Here's my char. It's unfinished I feel and a bit all over the place... but here's hoping that it's at least on the right track.

Pet: None. To be exact besides cats Alexander finds a deep pathological desire to squeeze to death any other animal. Often times he has to catch himself before he starts trying to be nice to pets since his playful teasing will only escalate to a strange and rather vicious version.

Personality:

Alexander is a troubled young man who has put himself under great pressure to succeed for both his parents and to prove himself even to the world. Being driven since a young age to achieve this goal he was a shoe-in for House Good. He's not one to lie or cheat his fellow students though like any other person a white lie and the like is not a sin. But all his friends agree that he's a terrible liar. Being driven has meant that Alexander enjoys the company of others who also wish to prove themselves or are high-achievers.

He's got a big problem with being alone and tries to hide that anxiety behind a very warm and espansive personality though he often fins it tiring and will disappear to find himself a quiet place. He hates it when people snub him or dislike him and won't talk to him. His upbringing has left him with a negative attitude to Muggles and Muggleborn people though he doesn't have an issue talking or doing things with them, it's just that he feels uncomfortable after a while.

Biography:

Alexander or Alexi [A-Lex-ee], is the heir to the Von Haufenstaufen's, an ancient German house from Saxony. The Von Haufenstaufen's fled Germany as a result of the persecution of Grindelwald's followers after his defeat as the last remaining member and Alexi's father was a high ranking member of them. He fled to America and settled in Pennslyvania where he met Appoliona De Ariette and married her. They did not have children until very late and Alexi they are told is to be they're only one.

Alexi's father, Franz is a strict and authoritarian figure who owns a rather successful international magical delivery service which is well known for its quality services as a way to move things overseas or bring them into the country at a good price. This has eant that for much of Alexi's life he has been away and that he's been elevated to a god-like status by Alexi who wants t be like him. (This has led to his feelings about muggles who he feels are below magicals and should be taught better. This has leaked over to feelings on muggleborns though less strongly and more about them not respecting traditions).

Appolina, Alexi's mother is a rather vacuous woman who also has left Alexi often alone with a nurse while she shops and gossips with her friends. Yet Alexi loves his mum and she undoubtedly loves him, in fact his most prized possession is the little charms necklace she bought him that is meant to give him good luck (it's an area of effect happiness charm). His mother's penchant to leave him alone has meant he cherishes any time spent with her and any praise she gives him.

Alexi's desire to prove himself worthy of his father and win his mother's attention has borne a strong motivation and drive for him. Since very young he's often spent his time in the family library and since gaining his wand he also enjoys casting spells and learning how to make spells. He also enjoys flying since he's discovered he's very good at flying and even played as a chaser for two years before dropping out for his studies. But Alexi isn't just work and no play, he's a teenager and for those who are his friends he's a very boisterous, mischievous and a bit too touchy feely guy who enjoys company and will gladly lend an ear to listen to their troubles.

I was thinking that in this Roleplay specifically I like the real people pictures because it just fits better. I also don't care for anime pictures in roleplays as a rule because the are often just a bit too out there. I normally like high-quality art doesn't matter if it's western or eastern at that point really.

I decided to revamp the character. I felt that they were a bit one-dimensional so I tried to give some more flavor and depth to them. I also changed the last name as Crimmy was right in that it was inspired by the Hohenstaufen's. I decided to use Von Tronje as that is the family name of the Lord who apparently patronized the Nibelungen saga and I felt that was a good connection to German mythology. I also decided to make him not prejudiced since I couldn't use the excuse of him being the child of a Grindelwald supporter since that had happened too far back.

Alexander for the most part is like any other teenager and he always finds the time to have a laugh and while most who don't know him well would call him a polite but closed-off individual, to his friends and his class mates he's rather loud, outgoing and mischievous. All of this is the symptom of his lonely childhood and his desire ever since then to make and keep friends.

He also has an issue with being left alone, rooted in his mother and father’s treatment of him when younger. Often he will seek out others company to dispel the anxiety that arises when he finds himself alone. Yet, sometimes Alexander finds the constant company too much and he shall retreat to find a quiet place for himself in the dorms or the library.

For Alexander there’s nothing more precious than magic and he loves to spend time learning new magic though he finds it frustrating when he can’t figure out how to cast it.

Because Alexander’s mother is a well-known leading lady of American Magical society in their region. Alexander has often been dragged to various meetings and balls. While he finds them to be rather boring as they consist mainly of late-forties women gossiping, it has led to him having a strong appreciation and understanding for fashion and he enjoys dressing up whenever he can.

Unfortunately for Alexander he has an anger issue, this is the result of the time he spent mostly on his own when younger and the way that his parents expected him to remain silent and only speak when told too. Alexander as a result never learnt to express his emotions and often when confronted or hurt he’ll just bury the feelings and pretend to be fine. However, this is unhealthy and Alexander’s decision to respond in such a manner means that when he finally does express himself fully it is often a confused whirlwind of emotion.

This means that for much of Alexi’s childhood he was left on his own with the tutors and nurses to care for him. Yet this doesn’t mean his love for them is diminished, Alexi loves his mum and she undoubtedly loves him, in fact his most prized possession is the little charms necklace she bought him that is meant to give him good luck (it's an area of effect happiness charm).
