Is it the name, the writing, or something else that makes you think, I am female?
No self respecting man would call themselves "BurningDaisies"! (Well, this is you we're talking about....)
Mind you, you can use whatever pronoun suits your fancy, but I was just curious.
Good, I'll go on tumblr and find the stupidest pronouns I can find!
I edited the power a bit :). Let me know your thoughts.
You might want to put the weaknesses to their forms in - you know - the weakness section. lol
Also, anyone want to work on some pre-established relationships :)?
Well, Alice can know Jen, they both have interests in gaming and shizz. Meifeng could lead to some interesting conversations because she wants to become a NEST Agent, and how her mother is with NEST. She could know Trevor, and my new character, Cindy (When I put her up).
Now, since there isn't really a lot going on in the ball, I think I'm going to end it soon and just kick freemode into motion, and start building up towards the main plots!
@UrbanEvolution@Mr Allen JGod dammit, ignore that error. It was late when I wrote the description section and I kinda mixed up the character with someone else I wrote a while back, only just noticed. Fixed.

Alright then, you have quelled my growing rage. They are accepted.
The one thing I'd like to point out about her character are the potential psychological effects that should be occurring as times goes on. Since the issue is still fairly fresh it's passable that she hasn't suffered from anything yet- but as timeskips occur and as she settles into her new life as a disabled citizen I'd personally like to see that disaster be played with respect in her character. Allen and I were talking and we have no problem with her being in such a calamity- so long as that affects her.
Being shot several times is kinda really bad, but knowing her friends were shot and killed (even if she did or didn't see it, since it's not really stated if she witnessed their deaths or not) should be playing some role in her person. Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (cant stop remembering the night in her dreams), depression (It's my fault they died, I came up with the plan to go to the fair that night. It's my fault it's my fault it's my fault...), general trust issues with people (what if they pull a gun on me? Do I want to run the risk of losing them?), and crowd discomfort (Because she was in a crowded place during the shooting).
A real person would probably have ALL of these things. I'm not a GM, so my word isn't law, but I'd really like to see her character's issues be played with more respect as time goes on- because while it might not be eating her now (two weeks after) it SHOULD be at the one month mark.
Just some food for thought.
That is indeed part of the plan Urban, it's going to be an interesting role to play because of the nature of the trauma, but it will be a challenge, and I always enjoy that, I think right now she's more likely in a state of shock, but it is something that I intend to play more into the RP, as time moves on she will have to learn to come to terms with what happened. Hopefully I can do it justice :)
@Mr Allen J, I'm creating a prone to die pseudo-serial killer guy who's in the fear business. Should I create a CS for any possible "pawns" in his game?
@UrbanEvolution@Mr Allen JGod dammit, ignore that error. It was late when I wrote the description section and I kinda mixed up the character with someone else I wrote a while back, only just noticed. Fixed.
African-American, & Indian (With a little bit of Caucasian in there)
Physical Appearance:
First glance, and Cindy looks a little geeky. It's probably the glasses, and her braces, mixed with her ethnicity. The way she dresses, and acts, is much more in line with the Verthaven natives, however. Two different genealogies give Cindy a distinct appearance, and she appears quite racially ambiguous. For starters, her facial features are heavily Indian in terms of descent. She has the nose, the jaw, and sharp facial shape that is heavily consistent with Indian women specifically of the Indo-Aryan demographic. However, her skin is a brown color that most people would attribute to African people, her lips are thick, and her hair has a afro-texture. All these features are predominantly African. Cindy's face has a angular bone structure, with her head/face having a diamond shape. Her face gets thinner the more you go down, and she has a pronounced, square-shaped, chin (With a cleft AKA. butt chin). Her lips, as stated before, are quite thick and full, and have a pointy shape. Usually, these lips are painted with a red lipstick of some sort, but naturally they're a brown (with a light red hue) color. Above those lips is her medium sized nose, that is upturned - the tip sticks out forward a bit, and gives her nose that triangle-shape. It's a very pronounced facial feature. Her eyes are somewhat large, have a round-shape, and have a striking brown-color to them. Her eyes are pretty beady, actually. With thin eyelashes, and eyebrows, her eyes are stated to be her most notable feature. Her ears are diamond-shaped, and are somewhat large. In terms of hair, it's a brown color, and has a thick afro-texture. It's very curly and frizzy, so Cindy keeps it in two afro-puffs on the side of her head.
