THE SHORE

Start: 9/22/2015
End: 10/09/2015
Combatants: @LeeRoy vs.@Melonhead.
First Post: LeeRoy

This is a mystical place, a fragmented memory of the Dreamers Home World as it was long before they ascended. The opponents start on opposites sides of the lake; the entire area is 2,500 square feet of combat area. The water is special to the Dreamers, from it rises fumes that will affect the senses of the combatants if they linger in the water. The longer one stays in the water the more heightened the sense become for a total of three posts for each of the combatants their senses are similar to the Dreamers. Able to see the entire length and breadth of the electromagnetic spectrum, as well as allowing them to see and understand the influences gravity has on an object. The air is heavy, and the gravity is twice what the combatants are used too, effectively doubling their weight. The water does offset this.

The light from the setting sun is in the ultraviolet spectrum creating haunting purples and blues on white or light clothing.

@LeeRoy @Melonhead @DjAtomika if Melon cannot make a post in a 72-hour time frame after LeeRoy posts due to his internet situation, I will substitute DJ for Melon. Melon will still retain his victory and incur no loss for this round because he cannot participate due to lack of internet.

I'm glad you put this suggestion forward, if I had heard nothing from the internet providers I would have suggested it myself, but I'm -expecting- internet returned to me by tomorrow, so it shouldn't be necessary,

Might be able to get one more post in if you want to, get past the introduction phase. Considering our characters I'm not sure there's going to be a conversation, but that will probably depend on what factors unfold.

Hey, if you're facing eachother it's technically face to face, regardless of distance.

@MelonHead
Few things: The observations happen AT Mach 5, as his eye scans you faster than his brain registers and then it catches up a few milliseconds later, so cutting them short isn't happening. The thorough analysis happens in somewhere under a thousandth of a second, which is what 4x human thought speed is. Him speaking out loud about it, yeah, that'd be cut short.

As well:
Due to both of them choosing to run at the other, the gap could be closed in a pittance of time, meaning that for Shin to draw his weapon now would take too much time, leave him vulnerable, and seal his fate.

Two posts prior:
Withdrawing his weapon from his belt loop and letting his arm hang with it, testing the weight by swinging it back and forth.

Hmm, I was searching for your character drawing his weapon but I couldn't find it, guess I'd better edit.

One of the problems of only having short periods to post.

I'm not convinced that you could accurately pick out the vials on Metz belt or the holes in his jumper from fifty feet away while both characters are running, but it's ultimately unimportant.

Anyway, changed the spell to reflect that your character did have his weapon out, so relying on the Death Hand would be suicide.

To be fair, your character's eye power only suggests it can track quick objects, it doesn't suggest it can see things from beyond an ordinary human capacity other than that. It doesn't even say it can see further than an ordinary human eye, which has trouble discerning details such as the number of vials at Metz' belt from fifty feet away.

As for your character's weapon, I guess I was misled because you didn't really mention the weapon at all in your most recent post, I'd have thought it would feature in some fashion considering the difficulty of running with such a weapon.

So to clarify, the current situation involves are characters running at each other at full speed, Metz has cast a bolt and has drawn his pistol, but hasn't had time to actually shoot it yet.

To be fair, you're definitely wrong about sand, though the gravity effects would definitely play their part dry sand is immensely more annoying to move in, and the gravity would probably be equally problematic for both dry and wet sand. I can only rely on 20 years of sporadically visiting beaches, but I have never once seen wet sand (not sand actually underwater, but sand that has been saturated to some degree) be more difficult to walk through than dry sand.

It depends on the sand and the location, the sand back home in Mississippi is real slimy and loose. Like incredibly soggy mud and if your foot sinks into it, it's like pulling it out of said soggy mud.

I suppose, but as I'd already specifically had Metz walk on the wet sand because it was easier it stands to reason that the variety of sand here is the sort that becomes compacted and easier to walk on when wet, as it wasn't explicitly stated in the Arena description.
