As it was previously in the other RP you missed certain points for Yllendthyr. For example our friendship with Avalia and our overall diplomatic approach. Albeit I can also list other negatives. For example the absurd military power in the hands of individual nobles which they can even use as mercenaries in foreign worlds during peacetimes. Though other notions like being an appartheid state or mixing religion with politics are less of a concern if any. Yllebdthyr offering the most religious freedom next to the truly liberal states is certainly something. Them being a middle road between democracy and monarchy can be also quite a thing at times.

I like that method of measuring relations. I think I'll do it myself.
Yeah, I think I will be copying that too (And replace my current relations list)
@Willy Vereb Hmmmm, it might make the Sacred Empire trying to ally the Heavenly Empire kinda odd then, considering you are an ally of my nations Archenemy and more leaning towards the same policies as my enemies (Though less severely). I guess I can use realpolitik as an excuse (My nation is ignoring our conflicting cultures/politics in attempt to draw the Heavenly Empire away from Avalia and into a pro-Imperial third-party bloc)
Oh @Isotope, if you don't mind, maybe during the edits, I'd like to request to place two colonies for myself. I'd like to claim that gap between the PRK's Puppet State and the Ceresian Coastal colonies, like a little line. Second colony I'd like a bit of land along the coast of Oured Bay.
Scratch that. Just the first, but moderately sized :)
Avalia: Republic: -- Secular state: -- Anti-traditionalism/dangerous political ideology: -- Atheistic: ---- Intolerance of Abyssiasism: - Religious Antithesis: ------ No diplomatic relations or communication: -- Historical enmity: -- Severe culture clash (everything, entire society, all values): ---- Xenophobic: - Mutual racism: - Bipartisan enemy: -- Proxy war: -- No interference in Ceresian Sea ++ Female leader: +
Net opinion:Absolute antithesis & evil incarnate (-28) What this means: Avalia is Ceresia’s ultimate arch-nemesis and has been since its creation. It acts as a unifying force of bipartisan agreement for the Ceresian people and competing political factions who all agree that Avalia is Ceresia’s ultimate enemy. Hatred permeates across society from the ruling to working castes and tourism and business between the two people is virtually non-existent. In contemporary Abyssiasism, Avalia is considered the servant of the Sky God (Despite their own atheism) and will become the evil god’s army in the final apocalyptic battle. Ceresia’s right-wing ultra-conservative/reactionary/fascist opposition faction regularly rally behind the warcry of “Avalia must be destroyed!", though this is considered socially acceptable. Calls for the extermination of Valkyerian people are also common, though this is considered "too far" for the majority of the populace and the current ruling government, which is attempting to distance itself from racial purist and genocidal rhetoric of its opposition faction.
Net opinion:Unwitting pawn of evil and realpolitik enemy(+3) What this means: Ceresia has no personal beef against Fuso and sees it as a righteous nation misled by the promise of security from the great antithesis. Ceresia backs Izuno purely because Fuso is backed by Avalia, and if this was not the case Ceresia would not even be involved in the civil war and may have even attempted diplomatic relations.

Net opinion:Righteous nation and realpolitik ally(+8) What this means: An ally made due to the alliance between Fuso and Avalia, previously having little relations, Ceresia suddenly found itself a close military ally in Izuno's civil war. Overall, Ceresians don't really see that much difference between Fuso and Izuno except the fact that one is backed by the forces of evil, therefore the other must be righteous by default. This distinction is relatively important though, since Ceresian people take their apocalyptic cosmic battles seriously.

Net opinion:On the fence(0) What this means: Moravia and Ceresia have had little relations historically and despite both being great powers with a common enemy in Avalia, Ceresia has no interest in joining the “fascist bloc” currently. This hesitation to join up is due to a multiple of issues ranging from the current Ceresian governments opposition factions becoming increasing fascist and Pro-Moravia, the Moravian gnomish communities support of Mostian resistance groups as well as Moravia’s alignment with Verendes.
PRK: Socialist state: -- Secular state: -- Atheist Leader: -- Anti-traditionalism/dangerous political ideology: -- Aligned to Avalia: ---- Opposed to Verendes: ++ Official policy of neutrality: + Female leader: + Influence of Kaytalan exiles: - Naval threat: - PRK's olive branch: ++++
Net opinion:An inconvenient, unwanted but probably inevitable enemy(-6) What this means: The PRK is seen overall as an ideological enemy however politically Ceresia has no interest in fighting them, mostly due to its official neutrality in the Moravian-Kataylan conflict and continued distrust of the Verendes Kingdom. The PRK's relationship with Avalia and anti-religious leaning ensures that no alliance will ever be made, unless something very drastic occurs which enables some kind of "Unholy Alliance".
Net opinion:Possible ally, otherwise neutrality(+4) What this means: Ceresia's views Ventium as a neutral and uninvolved in the two primary political blocs. Due to Ventium being a monarchy and colonial power, Ceresia is willing to overlook its liberalistic social policies and conflicting morality much like it does Yllendthyr in the name of realpolitik. Its drive to get Ventium on its side is based more around its desire to keep it out of the other two blocs, as the alternative will likely mean a war on the new continent between the colonial powers.