As for her build, Cindy is average heighted, and that surprises her. She was pretty short growing up. She spent a lot of her life being the short one in her (Very tall) family. Still, she's not exactly tall as her mother (and no where near her father). Seriously, she looks like a midget compared to them. Her build is rather skinny and toned, because her exercise regime set up by her parents have kept her thin, and she religiously follows it. She's pretty in shape, lacking muscles, or body fat - but what she does have simply accentuates her figure (I.E stops her from looking like skin and bones). She has broad shoulders for someone her size. Puberty was certainly generous for Cindy. She has feminine curves, and rather thick hips and thighs, with a round behind. Her bra size isn't anything impressive, but she's a B-cup. Skin, like I stated before, is a brown color, splashed with black freckles on her cheeks, and nose area. Skin isn't completely without scars, or any other marks. Scars here and there from small incidents. There's a very thin slashing scar on her right cheek, but it's so small that most people don't even notice it. Cindy has similar wounds all over her body. Caused by accidents while experimenting with her power. The most wounds she has are the one that are on her arms. A mass of whirling slashing scars on her arms. She tries to keep these scars covered, but in a hot city like Verthaven, it'll be difficult.
Attire:
Cindy's style is pretty hipster. She has that street style that Verthaven girls are known for. She wears a flashy T-shirt, with a jacket of some sort over it. Shorts, and whatnot. Her outfits are somewhat baggy, and loose. Other times, Cindy dresses like a business-woman. Wearing dress shirts, and she's notable for wearing ties. Like I mentioned before, she wears glasses due to a stigmatism inherited from her mother's genes. Though, she has a variety of glasses to choose from. Red framed glasses, and thin metal framed glasses are her favorite. As her street performer persona, Cindy dons a black trench coat, with a black dress shirt underneath it. She puts on leather gloves, and steel-toe boots. As her mask, Cindy puts on her usual emerald colored mask made out of glass. With a wide-brimmed cowboy hat on her face.
Personality
Innate & Outward Personality:
A pretty cool and collected girl, Cindy is known for her laid-back attitude. She never really raises a fuss over the small stuff, and usually takes a calm approach rather than an aggressive one. She solves her problems with her words, rather than her fists (But even she has her limits). She's also quite humble, she doesn't think too highly of herself. She definitely leaves her ego at the door. In her interactions, she is fairly casual. She speaks in a casual and friendly manner, and uses the lingo and slang you'd expect a eighteen year old to use. Not overly energetic, but she puts enough passion into her interactions that leaves a good first impression. Usually putting on a confident half-smirk, and not acting like an asshole. Certainly playful and confident with other people, and tends to spout jokes, and the sorts. Though, otherwise, she is quite mature for her age. That isn't to say that she's wise beyond her years, but she keeps herself from acting childishly, or petty, and is fully capable of discussing things in a very mature manner. This mature side certainly shows in her interests in reading, and other mature subjects. Though, she has a bit of brutal honestly that she struggles. She's definitely not afraid to speak her mind, and not consider her friend's feelings. Which tends to cause a little bit of a divide between her friends, and herself, when she gets a little too harsh. Like calling her friend's out on their stupid behavior, or telling someone some things are a bad idea. Now, that isn't to say that she's completely mature, she certainly enjoys partying, and going on adventures. Though, she's not exactly the type to go by herself herself, Cindy would only really go on such trips with friends. Otherwise, she'll definitely sit it out. Cindy is definitely the type of person who wouldn't try anything unless one of her friends does it first. If there isn't a friend, she'll certainly politely refuse if it isn't in her best interests. Peer pressure's an incredible deterrent. It's the kind of thing that tends to get her in trouble. When she's not having a good time.... well, it's not hard to infer it. She usually goes reclusive, or glues her eyes to her phone (Nearest communication) and acts incredibly dismissive, and passive aggressive. Passive aggressive in the way that's conveying that she wants to leave, and tends to be bitter about it.
