You wake up in an unfamiliar world, without any memories whatsoever. Where you came from, let alone where you're headed, you have no idea, yet all you can do is set forth and walk onward. A mysterious voice calls out to you, guiding you along your path: "This country is the land of Palamitia, a place bereft of any hope. Its people wander in melancholy, their hearts untouched by the Light of Hope."
PREMISE
You have seen the various superhero-based or -inspired sandbox roleplays in the Advanced board; you have seen how highly intriguing (not to mention, pretty successful) these games have thrived, attracting the attention of great players, comic fans and curious casual readers alike, transporting you into the Marvel and/or DC world beyond what you know in the canon universe. And then, a random thought of, "If this is possible for American superhero comics, why not a JRPG with lore just as extensive?" gave birth to this rather insane roleplay idea that I present you here, an unique opportunity to build a fantasy world as exhilarating as the comics fandom.
I welcome you to Enigma Final Fantasy, a sandbox roleplay (a.k.a. interactive multi-author/collaborative writing) based on Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise.
In here, you can take any FF character and re-imagine them in a way you can explore further than their established backstory, weaving an original narrative and build your own arcs, reshaping their future into anything you can possibly think of. No events in the original series are considered canon in this game; the only cage is perhaps your own creative mind. Love Zack but distraught at his inevitable death each time you played Crisis Core to the end? Revive him. Dissatisfied with how you're being trolled at Tidus and Yuna's ending in X-2? Rewrite it. Feel that Lightning deserved more than just being a pretty ice queen? Anything is possible - no one is off-limits here (well, almost): as long as they have appeared canonically in any of the existing game titles released up till the day this roleplay is born, they're free for refurbishment. The FINAL FANTASY world is yours to mold.
Of course, unlike the Marvel and DC universe, the world of Final Fantasy expands beyond the planet we know and live in - into a mystical realm that is only limited by our own imagination. Hey, but wouldn't that be too vague, too broad for us to handle? I agree - and thus my job as a GM, together with the assistance of the Co-GMs, is to guide you through the uncharted waters of the seemingly endless horizon to the best of our ability by setting up events that encourage interactions and crossover arcs, at the same time giving you the room to expand and craft the FF world you desire.

(Please note that this is only a draft and may be subjected to further changes.)You wake up to find yourself in a strange universe called "Celestia" - some say it's a parallel dimension in the middle of infinity, others say it's a dream within a dream. You have no idea how you got here, or who brought you here... As you try to remember, you realize that you have no recollection of your past, and you do not have the means to return to where you're from.
Guided by a mysterious entity who called itself "The Voice", you will journey through this foreign place to piece back your old memories, at the same time meeting people and creatures alike along the way, creating new memories. Even if you manage to reclaim your past, you can no longer go back who you once were, only to keep moving forward - maybe you might find a way out of this trance-like loop, or you just want to stay in here for eternity. The choice is yours.
However, you will soon find out the purpose why you are brought to this faraway land beyond the realm of your reality, stripped of your old self, trapped in a cycle of events that would force you to question everything you know: what are you fighting for - to protect, or merely to survive? What does it mean to be a hero?

- Co-GMs slots are full, so this interest thread is official. It's happening! Players are now welcome to express your interest.
- I'm currently still working out the kinks - and I'll be fine-tuning the details with my lovely Co-GMs - but I just thought why not put this out first to see how many more are interested in my crazy idea. (This little project is drafted during the period of time I was stuck at home due to the haze.)
- High-casual to advanced, shan't elaborate. If I have to...then I'm sorry, I'm afraid you're not suitable to join in this RP.
- This RP is centered around canon characters. (If you have seen those Marvel/DC sandbox RPs, you should understand where I'm coming from.) Feel free to start researching, brainstorming and drafting the things you wish to work on for this RP, so that you're prepared to submit your application and begin when the OOC is ready.
- I hate to disappoint those enthusiastic peeps, but I'm not going to employ reservation or claiming systems. All playable canon characters are open for grabs to all players equally and fairly. The GMs will make the final call as to who will get the role if any competition arises. (If you're the sole applicant after the window period has expired, yes the character is all yours.)
- This game is not catered to speed-posters; real life should take priority over a shared hobby. Due to the nature of this RP (emphasis is on expandable world-building + deep plot and character development), a minimum of one post per month should be relatively stress-free to handle.
- For those who are curious, the plot idea is inspired from fusing Dissidia with KH: Chain of Memories. (I already said I'm crazy.)
- Aaaaaand... In case anyone's wondering, crossover with Kingdom Hearts is not going to happen. Don't bother asking why.
Won't go into details and no need to show me any character sheets yet - just want to know how many are willing to join in this epic fantasy omniverse adventure with moi.