Net opinion:Historical archenemies with gradual thaw(-7) What this means: Verendes and Ceresia are historical enemies for millennia, the maritime trader city-states constantly fighting with the underwater empire that would terrorize them. Following the Maritime War 130 years ago, this suddenly changed with Ceresia's defeat to the Verendes Kingdom and its old navy crushed by Verendes' modern(for then) one. For 75 after Ceresia would be in Verendes' sphere of influence and under its economic hegemony. Verendes enforced numerous treaties on Ceresia which they have not forgotten. Today, Ceresia has broken free of Verendes rule and surpassed it in numerous area's, particularly its navy. While historical hatred and distrust remain, a thaw may occur due to increasing trade relations (that does not involve crippling and expolitive monopolies) and cultural exchange through Destunopolos (the city ceded to Verendes after the Maritime War). The Neutral Corridor Treaty, which enforces corridors where Verendes may pass through Ceresian waters without authorization is the largest barrier to normalization of relations.

Net opinion:Patron of the New Ministry and modernization of Ceresia(+10) What this means: Vinculi has since become the Sacred Empires greatest economic ally due to its corporations and foreign advisers intense interest in modernizing and industrializing the Ceresian Empire. The sheer importance of the undertaking of the industrialization and modernization project has made Vinculi an invaluable asset to the Empire, and this is acknowledged by the empires people who treat Vinculi foreigners and tourists with respect, in comparison to Verenden counterparts. The reactionary and fascist opposition despise Vinculi however and many hold fears that Vinculi will be a repeat of Verendes.

Net opinion:Strategic alliance target, potential greatest ally or enemy(+8) What this means: The Heavenly Empire is a mostly neutral Great Power with a similar political situation as the Sacred Empire; both being colonial powers on the fence and not particularly committed to either fascism or communism's victory. Ceresia's goal is to join or form a "Third party" faction independent from the two existing blocs with the goal of defending its naval and colonial interests beyond the old continents politics. Yllendthyr is the best choice for this partnership also because of its potential economic relations. The greatest obstacle to any form of alliance is Yllendthyrs cordial relationship with Ceresia's ultimate archenemy, Avalia. So long as Yllendthyr seeks positive relations with Avalia, no true alliance can be formed. The Ceresian government seeks to isolate Avalia, as it worries that should Avalia succeed in allying Yllendthyr, it will force Ceresia to join the Fascist bloc instead.
Zenovia: Constitutional monarchy: ++ Heathen religion: - Culture clash (Social policies, personal liberties, morality): - Official policy of neutrality: + Neither aligned with Moravia or PRK: ++ Potential future ally: +
Net opinion:Neutrality with potential for alliance under certain circumstances(+4) What this means: Ceresia doesn't care all that much about Zenovia. It has no real relations with the country. Zenovia is also unaffiliaited with the fascists or communists however at the moment Ceresia is not seekign any form of cooperation with them. This may change in the future depending on the situation.
Yeah, I think I will be copying that too (And replace my current relations list)

