So I want to start an RP based on either the idea that the game ingress or Pokémon Go is real. I have different plot ideas for both and I will update this with information about both, as this is mostly a place holder until I figure out which of the two has a bigger interest. Since we have decided to go with Pokémon, I'll be getting an actual RP up for that soon, which I will cap at 6 players if necessary. The idea and plot behind are still a work in progress. I love questions and any suggestions are welcome!
Pokémon Go!
This game doesn't quite exist yet dated for a 2016 release this game revolves around the idea that you run around trying to catch wild Pokémon hiding in the real world. Features would also include; battling other users, group battles, trading, and a weird challenge concept where a large group would work together to take down a legendary Pokémon. For our intents, the events that follow take place months after the public release.
The game didn't exactly take the world by storm but there was no denying it was popular. However, Japan was a different story in that anyone with a smartphone had the game. Whether they casually played or centered their lives around the game it was the status quo. This obsession made Japan but more specifically, Tokyo the hub of all the biggest events and the most exclusive content. It was this exclusiveness that drove players from around the world to make insane journeys to be close to what was easily referred to as the Holy land of Pokémon. The highest density and concentration of players was why no one batted an eye when stories of electrocuted players, storms appearing and vanishing in minuets, objects, and in a few cases, people inexplicably catching fire. It was ignored, there was something people didn't want to acknowledge. Rumors circulated, people gossiped, no one took anything seriously. The truth known to a privileged few is that the game is calling beings, Pokémon, from their dimension and pulling them into ours. Only a few know this fact and even fewer have chosen to act upon it. Some will push the rifts to bring their allies into the world to control it, some will try to close these openings and help Pokémon back through.
Let me know what you think and the more popular of the two will be the idea we go with. Pokémon Go was the crowd favorite. If you were just dying for something like ingress in your life, PM me, we'll figure something out.
