Hello everyone! I have this rough idea for a medieval fantasy adventure. The overall mood of the story will be dark, with the players struggling to face difficult dungeons, monstrous creatures of other-worldly nature, and moral/ethical issues that will impact the narrative. Think close to Dark Souls if you've ever played that, but not using its mechanics or lore.
I imagine the player party being about 3-4 people, each of which being some kind of knight or magician on a unified quest that I will create for the OOC. The melee combat will be focused on realistic aspects from cumbersome yet sturdy armor limiting mobility to specific wounds resulting in appropriate consequences. Basically, there won't really be HP as much as there will be convincing portrayal of your character's condition. For example, if you just had your arm broken you won't necessarily be unable to fight as long as you can wield your weapon in one hand, etc. Magic will be more straightforward and simple, with such spells as healing light/severe wounds, firing energy from a wand, or manipulating the forces of nature to an extent. There can be others if you want to suggest any, I'm pretty lenient about it so as long as it can be balanced I'll allow it.
The quest the travelers embark on could be any number of things and I'm willing to create something that caters to the type of adventure you guys want, so throw some ideas this way and I can add all of the details and maybe combine a few ideas.
