@Melonhead vs. @GreivousKhan

The Gates of the Abandoned-

Start: 10/16/2015
End: 11/20/2015
First Post: Melonhead

A mystical place for the Dreamers, The Gates of the Abandoned is where Ghoukas, the Lord of Nightmares is imprisoned. The contestants find themselves roughly 200 feet apart on a harsh desert world. The air is thin, as thin as the air near the summit of Mt. Everest, meaning that there is roughly half to 1/3 the normal oxygen the characters may be used too. (For this match the oxygen restriction is removed at the request of the fighters) The wind whips through the battleground every six posts and kicks up a harsh dust cloud limiting visibility to three feet for one post. The gravity is normal for the Xindhi/Dreamers meaning it twice earth’s gravity doubling the contestant’s weight.

Each contestant is equipped with a Dream Fragment. This can only be used one time and lasts for a total of four posts. This Fragment allows the contestant to alter the landscape in any way they wish for four posts total. The transformation happens when the user describes the new battleground.

The Winner can claim a prize offered for the Tournament, and they receive the Key of the Oubliette which they can use to free the Lord of Nightmares. Otherwise, they can keep the key and use it for further storyline purposes.

The contestants start 200 feet apart with the large gate between them.

@Rilla Rank this yo!

I'm assuming the four posts have to go by before the other person can change the terrain? Otherwise it's sort of pointless.

This place oddly gives Taby some unneeded handicaps.

He has no inherent advantage.

Oh and I failed to mention, I will be making flavor text posts in the IC.

Well, both our characters have a relatively human physiology which requires oxygen to work to full capacity. In the low-oxygen environment both of us would be inconvenienced, but his character has a gas mask to work around it. So in the strictest scientific sense he has a clear advantage because of the environment.

How quickly does the environment change and how extreme can the changes be? Are there any limitations? For example, is there anything really stopping me dropping Khan down a mile deep hole in the ground?

Also is there a range limit to this landscape change for how far away you can be to activate it? Or how large the landscape shift can be.

It says in the description the change occurs when you describe the new surroundings. No range limit since you are dealing with a dream fragment. You can create a mile deep hole but you need to actively push him for him to fall or he will merely hover.

Just by reading Skally's reply here, I've come up with ways for both of them to win(without reading their sheets, so they may not work).

Can the fragments create anything?

I think that Melon's complaints are due to him forgetting that you don't even need to have the upper hand in battle in order to score well and win the tournament itself. If Tablurath remains dominant throughout the battle only by virtue of his powers being a hard counter to Metz's, then i think Skallagrim will have enough insight to notice that and adjust for it when he grades you.

Just do your best to kick Khan's ass; the rest doesn't make a bit of difference. :P

Exactly!

That's how I won my last match. :K

Also Melon will complain regardless.

The scoring is irrelevant if you die. My complaint is more geared towards the fact that the environment clearly favours one character with a completely unnecessary debuff to the other. Is it really necessary for the air to be thin and the gravity to be so intense, two effects which only encumber my character?
