Good news, everyone!
We have enough players to start. The Interest Check is here. You'll find more details there, as well as the simple character sheets.
In this thread, I'll lay out the rules. They won't be that strict, you'll still have a lot of RP time.
Some Rules:
1. Try to play nice with each other. You're a team here, trying to survive. Trying. If you read the origin of the game, you'll see that there's supposed to be only one survivor. I'm still considering that, but basically my ideas of ending the RP will be for a total party kill, or that one survivor, or killing the big bad.
2. As always, GM word is law. I'm not gonna be a douche to you guys as GM, but we'll have to make sensible decisions IC and OOC.
3. If you'll be away, tell us. We'll probably set your character to autopilot then.
4. Try to separate Player Knowledge from Character Knowledge.
5. Our goal is to have fun, so if you're not having fun, say something OOC and we'll try to fix whatever issue it is.
I'm terrible at writing rules. I'll update this as I realize what needs to be ruled.
For interested applicants:
I guess you can join, but we'll have to weave in your character with the story. I expect this to be fast paced midgame, so short of a deus ex machina, I don't know how we'll insert your character in.
For the dead characters:
I dunno, if you want to continue playing until the big bad is dead, we can insert your new character. You'll have to rp a different character and not the dead one though. Unless we had necromancy in this RP.
Now for the actual system we'll have. I'm still unclear about this, but here goes:
1. You are free to RP among yourselves as long as it's not COMBAT MODE. If it's combat mode, you will have to take turns posting and wait for my reply to update the battle.
2. You are free to RP among yourselves except when you're moving to a new location. I will have to describe the surroundings to you then.
3. You are free to add anything except anything giving you gamebreaking/blatant advantages (For example, making it so that you pick up a loaded gun off the ground, when I didn't place it there). Otherwise, go crazy! If you want to create and RP with an NPC (and assume his responses), go ahead, but try to assume as little as possible about the surroundings.
4. Don't change or assume anything from what I wrote. For example, if I made an NPC talk to you and you decide to shoot him, don't assume that he can't dodge or shoot back. Or, if I put a closed bag on the ground, don't RP that "I open it and find a brazillion dollars"
5. You can ask me OOC about the surroundings. For example, if I described a room and you wanted to ask something about it, you can.
6. To make it clear when it's free rp time, IC I will add to my post the tag [FREE] and anything below that, you can RP freely among yourselves without me having to intervene, except when you interact with my npc, you attempt to change locations, you discover something random, or you attempt something that has a chance of failing.
7. At any point in [FREE], I will post the tag [LOCKED], usually when you do something that triggers danger. When that tag is active, you each react to what I post. You post one each, and wait for my response. This will probably happen in combat, but I'm still trying to figure out how things will go anyway.
8. As long as the [FREE] tag is active, you can RP/post. BUT, the moment you attempt to move to a different location, you will have to freeze and wait for me to describe what you see. This will be in effect even if you're alone or with the group.
9. As for the different areas / different times, in the event that you get separated, let's try to rp so that your characters' actions will be in the same time as the others. For example, one is separated from the others and he attempts to sleep. He wouldn't be posting what he does when he wakes up when not enough time has passed for the others.
TL;DR : [FREE] post as much as you want. [LOCKED] One post each, then wait for my response.
Wow, this is hard. If you guys have any ideas how to improve this, please do tell. I'll be updating this as we go along.