Technically I am already forming a third political block with some of Vinculi, Setra and whoever isn't swayed by either the idea of communism or fascism. My relation to Avalia are positive because we support their ideals of freedom plus their Kavuria and overall aviation experiences are important among others. You could say there's a technological cooperation between the two nations. This is also partially to influence Avalia to not align itself with PRK's block. That being said Yllendthyr is aware that if the situation between Avalia and the Sacred Empire gets hot they'd need to choose between the two. Until then they enjoy the relations with both and the 3 tiny islands owned nearby are used to contact both you and Avalia.
I really want to apologize to you guys, you've all been so productive and I'm glad that you have been, I just want to say sorry about my inactivity recently, school's been a bitch. But I'm coming across some free time soon so u might try and post, otherwise I'll have to copy paste some stuff over from the last RP.
- Galhonore Commonwealth: In personal union with the second largest elven country since the last few centuries, Galhonore is almost like a mirror image of Yllendthyr. Cooperations run deep between the two nations and sharing their industrial discoveries had mutual benefits. That being said Galhonore is still technically a different country with its own laws, political structure and even an army called the Thandli. If anything Galhonore should be considered a very close ally rather than part of Yllendthr.
- Kingdom of Setra: The fairy lands and former colony of Yllendthyr. Setra is closely aligned with Yllendthyr and almost economically dependent on it. The have a rare presence in Yllenthyr's parliament and all fairies are considered Setran citizens regardless of their home.
- Kingdom of Veluca: While technically llendthyr has no claim over Veluca or any other countries of Vinculi, for some time now their ruling dynasty has elven blood in them. This makes the Velucan King is also known as Hir Blanchi en'Veluca a noble of Yllendthyr. As such the Velucan Kingdom has subtle relations with Yllendthyr and the king must pay taxes like any noble would. On the other hand the elven roots of the roalty are kept as a tightly guarded secret.
Atheist: -- Disrespect to Traditions --- Xenophobia -- Protective of Their Culture: ++ Free Political Environment ++ Diplomatically Active ++ Technological Cooperation ++ Trade Relations ++ Possible Shared Ancestry ++++ (as fellow bird descendant humanoids) Proxy War -- (may be polarized to take PRK's side in a future war) Relations with PRK --
Overall: Strained Partnership (+3) Yllendthyr values its partnership with Avalia but as of late there are several sources which may strain this relationship in the future. Yllendthyr wishes to keep Avalia safe from either the sway of the PRK's communism or Moravia's fascist views. In the public eye Avalians are sometimes viewed as their distant brethen which for the haughty elves means a lot.
Historical Relations ++ Monarchic ++ Conservative +++ Diplomatic Activity + Trade Partners +++ Technological Exchange ++ (mechanical expertise in return for Ceresia's underwater/sea knowledge) Strategic Importance ++++ (they are far better as allies than turning the entire Ceresian Sea on themselves) Conflicting Religious Views -- Proxy War -- (may be polarized to take Moravia's side in a future war) Naval Rivalry - Racial Differences --- (both race considers the other inferior even if these are less prohibitive in politics nowadays) Too Many Mysteries: ---- (nobody saw the deeper realms of Ceresia)
Overall: Potential Ally (+5) Yllendthyr plants friendly relations with Ceresia ever since their restoration into an empire. hundreds of years ago the Yllenthyrean Emperor even visited Aepesopolis during the old Ceresian Empire's rule. Albeit Ceresians may only treat this as a myth while for Yllendthyr it only took place two generations ago.
Politically Compatible +++ (both the democratic or authocratic portions in their own ways) Draconic Relations ++ (elves respect dragons for their age and majesty, also for being in the same cult of alchemy) Technological/Industrial Cooperation ++++ (Laslö makes a considerable portion of Yllendthyr's goods, for example) Trade relations +++ Distrust to both PRK and Moravia ++ (thus they are unlikely to join with either in war) Elven relations + (as explained for Veluca) Tolerance of Tourists + (and elves love to travel) Historical Enemies -- (in the past Vinculi nations raided/invaded Yllendthyr and in reverse) Chaotic Internal Politics --- (this is an understatement) Trade Rivals -
Overall: Tightly Knit Partnership (+10) In spite of past grievances Yllendthyr and Vinculi are now allies in all but the name. They didn't sign any military pact but their economical and industrial connections are massive.
Fascist -- (while fascist ideas are slightly closer to Yllendthyr's politics, its existence threatens all monarchies) Notoriety of Cruel Treatment --- (the yet unconfirmed stories of political executions and labor camps can hurt anyone's image who aligns with them) Racism - (slight issue because elves aren't among Moravia's "acceptable targets") Military Expansionist - (Yllendthr is not worried about Moravia invading them, they fear their trade income) Proxy War -- (aligning with Moravia has the risk of getting swept into war) Opposed to Avalia: -- Strategic Importance ++ (Moravia is the most powerful nation known, having it as an enemy may be unwise) Autocratic ++ (Moravia has an efficient government) Conservative ++ Technological/Industrial Powerhouse ++ (the benefits of establishing relations with Moravia are there) Religious + technical Religious Freedom +
Overall: Distant (-1) Yllendthyr kept their distance from Moravia for long and overall they have mixed feelings about aligning with them. On the other hand they certainly don't mind straight business-like partnership, even if it's temporary.
Communist --- (putting power in the hands of the unrefined proletariat is more dangerous than fascism) Anti-Imperialist -- Anti-Traditionalist --- Proxy War -- (aligning with them may also bring yllendthyr into a bigger war in the future) Strained Relations with Vinculi -- Allied with Avalia ++ Diplomatic + Market Socialist ++ Strategic Importance + Technological Importance ++ Historical Relations + (Yllendthyr knows the royal family and thus they still have some relations with Velikaya)
Overall: Cooling Off (-3) Ever since 10 years ago the relationship with Katabalynsk are becoming colder. Their anti-aristocratic, anti-imperialist views are a source of threat albeit not all hope is lost to restore these strained relations. in case of a major war PRK could be even an ally of necessity.
I'll detail the others once I get more time and perhaps I know more about the other nations and their stance regarding Yllendthyr.
It is, albeit the main continent is practically filled out. You may discuss it with players to give up some of their land to make space for you or just try making a nation in the other continents. Though it worths noting that in that case you'd be an ex-colony like Mexico, Canada or the USA. If you want possibly under a relatively minimal rule of the original owner. I say being ex-colony is equally fun and besides you could be even something like US if you want. Just talk things out with whoever colonized you and possibly include cultural/technological elements from that player's nation. So yeah, it may take a bit more effort to insert your nation but that's all. You're welcome.
Yes. We have plans for the two blank spots next to the red nation on the really crowded continent, but the island north of it still has some space as does the continent with all te colonies as Willy pointed out.