When she's talking to people, there's certainly two sides to interactions, in person, or through electronics. You see, Cindy's certainly a girl that's constantly glued to a screen, texting someone, or talking to them. It really dulled her ability to talk to people in person. She tries to force confidence, and she's gotten quite good at talking to people in person, but it often feels quite awkward. Often saying the wrong thing, or at times, looking away like she has something better to do. Talking to someone through Texts and social media seems much more comfortable for her, because she really feels relaxed while doing it. For the most part, she sees herself as an empathetic person, and doesn't hesitate to be a shoulder to cry on. She certainly invites other people to let her be that person. Though, the problem comes when you remember her aforementioned bluntness. Because it's extra pronounced in these situations. Cindy sees herself as pretty free-thinking, and open minded, young girl. Despite the fact that she follows her friends a little too closely. Cindy is a girl that certainly has a temper, or doesn't consider her words carefully when angry. When someone pisses her off, or even annoys her, she'll verbally lash out against them. That's when her filter turns off, and she starts swearing, insulting, or just being a bitch. Though, she often tends to say things that she doesn't mean to her friends, and feels quite a bit of remorse over it. When insulted, Cindy always returns the favor, and it isn't uncommon for her to get into scream offs with other girls. Cindy's morality tends to lean towards neutral. She's a nice person, certainly, but she doesn't have the heroic resolve that other people have, nor the ruthlessness to commit crimes. She'll help friends, and people she comes across, but she ain't Mother Theresa. Despite her powers, she knows that Verthaven isn't a place for half-cocked wannabe heroes. And she isn't the type to hang around soup kitchens, either.
When perusing her goals, Cindy goes about them with enthusiasm and passion. Because it's something that she loves to do, and she feels life would be meaningless if you didn't have anything to strive for. It can be hard to get her off her goals because of this mindset. Cindy wishes to some day become a pilot (Helicopter pilot, and/or plane pilot, if she has the time for both), and insulting her dreams will certainly earn her ire. Cindy is pretty independent, and responsible - and more importantly, reliable. She tends to keep her word, and follow through with her promises. This is what lead her to be so independent, she believes that she can handle herself, and is no newbie to Verthaven. She's been going out alone, and hanging out with friends, and (generally) not making terrible decisions, so her parents give her a bit of freedom. She certainly doesn't need anyone holding her hand. Spending years in the Verthaven streets has basically given her a bit of sharpness, perception, shall we say. She knows where to go, who to talk, and more importantly, who and where not to. Cindy goes about life with the same mindset. Cindy acts covertly as a street performer, using her power to preform amazing tricks, and making little trinkets for people. For cash of course. It used to be something that she did for money, but now she loves it.
Innately, Cindy has a bit of psychological trauma from the recent events. She feels immense guilt and remorse for when she was manipulated by her cousin, and literally hates the person she used to be. The cruel bitch that shot other people down. She feels much better now that she's a changed person, but she can't help but feel bad for all the people she ruined. All the fun that she had at the expense of other people. Yet, she still struggles with this mindset, and it still shows to this day. Sometimes she'll consider getting a little too sociopathic with her fun, or might bully someone else if her mood is shitty enough. She knows this is wrong, and will do anything in her power to redeem herself for it. Cindy also tends to hold grudges, and it will certainly drive her to do petty and stupid things to get even.
And don't ever call her "Black Cindy". She'll loose her shit if called that.
Hobbies/Interests:
Anything that flies, really. Cindy, from a young age, has expressed dreams of becoming a pilot. That shows in some of her choice in decorations, and books (She likes to read books about planes and helicopters). That leads me to another thing, Cindy likes to read books. She can lie down on her bed, reading a book for hours should she have nothing to do (Though, she has a Kindle). Not without her iPod, of course. Cindy has a love for music, and despite her race, she tends to enjoy indie, techno, and shoegaze (Which make up 60% of her iPod library). Cindy is also a gamer. She likes to play Nintendo the most, but has some games for the PS4. Street performances with her power has become a love of her, just seeing people get amazed by her ability has started up something inside of her. It's become one of her passions (Which earns her a little extra cash).
