I spent a short while making a flag and filling out a tiny bit of information for my sheet, and then posted it on the characters section. I'll edit and add more as time goes on of course, but I figured it'd be good to get information up there ASAP in case anybody is curious or needs to know things for their nation's history or something.

@Mihndar Your nation is accepted, put it in the chat section.

@ZB1996 Your nation is accepted, put it in the chat section.

@Gig Your nation is accepted, put it in the chat section.

@Cyclone Would have appreciated it if you had waited for me to tell you to put it up, but no biggy. Just get it done though, SKEPIC HAD TO EARN HIS PLACE!!! :3

Fascists take what they want :3

I figured that if anything in it doesn't get approved, I can just edit it over there. I was starting to get annoyed with having to leaf through two or three pages in the OOC looking for other peoples' sheets and didn't want to add to the confusion.

Maybe reduce the amount of planes you have? Pick your four or so favorites.

You think so? I mean I made them so that all have a specific role and fit into a timeline of aviation development in the nation. I suppose there are quite a few, but I don't have any airships like most nations do.

How about we make a deal? I was intending on having airships but since you don't have any, how about I don't give myself any either and limit myself to 4 plane types? Even the ground a bit? Deal?

Well, not any super air battleship.

Well, just because you don't have any airships doesn't mean you have to balance your nation. Setting up a nation for failure is also fun too. :D

That aside, I think your right though. Why is having different types of aircraft a bad thing?

That doesn't really matter if you have airships or not, Fuso has five (technically six) aircaft and no airships yet I'm still wondering if I should reduce them.

A good idea is to go deep, not wide, really flesh out and describe your units in general, I find it a lot more fun and satisfying than "this is a rifleman, he has a gun" or "this is a tank, its a metal box on wheels with a gun". Ironically, the latter is what most Fusans think what a tank is

Evening the ground? What? Why? If ya want airships, than have em. If ya want lot's of different types of planes, why not?

Fine then, no ground evening, @Isotope have your planes and I'll have my darling airships.

@ClocktowerEchos Mhm, description is best, I mean look at my infantry, they are pretty well described.

@Skepic, I agree but I don't think the number of types of plane is a balance point given making more types results in weakness rather than strength. Numbers and tooling and trained engineers and all that.

Verendes as it is would be able to put up a fight, but it would not realistically win a war against any of its neighbors. I could have a thousand types of planes and that would still be the case given they would be swarmed to extinction. This is an RP, not a game and I see no reason to even the ground. I am content with coming out on the bottom.

So why have them? Because they represent a narrative, starting with the TY-12 and culminating in the 'new secret weapon' TY-83. There is a sort of timeline there and all that.

As for description, I prefer doing that IC rather than giving people a huge stat sheet.

Then have that be IC and add new ones as the RP progress, keep the planned ones in a PM or CS dump.
I have a lot of things planned like new weapons and ships, but they're all for later which I don't have on my sheet.

I say do it on the NS so people don't have to go digging for the stuff. Its easier to red a stat sheet than going through X amount IC pages and a wall of IC text posts

This is a silly debate, so the TY-83 is gone for now.

Can we put this to rest now? I have five planes plus one flying bunch of wire and canvas.

I mean, I never had any problems with your planes to begin with. :/

But to me, I think your NS is fine!

@Voltus_VentusWhy having more types of aircraft a bad thing, even?
Neither it should effect balance nor it would be unrealistic. WW2 nations literally had several or dozens of active aircraft types even at the beginning of the war.
On the other hand I can't see why would somebody need to compensate for not having airships.
Bomber planes and airship bombers technically have the same role but with different approach.
You can easily have both, albeit due to it being more expensive airships are better to be safe from enemy fire thus bombers are perhaps better for the role.

And to firmly change the subject, we should compile a sort of rough world history, ancient common events and such.

Might make things easier.

I agree with @Isotope.

I had a number of questions, one of which is how exactly diplomatic ties will be at the start of the game. Since its socialist, and is probably the only one of its kind, I expect the PRK is isolated. As basically a nation of atheists who despise religion, I expect Avalia would have a similar problem. More irrelevantly, it is unfortunate that I ended up the only nation with bolt-action rifles. It seems my nation is even more backwards than I originally thought.

I'll have my character sheet, complete with a flag, up tomorrow.
