the looks of him, with a leaf in his mouth. Once he was close, he sat before him and lifted his head up, seemingly offering the leaf unto him.

Eldarin shook his head to clear the odd taste from his mouth. It wasn't . . . Bad. He would just prefer not to drink it. Eldarin examined the temple in front of him with surprise, he hadn't expected such a large building to be in the middle of nowhere. However the further he got in this place the more wrong his expectations were. With a silent sigh Eldarin moved towards the doors but was stopped by a yelp. Eldarin whirled half-expecting another monstrous beast to attack him and was greatly relieved to see that it was only Brownie. It appeared to be offering him . . . A leaf. Well a gift was a gift, maybe it was magic or something. Eldarin knelt down and grabbed the leaf, scratching the small fox on his head briefly. "Sorry about your brother little guy, hope you don't end up like him." With that said Eldarin tucked the leaf away next to his bottles and rose from the ground to advance into the temple. Hopefully it wouldn't encounter too much trouble in here. At best he might find somebody else to help him on his way.

The fox ducked his head slightly as he accepted the little affection. When Eldarin took the leaf, he noticed something interesting about it... a white signature written in a language he couldn't understand adorned the leaf. It clicked in his head immediately what it was. This was a favour.

Favours were powerful little items created by many across the land. They acted as something of a summoning item to call upon a memory form of a person inscribed into the item. With a favour, one could summon beings from beyond the grave or from an older time. They were still a mysterious form of magic and would only become available for use at their own leisure, but obtaining one was a useful thing indeed.

The fox bowed to him slightly before it turned and darted back into the woods from whence it came. As it left, Eldarin caught the faintest sound of a chorus of cries of the other foxes, mourning the loss of their bretheren.

Ahead of him, the double doors swung outward, revealing a large foyer beyond. The floors were marbel in a repeating square pattern, large square pillars adorning the corners with a single tunnel leading deeper into the bowels of the building. There were two statues of knights on either side of the chamber as well. The thick aroma of dust hung over the place and it was barely lit, save for a few small torches on both walls.

Eldarin nodded in recognition of the gift, it could prove most handy if he found himself in a tough spot, though he wasn't sure what it summoned. Unfortunately he couldn't exactly test drive it so after safely tucking it away he stepped into the temple. It was a rather impressive building, fill of oversized statues and pillars. Seeing only one way forward Eldarin grabbed a torch off the wall and pressed on, admiring the knight statues, through the building was old and decrepit now, it surely would've been something to see in its heyday.

The opening in the hall led to a corridor stretching onward for a decent ways, his feet echoing off the marble floor and ringing around the empty walls of the temple. Two more knight statues, bearing short swords and shields, stood either side of this narrow corridor, a little too close for comfort. The corridor stretched beyond them, nothing but dim darkness ahead.

Eldarin shrugged his arms nervously, loosening them slightly. The emptiness of the temple, his noisy footsteps, the cramped corridors with the somewhat creepy knights. It was all a little bothersome. Still there seemed to be no way around it, so Eldarin reluctantly continued forward, awkwardly making his way through the two knight statues. To be honest he'd half expected some sort of giant spiders or what not to have attacked him by now, it was good that that hadn't happened, but the anticipation was riding up on him.

As he walked past the statue, he heard the slight shifting of stone and he could even smell the dust shifting slightly. One of the statues heads turned toward him and suddenly lunged out with its short sword. The blade was stone but it would still hurt if it hit him.

Eldarin halted at the distinctly grating sound of grinding stone, for a moment he thought he had stepped on a trap of some sort. The statue's head rotating was the second warning he received and just enough warning for Eldarin to turn the blade with his shield. The heavy sword smashing into his shield still hurt his arm but it was better than the weapon smashing into his head. Honestly it was more of a club than a sword considering its weight and bluntness but clubs still killed people. Eldarin was unsure of how to go about attacking a stone opponent so he quickly backed away further down the hallway while his opponent hopefully recovered its balance from the swing.

If statues did that. Going for the eyes would likely do nothing, perhaps the stone was old enough he could chip away at it with his sword? He was reluctant to use the explosive amount of magic that would be required to do damage to it in such an enclosed space. If he saw a chance to strike he would do so, otherwise it might be best to flee further down into the temple. He didn't know how far the statue would chase him so that could become troublesome but if he couldn't hurt the statue he had little other choice.