Skills/Talents:
Just to give Cindy something to do, her parents forced her to learn the violin. It wasn't really her style, and she struggles at learning it, but she keeps at it. For them. She isn't anything special, however, and she tends to make loads of mistakes while playing. Cindy has been aggressively attempting to learn how to fly something. Since flight schools don't come cheap, she started off with the simple car. Starting with her provisional license, Cindy got herself a fully pledged driver's license when she turned eighteen. She's a pretty good driver. Cindy also worked her ass off to get a Scooter license. Her father also insisted on taking her out on these fishing trips. Only thing she got out of that was that he taught her how to drive a boat. Which is the only reason why she kept going along. Only sports that Cindy got herself into were Tennis, and Soccer. And she hasn't played Soccer since she was thirteen. Tennis, on the other hand, is something that she does to this very day. Often heading to the Tennis parks to practice, and get some games in with the old people. She's quite light on her feet, and her reflexes and dexterity are nothing to mess around with.
History/Bio:
Now, Cindy was born as the result of a unwed couple getting a little too passionate with their love. Her mother was a northern Indian Immigrant named Asha Muliere, who came to America with her family decades ago. They brought a gift from India, too. The ability to manipulate glass has been running deeply in Asha's bloodline for generations. She worked as a teacher for Academy 12, and helped the students learn to control their powers. On the other side, there's Cindy's father, Jackson Keagan. A man who climbed out of the poverty that is Eagle-Rock Row, and avoided the gang violence that is prevalent in the area. He followed his passions to the top, and became a jazz musician for anywhere that'd let him and his band preform. He had to take a second job, but he was otherwise happy. They met at a bar, after some particular flirting, they became a thing. Months later, and they became particularly intimate. After a few romances later, Cindy was conceived, and introduced a conundrum for them. Asha's family didn't approve of their relation (And even less about Asha birthing a bastard), and they didn't exactly have enough money to support the child. They figured that they'd get married soon as possible, and try their best (Since neither of them wanted to give her up for adoption - nor did they want to abort her).
So, they got married soon as possible, and they moved into an Apartment in Knightdale Rows (Not too far away from Academy 12). Cindy was born (Her parents got into a long back and worth as to what to name her, agreeing on Cindy), and did nothing but eat and shit as she grew bigger. There wasn't anything special about her upbringing, no dead parents, no dark and tragic past. She was driven out of the way to a school in University Row. Cindy gained a love for planes, and helicopters, at a young age. While it was odd, her parents didn't bat an eye when Cindy asked for a toy helicopter/plane. Her parents worked their ass off to keep them afloat, and generally came home exhausted. So they couldn't exactly give Cindy the love and attention they should have. Which lead to some... interesting patterns as she developed. Once Cindy became ten years old, she inherited the powers of her mother's family: Glass manipulation. It manifested in school, in the lunch room, when Cindy was getting into a fight with another classmate. The windows exploded outwards in the middle of the scuffle - fortunately, no one was injured. After a brief conversation with NEST, and Asha fixing the windows, Cindy was registered under NEST, and everything was cleared up. It wasn't unexpected, but it opened the way for new possibilities. Using Asha's Academy connections, Cindy was, predictably, put into Academy 12.
This is where Cindy was taught how to use her powers, and given a superb education. Her mother in particular, despite the differences in their power, taught her all of her tricks, and made Cindy an effective glass manipulator. Along with honing her social skills. However, there was a bit of a divide between her parents. It was revealed to Asha that Jackson was running drugs for the Red Crowns, and using every musical jig he got to distribute drugs for cash. He did this to get the Keagans into a better situation, but said he'd swore it off after he got the money to buy a local club and fashion it into a local dig for the up and coming musicians. Asha said that if he didn't burn the money, she would leave. Jackson tried to negotiate with her, but the mere thought of trying pushed her off the edge, and she choose to leave Verthaven. Asha tried to take Cindy, but her daughter was incredibly adamant on staying. She gave up, and left her daughter with him, as she left the city. This is where Cindy's bad side started to shine. She was given a bit too much freedom by Jackson, since he was too busy running his club.
