After creating mankind and placing them on the Great Continent, the god of Life and Creation realized that if the elements which he created the world and its life of were to fall out of balance his creation would be ruined. To maintain balance he created seven immortal beings, lower gods with power over their element. While these beings could appear to be killed, they would simply become one with their element and be reborn from it in a place where that element is strong, or in their shrine, where the monks are sworn to secrecy as to our identities.
The seven elements, fire, air, water, earth, light, dark, and force have dominion over any source of that element, including human powers which use them, though powerful uses of their abilities will drain them so that they must regenerate.
As the Immortals, we maintain the balance, and as such we cannot reveal ourselves to the mortals. Recently, however, the god of Death and Destruction has been speaking to us in our dreams. He offers to increase our power by increasing our element in nature. We don't know which of us have decided to follow him, but when they reveal themselves we must defeat them.
Immortals all share a few common abilities which humans don't have. The use of these abilities will reveal their identity to others. Besides being roughly 100 times stronger than the strongest human, their powers are:
Elemental teleport: By becoming your element and moving as that element, one can travel to another location. While anyone who sees it will know you are an immortal, they won't know who you are unless you convert between forms where they can tell it was you.
Elemental healing: Because they can become an element, absorbing an element or its energy will heal them, though the maximum rate of healing is 15 seconds to heal a mortal wound or 1 minute to regrow an arm.
Elemental telepathy: Can transfer thought through an element. Some human masters can do this weakly. This can be used to contact our monks or priests, or to contact other Immortals by using the intersection of our two elements.
Elemental Seed: A seed of elemental power which with sprout in the first unpowered person it enters. Can be transferred through will, sex, or, in the case of women, pregnancy. Can't give powers to someone who already has a power.
