I should point out what I just did is called an interrupt, you carried out a number of actions in your post, providing Adrian ample time to break in and mess with the flow of your actions, in this case Adrian dropped his bow and launched a Silence spell, depriving the blade of its target by accident while also forcing Athinar to deal with the spell. That means we're not at the point where your character picks up his physical sword yet.