Cindy fell into the wrong crowd, and became, in simple terms, a huge bitch on the campus. With her new group of friends, they bullied the weaker students at Academy 12, and done some extremely hateful things (Like leak nudes and embarrassing pictures to the internet, and savagely beat up other girls). Cindy knew it was wrong, but she loved the power, and sure as hell didn't want to let it go. She did receive plenty of punishment for her actions. She, and her friends, were suspended from Academy 12, and received many warnings NEST. Jackson gave Cindy some very stern talkings to, and punished her. Utterly forbidding her from seeing those friends. This didn't change much at all.
Things took a turn for the worse once a cousin of hers was sent to Academy 12 from Black Fall - Tally Aulin Muliere. Cindy didn't exactly have too much contact with her family on her mother's side, but she recalled that her mother was talking very unkindly about Tally. When she arrived in Verthaven, she stuck to Cindy, and, at first, was pretty harmless (Albeit annoying to the bitchy Cindy). That was because her cousin was a telepath, a powerful one. She was using her power to gather information on Cindy, and was waiting to use it to her advantage. Once she had what she needed, she immediately blackmailed Cindy, and threatened to share all her deep dark secrets if she didn't do what she said. Cindy, obviously reluctantly, went along with it. These things that she was forced to do was act as Tally's personal attackdog. Using her far more offensive ability to attack Tally's enemies. And most importantly, she made Cindy humiliate herself in front of her friends. Tally was doing everything she could to ruin Cindy's social life.
However, Cindy was utterly pushed to her limits when Tally tried to get her to attack Jackson, her own father. Cindy drew the line in the sand here, and called her cousin an irredeemable sociopath. That's when Tally attacked her mentally, Cindy clenched her head and fell over as Tally started brutally attacking her. Cindy, in a fit of desperation and fear, summoned all the glass in the area, and created a whirling glass storm. Which, gave herself some cuts... but Tally was horribly wounded. Shredded to bits by glass. Cindy was horrified, and NEST and the EMTs quickly came on scene. NEST arrested Cindy, while the EMTs took Tally to the hospital. Those were the worst couple hours of her life. They told her about the serious damage she caused to Tally, and how they could throw her in a box, and lock away the key. Cindy was horrified by what she's done, and tried to plead with them.
Cindy told them everything that Tally did in a desperate bid to appeal to them. While they did sympathize with her, they didn't exactly let this slide. Tally had caused grievous injury to another human being with her power, so she had to serve a bit in prison. Fortunately, since she was fifteen at the time, she didn't get hit with the worst sentence. A year in a special NEST prison for Metahuman youths. And that year was one of the worst years of her life. She was trapped in a box, with a uncomfortable metal collar around her neck, with people who really belonged there. They taught her how to responsibly use her power, and attempted to help with her mental state the best they could, but she was on the verge of snapping. Fortunately, she managed to get out two months early for good behavior. That was when Cindy decided to change her ways. Renounce the person she used to be.
Going home was awkward. Turning her back on her old friends was even more awkward. But, she managed to ease into it as she made new friends out of the people in Academy 12. She was on NEST probation, so even the slightest offense could get her put back in prison, so she tried to act like an angel. Things changed so much in eight months, her father's club was a hit. And he was glad to have his daughter back. Cindy kept her head out of trouble, and made friends.
Next few years went by quite well, and uneventfully as Cindy readjusted to normal life. Probation wore off, so she was free. Cindy made plenty of friends in the likes of other Academy 12 students (Meifeng, Trevor, etc), and kept herself trouble free. Regaining the trust of her father that she was a changed girl, so she could go out on the city on her own. This is when Cindy decided to start getting money for herself. For starters, she considered getting a job, but it was hard to find work for a young Metahuman with a record. Working at her father's club was the best option, she cleaned up the club (Which was hell). She managed to convince Lihua Vuhong (With the help of Meifeng, who really wanted to see Cindy get redeemed) to be the babysitter for Lijuan (Last babysitter was eaten by Fiends) for the summer while she was at work.
