And that'll work.

I know you didn't want another euro-style commie in the game. So I was wracking my brain, trying to figure out a solution.

Then I remember Cuba was a thing. And Cuba is close enough to have....interests...in the region I imagine.

Plus, spicy hot pilot with a spanish accent.

...

Okay it mostly boiled down to the last point.

We already have a spanish speaker!

But a good ol fashioned piece of hot american apple pie might be a good bet.

Eh, I'm not really 'feeling' that sort of character-what's the point in drawing something up if lack of interest just ensures I end up neglecting it, you know?

This type of game, this tone, I always tend to go commie.

Was going to sort of base the guy off some of the fertile ground the Caribbean provides, in regards to ideology, but if that's already filled, I'm basically out of ideas.

Well, the reason I chose Cuba is because I felt I could get a good dynamic out of it-there's a song that sums up the contradictions of Cuba-and what it could still mean quite nicely:

youtube.com/watch?v=buOpTyivEGU

The....current state of the area of North America would take away alot of the income they get from tourism-scaring them away if nothing else, but it'd also provide a strange chance, to become a power, while the region is in chaos. A mixture of troubles and hope. Taking advantage of the chaos to try to carve out something bigger for themselves. Just spitballing of course, this could all be utterly off base.

Hm.

Anything been written about the state of the Caribbean in this setting?

...Then I may have a solution that gets some variety-French Caribbean (Trinidad and Tobago are...quite diverse) and lets me get my commie fix in. Perhaps a more active Cuba is extending it's reach in the Caribbean-funding revolutions/takeovers in other nations, resulting in a growing...

"Federated Communist Republics of the Caribbean" if you will. Could make for a good future/setting conflict, and fixes the issue we're having right now. I'll see if I can't find a fitting picture that suits the new direction, if this works out of course-previous pic looked too...experienced, you know?

Also works well with a pilot falling in with this outfit-considering how important planes and pilots are in this 'verse, it'd make sense for a new power to be "courting" skilled cadres of pilots, and embedding some of their own in with them in hopes of them picking up valuable skills and connections.

I absolutely love it. This is why I have you in my RPs sir.

I've already got into my head how i will work your guy into the story. He could be an ex military officer for the communist carribean republic and for some reason he's been left in Iceland (I'll leave that to you.) Then our sky-warriors find an abandoned air base to rest at (cause the group is low on fuel anyway) and they meet your hunky pilot there. And that can be how this continuation starts.

Ooooh. I know how he could be left behind-military campaign gone sour-had to beat a hasty retreat and he ended up being left behind in the scramble!

As for finding a base to hunker in, I think Jingo would be very helpful. He's flown back and forth over Iceland and the North Atlantic multiple times and would probably know of places to rest. His knowledge comes from his numerous trips to North Africa, doing jobs for the sultans and Khalifas of the Mediterranean.

If it involves climb out of his plane and leaping across 40,000 foot drops onto other planes to do an inflight repair then meat it on him. Otherwise make sure he has to do that.