The statue took the moment to return to posture and advanced upon him, holding its sword up and its shield in its other hand as it approached him, slow and stocky but with a very deliberate step, helmet tilted toward him slightly. The stone of the statue looked dusty but still pretty new... but, something he could spot quickly was the stone used to make these creatures was not the same stone in their weaponry. A weaker stone was required for the spell that had been cast to create these guardians, thus, it would be easier to break with some well placed strikes.

Eldarin gave a slight nod to himself. He wasn't sure why the stone making up the statue itself looked weaker than the weapon it wielded, but he was sure to take advantage of it as best he could. Of course if even the weaker looking stone proved too tough for his blade he would either resort to magic or fleeing, but one step at a time. Eldarin delicately took a step closer to the statue, placing himself in range of another swing. He would have to get the statue to expose itself to allow him a adequate blow. Before the statue could react to his presence he lashed out with his long-sword in a quick thrust at the statue's face. He anticipated a block with the shield as it would be the simplest motion. If the statue did just that he would change the thrust into a sudden chop at the stone wrist that held the sword, aiming to sever it if possible. Otherwise he would have to adapt on the fly to whatever the statue decided to do.

His attack and better range forced the statue to defend itself with a block of its shield. His feint worked superbly as his blade hit the wrist of the statue, sinking in and cutting almost halfway through the limb. Whilst it was clear this hindered the statue somewhat, it was still active as it moved in close and lunged at him with its blade in a counter attack.

A grin of satisfaction spread across Eldarin's face in response to his blade cutting heavily into the relatively soft stone. Despite this the statue responded quickly enough, lunging at him. Eldarin yanked his blade out and whirled, slamming his shield into the side of the blade to deflect it and prevent the statue from attacking again as quickly. Given this maneuver was successful Eldarin would once again strike at the arm of the statue as it brought its sword back into position, likely completely removing it and making this fight substantially easier. Without a weapon Eldarin would be much more free to whittle down the statue or attempt something more daring like cutting off its head. One step at a time though.

The statue took a while to react and as the blade came down, its sword hand came off and clattered noisily onto the ground. Now wielding no bladed weapon, the statue took a deft new approach and decided it would use its shield as some kind of battering ram, holding it out and rushing at Eldarin, intent to smack the rounded metal into him.

One danger now, as Eldarin anticipated the statue now decided to strike with its only remaining tool. Figuring that he couldn't match it in a head-on collision he slithered to the side a moment before the statue reached him and body slammed the statue from the side, protecting himself from the impact with his own shield. Given the statue was knocked down, or even off balance, Eldarin would swipe with his sword at the statue's neck in an attempt to remove that next. In order to more it more effective, as cutting through the smaller wrist had been difficult, he would send flames racing down his blade to help the blade cleave through the statue.

The statue was knocked and it crashed into the wall, causing it to stagger momentarily and it gave him a chance at a hard strike on the neck. His blade dug in beyond halfway and it seemed that was enough as natural cracks formed after the statue's neck was broken into. The entire hulking stone soldier fell to his knees and pitched over forward, cracking into fragments and leaving only its shield behind.

The flames quenched themselves as soon as Eldarin made sure the statue wasn't moving anymore. Breathing hard at the exertion Eldarin glanced at the shield that was all that was left of the statue other than shattered fragments. His own buckler looked admittedly inadequate beside the statue's shield with its greater size. Curious Eldarin dropped his own buckler and hefted the other shield experimentally, moving it around a little to test its weight. He would like to use it, but if it was too bulky he would leave it behind.

The shield was iron in an oval shape with a city's seal upon the front, strangely in a bell shape of some sort. It was decently large, not quite a kite shield in size but easily above to cover most of the arm. It was a little heavy, but considering the statue had wielded it with ease, he would most likely be able to as well.

Eldarin shrugged. It would do better than his old one, though adjusting to the slight increase in weight might be a little strange. Leaving his buckler behind Eldarin grabbed his torch again and pressed onward in the temple, now watching for more killer architecture. Hopefully none of the pillars or anything would come to life, now that would be troublesome.