However, another idea came to mind after she saw a homeless firebender; become a street performer, using her power to pull off incredible tricks, and make glass constructs for people (For some cash of course). Cindy donned a costume that she made up out of scraps of clothing in order to conceal her identity (So that the Pure or the Hands of Science don't come after her). She did it for some scraps of cash, but eventually came to love it.
... Though, running from NEST Agents wasn't fun.

Abilities
Power Class:
Elemental
Power:Elemental-Type: Mode Glass.
Glass-Generation.
Cindy's foremost ability is the ability to grow glass off her body like a crystal. This is mainly to supplement her ability to manipulate glass. She can grow an infinite amount of glass, it is only limited by her stamina. The glass she creates has a dark, emerald green, color (Like this color). She is capable of controlling how the glass grows, so she's capable of forming it into structures. Such as wrapping it around herself to create an armor. She can also create weapons, shields, and the sorts. Using her ability to move glass, she can shoot the shards she creates at high speeds. Usually a single shot, though, she can create a shotgun-style blast, or shoot out a machine gun barrage of glass. The ultimate feat she has done by creating glass is creating a thick "cocoon" out of glass that has protected her from most forms of attack. A trick she has figured out is that she's capable of producing a glass "seed". Which is an orb of glass that she can throw, and upon contact with the ground, it will turn into a structure of her choice. Like a grenade. Cindy can also turn sand into glass, if there's any around.
Glass-Manipulation.
Cindy has the elemental ability to control glass. I'm going to start off with the manipulation aspect of her power. For starters, Cindy can telekinetically control all glass (Regular, volcanic, plexi, etc) far as the eye can see and fiddle with it a bit. She can shape glass by using a method that is subconsciously changing it's temperature to convert it into a liquid-state, and quickly cool it down to harden it. Alternatively, she can simply put glass together the usual way. Hell, she can make any glass construct long as she has enough material for it. Cindy can also alter properties of glass to some extent. She can change the color, flexibility, hardness, and compact glass together to increase the density. Glass is a fairly hard material (But brittle), and it's fairly commonplace, so it's a pretty strong element to manipulate. It's also possible for her to achieve a level of pseudo-flight by standing on top of a pane of glass, and flying around by moving it.
Limits:
Whenever Cindy creates glass, she expends a bit of stamina. Which will begin to wear down on her. Which is why she's unable to create structures. Cindy's range of glass manipulation has a range of ten-meters (For quick reference, that's like 32 feet). There's a limit to how much glass she can manipulate at a time, too. She can manipulate a lot of glass, but not enough to create a building-sized structure made out of glass. Cindy is in no way immune to glass. She could easily accidentally cut herself.
Weaknesses/Drawbacks:
Glass is a brittle element. While it's technically harder than steel, there's only so much it can take before cracking, and shattering. Someone could pull out a bat, or a machine gun and destroy her constructs. Someone with super strength can easily punch through her constructs. Glass gets softer under heats, easier to break. Cindy can't really control malleable glass that well. It's melting point is high, but it can melt under a high enough heat. If it by chance melts, then Cindy will lose the ability to accurately control and shape it (She could sling around hot glass). Cindy requires concentration when she uses her power. If she loses it, then all current usages of her power will be cancelled. Cindy can turn into glass. Why that's down in the weakness section, I'll explain. Whenever Cindy uses her power, she may accidentally turn a part of herself into glass, and lose function in that part. The bigger the use, the more of her body may turn into glass. She has to focus a little bit to make her body revert back into flesh, but it could leave her quite vulnerable. If someone were to break the glass, it would appear in her human form as a wound. Either a bleeding cut, or a missing piece of her flesh, which can and will get infected quite easily. It's possible for her to lose a limb, if it were to convert entirely into glass. If she were to go overboard, she could potentially turn her entire body into glass and die a quick death. On the brightside, she'll be a bitchin' statue.
Other:
Cindy owns a white Honda 2007 Metropolitan Scooter. Which comes in handy when she needs to get around the city. Cindy's father, Jackson, owns a club in Knightdale Rows known as the Candy Club. It's a bar that was styled after The Carousel Bar in Las Vegas, it has dim red lighting that gives it a moody look while people preform on the stage. It's a somewhat successful club. Because of her past actions, Cindy is currently on NEST's watchlist.
