Age: 23
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual, demisexual
Occupation: Princess
Talents / Skills: Researching, utility magic spells (low level)

Brief Personality
Ayana is a friendly, introverted, and sweet woman. While not having any real issues with socializing, she never quite goes out of her way to join the crowds either and prefers to be alone or in small groups instead (though she normally ends up alone). It's not uncommon to see her in the libraries, trying to learn of exotic places, people, and unusual spells, giving her a vibe of a scholar of sorts. She's playful when she's feeling comfortable with someone and has a lot of hidden thoughts and ideas that most people don't get to see.

Brief History
Growing up with much older siblings, it was as if she were an only child, but still among a small sea of chaos that came from a full family. Having one older brother and two older sisters, it was more or less like she was the runt and everyone was so busy learning how to be proper, educated, and political that it gave way to let Ayana pursue more liberal means in her life. Her only supporter was really her father, but being king and needing to groom his other children for the throne, he didn't have as much time as Ayana would've liked. Still, he accepted her fully and openly when she had finally discovered her attraction to other females - even though the rest of the family was not so supportive of the choice. She kept to herself mostly and buried herself in other worlds about strange and far away lands and people. So when her father discussed the merging with the Mers, it seemed only natural to try and give his youngest the happiness she deserved - even if it was arranged, at least it was with a woman.

A kingdom located next to a Mediterranean sea, while boasting some of the most renown scholars and wizards to grace the land, is actually quite small compared to most of the others that are spread across the rest of the world. The people of Valona believe in integrity of character, honesty, and kindness above most other traits, giving way to a small, but happily-knit community. They share a decent amount of travelers from the land, even if most of them are inspiring mages, but still mostly keep to their own in order to protect their unique culture. They are protective of their own from outsiders, however due to a small community mindset, they can as often praise and encourage individuals as much as outcast them for being quirky, weird, or seemingly out of place.

When interacting with outsiders, they are friendly, if distant, and offer as much assistance and help as they can without making themselves feel exposed. The recent king, Keltin, has found their next door neighbors, the Mers, to be of an agreeable sort. Being a bit wiser than the normal culture of Valona, he's seeking a treaty and new allies in the strange fish men. Though they've been aware of one another for some time, it wasn't until a few months ago that King Keltin reached out to the clan leaders in order to bring their people together for the betterment of both parties. After some discussion and finding common ground in how they merge households, they both decided to offer one of their children for marriage or bonding. The uniqueness of the situation brought them to the conclusion that offering each of their daughters would be best for both their children and still solidify the merging.

Further discussion revealed that the Mers had a much simpler bonding ceremony than what humans were normally used to, where both bride and groom (or brides, in this case) coming to an altar of their choosing and performing a handfasting. Normally this was followed by celebrations to congratulate the new couple, however King Keltin in attempt to offer an easy truce, gave the final decision to the clan leader. The benefit of both cultures sharing tools, skills, weapons, and knowledge was far greater than anything his daughter might want - though he does mention that while she does not enjoy crowds (making the after celebration less important), the idea of having a meaningful ceremony was important to her.

Name: Iri (eery) of Pyries (pie-ris)
Age: 47 (equivalent of ~20)
Gender: Female
Sexuality: Homosexual
Occupation: Hunter, Mother, Guard
Talents / Skills: Hunting, shaping imendrel, knows the ocean

AppearanceI have no picture :(
-13' long from head to tail tip
-grayish blue, lightening along her stomach, with darker lines down her sides
-mottling of darker speckles across her back
-black eyes, black nails
-grey hair grown long and often tied back in some complicated weave

Brief Personality
Iri is a curious creature. She enjoys learning new things, and likes to meet new people, but she is very much a homebody who prefers that these occasions occur within her control and within an area she knows well. Asking questions is generally safer than going into the dark cave herself... For all her practical caution, however, she can be quite fiercely protective, and if a member of her clan is in danger, or potentially in danger, she will forget what fear she might feel for herself and act against the threat without hesitation. She knows her strengths and limits and is not afraid to admit them, believing that it is better to know her limits and ask for help than put herself or any others in danger because of simple pride. She can be a little competitive though, and likes to push herself. She can be a bit mothering and pushy with those willing to take it, but can be made to listen to opinions other than her own and accepts the occasional reproach over her actions. So, she tries to respect it if someone tells her they don't appreciate her care that way.
