Name: Red
Age: 27
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Personality: Red's quite a quiet gal ever since she got her voice stolen away. Even after she recovered it, talking hasn't been her thing all that much anymore. If you can look past that, she is a pretty gentle soul most of the time. While she is very kind to those that are deserving, she kind of prefers the lonely road as that is all she knows at this point. Sadly, she seems to lack a sense of humor as the poor voice in her sword can attest to. As such, she is pretty serious and motivated to accomplish what she sets her mind, too.
Bio: Red isn't really sure what she wants anymore. She keeps thinking she wants to go back to the way things were before the Process stole her voice. Back when she was a talented singer and when the voice in her sword still had a body... A human body. However the more she wanders through the Multiverse, the less she isn't sure if she wants to go back. But she made a promise to that ever present voice in the Transistor that she had to change things to go back in time. To fix the wrongs done to the both of them. So that's what she is prepared to do, ready to face anything ahead of her.
Abilities:
Transistor is Red's sword and you could probably also say what's left of her fiance as his soul is trapped within the electrical components of the Transistor. Due to this odd occurrence, the Transistor has been uniquely gifted with a voice and an adapted AI of sorts. It is uniquely connected with its user to provide each other with a symbiosis. The basics of the Transistor are as follows:
Functions() are mods to the Transistor that allow it and its user, in this case Red, to perform unique actions and well as provide passive benefits to the wielder.
Usage of Functions costs the sword energy and while it can regenerate energy, it cannot regenerate fast enough to compensate for expensive or rapid use of different Functions. There are exceptions and anything noted with a Uninhibited tag does not expel enough energy to cost the Transistor anything more than it regenerates, in other words, it'll never gain or lose energy using these Functions.
There is an advantage to using expensive or rapid use of Functions, however, as each use provides a rebate of energy that goes towards Supercharging the Transistor. Once enough energy is stored, the user can utilize the Supercharge for a special ability.
In the unfortunate event that the user or the Transistor receives significant enough damage, a Function may become Defunct. A Defunct Function will not be able to be used and all passive benefits no longer apply. Defuncting is nearly entirely random (Random Number Generator) with the noted exception of one Function which will always be the last to be lost. Restoration of a Defunct Function can only be done by powering off the Transistor and is only advisable outside of battle as the process can be lengthy.
- Crash() A Function that makes the Transistor feel weightless to Red and only Red, making attacks with the sword appear effortless. This Function also provides a Safeguard to protect its user from many serious injury. Defunct results in complete vulnerability for both its user and the Transistor. This Function is Uninhibited. This Function is always last to become Defunct.
- Breach() A Function which allows the Transistor to fire an energy bolt with the capacity to threaten, even pierce, armor and shields. This Function also provides accelerated movement and reactions from its user. Defunct results in drastically slower movements.
- Spark() A Function that allows Transistor to shoot several fast, unstable shells that explode with a fragmentation blast.
- Jaunt() A Function that allows theTransistor to teleport its user to a nearby location. This Function also provides a regenerative assistance to its user to recover wounds faster. Defunct results in loss of regenerative qualities. Supercharge allows for a more rapid recover of wounds.
- Bounce() A Function that allows the Transistor to fire an electrical discharge that will ricochet in the environment, emitting an electrical shock to anything it touches. This Function also provides a deflecting shield capable of limiting damage taken. Defunct results in loss of deflecting shield. Supercharged results in magnified shield intensity.
- Load() A Function that allows the Transistor to form a volatile Packet. Striking the Packet with energy (attack or Function) from the Transistor will result in the Packet producing a large blast.
- Help() A Function that allows the Transistor to form a Friend to assist the user in combat. This Function also provides the user to achieve a Supercharged state. Defunct results in loss of any Supercharged state and all progress towards achieving one.
- Mask() A Function that allows the Transistor to conceal the user's physical self and amplify the power of their next attack, motion, or Function. Note: This Function conceals the user from unassisted vision only. Note: Movement outside of autonomous actions will break concealment.
- Ping() A Function that allows the Transistor to fire a rapid burst of kinetic bolts in an inaccurate cone of fire. This Function also provides a reduction in energy toll to all other Functions. Defunct of this Function results in full energy toll of other Functions. This Function is uninhibited.
- Cull() A Function that allows the Transistor to send out a shock wave of kinetic energy upon impact with the ground. The wave strikes targets upward with tremendous force.
- Void() A Function that allows the Transistor to project a storm sphere, surrounding the user, and violently electrocuting targets within its domain. This Function also provides a boost in power to all other Functions. Defunct results in loss of damage output in all other Functions. Supercharged results in Transistor triggering all Functions with increased damage output.
