NAME:
Bláthnat Cassidy Balore (But if you call her anything other than Sugar, she will punch your dick in)

ALIAS:
Fairy-tale Queen

AGE:
17

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
Imaginary Friend.
Sugar was always the type that had an imagination. She created plenty of Imaginary Friends in her lifetime, dashing them all away as she got older. Little did she know, her Gift created another friend. Something is following Sugar. The manifestation of her Gift has created a psychic entity that follows Sugar around. She affectionately named it "Sir Reginald". This Entity follows all of Sugar's commands telepathically. It is invisible to all humans - Except for those with similar psychic abilities. They see a transparent, featureless, human male of a more muscular build, standing at least ten feet tall. He floats around Sugar, and he has the ability to travel long distances away from her. Sir Reginald is intangible - however, the correct term would be "Psycho-Tangible". While he can phase through walls and other solid objects, Sir-Reginald can selectively interacting with the world, using a form of telekinesis. So, if Sugar asks him to grab a phone from halfway across the room, he can float over there and grab it. If Sugar wants Sir Reginald to unlock a door, he can float to the other side of the room and flip the lock. Simple as that!

However, if Sir-Reginald interacts with a human being, he will become visible (Visible as his above description would entail). Now, what are the special things Reginald do? Reginald has a powerful form of telekinesis. He can move even the heaviest of all objects with sheer willpower. And do the basic things that you can do with telekinesis. Along with the advance tricks. He's incredibly powerful, capable of lifting ten tons telekinetically. Sir Reginald is fairly strong too. He can lift up fifteen tons, and punch a car in half. Finally, Sir Reginald communicates with Sugar using a telepathic link, whatever Sugar thinks, Sir Reginald can hear it. Which makes relaying orders surprisingly simple. Sir Reginald can also exert his mental will onto other people, reading their thoughts, and relaying Sugar's thoughts to them. His telepathic abilities are nowhere near as strong as his telekinetic. Sir-Reginald is also capable of guarding Sugar from other mental intrusions.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
While Reginald is a powerful entity of his own, he has a few drawbacks. Know all that fancy stuff like the telekinesis and the strength? It's mentally linked to Sugar, and they haven't quite synchronized yet. Reginald using his telekinesis causes Sugar strain and injury. Simply moving an object telekinetically will give her a brief headache, and say tossing a bus into the upper stratosphere would cause her some immense damage, and might kill her via ashing. Which is exactly why he sticks to the simple stuff, and remains dormant to conserve energy, and keep Sugar protected. However, as Sugar grows as a person, she can lessen this and go in sync with Sir Reginald. Eventually he'll be able to use his telekinesis and strength without harming Sugar. Reginald can be touched while visible, and, by that extent, damaged. While he's sturdier than a human being, he can be damaged, and can be destroyed. Once destroyed, he will retreat back into Sugar's brain until he's fully repaired. He cannot regenerate on his own either, he'll have to return to Sugar's mind to heal even slight damage. He cannot fight other Cerebral types as effectively as anyone else. Reginald can't use all of his abilities at once, he can't keep Sugar in her fantasy land while stopping a bus from flying at them. He has to do one thing at a time. His telekinesis only applies to solid/physical objects. In regards to human beings, there’s a few restrictions on his telekinesis. They don’t function as well on people as they do. He can’t telekinetically rip someone apart for example, but he can still move them around. But, the only thing is that people can resist his telekinetic influence on them.

Reginald has Sugar's best interests in mind, and thus, he thinks about her before himself. Instead of counterattacking, he will be more focused on protecting Sugar, even if it'll leave himself open. Say if she got into a fight with two guys (Who would try to beat up a little girl? You fucking heartless bastard); and while Reginald is throwing something at Mook A, Mook B throws a brick at Sugar; he'll drop everything to defend her, leaving himself open to be taken out by Mook A. It can be taken advantage of by a savvy opponent. Or he might just forgo the fight altogether and just get Sugar out of there. Reginald only fights if there's no choice, and only to defend Sugar, even then, he'd rather send a message than kill someone. Whenever Sugar falls asleep/unconscious, Reginald will go dormant until she wakes up. Another major weakness is that, while Sugar can give him orders, she doesn't have complete control over him. He does everything above, and in order to use that power she has to ask him first. Otherwise, he'll remain dormant and hover over Sugar. Say if a friend has been attacked by a monster, she'll have to ask him - of course she'll likely be too terrified to ask him, but yeah. However, he will act to protect Sugar, even if it goes against her wishes.

SAMPLE POST:
... I'll get around to this.

NOTES:
  • Sugar's lost her leg in an car accident that she got into when she was eight. Her prosthetic leg looks like this
  • Due to an early childhood dabbling with such skills, Sugar is exceptionally good at drawing and writing. It stems from her over-imaginative nature. She would go crazy if she went too long without drawing!
  • Sugar has an immense fear of automobiles, she simply won't get in one or she'll be triggered.
  • Making a pirate joke about her will certainly send her into a fit of Irish rage! Also mentioning her true name will piss her off.
  • Oh yeah, she's Irish.
  • Sugar keeps Sir-Reginald a secret. She tells everyone, save for the staff, that she's merely a telekinetic/telepath.

I did not use Peter Parker as a face claim. I did not.

My name is Andrew Hughes. For five years I was – Oh, not here? Okay. Gotcha.

Oh, I don’t know. Something to do with fire. Fireman? Nah. Pfft.

AGE:
Sixteen and proud.

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
Solar Manipulation: I can manipulate solar energy. Got an orange flame that burns at impossible temperatures and incinerates things at subatomic levels. I can use it to fly sometimes, too. I know. Awesome, right?
Hand to Hand Combat: Yeah, I box. Who even is this Batman guy, anyway?
Acrobatics: I can do flippy tricks.
Sass: Sass is an art, and I have all but mastered it. I can burn people in more ways than one.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
Control: It’s kinda hard to control my power. Gets annoying, really. I mean, having the power of a sun is all well and good, but knowing that overexertion = no more me (or other people) is more than a little daunting.
Humanity: I’m only human. Do the maths. Flames don’t do much good against a dude that can smash my ribs into tiny little pieces (assuming he’s fireproof).
Naivety: I’ve been told that I see too much good in people. That’s total baloney (bologna, whatever). One time when I was six, this guy cut in line at the Scooby-Doo ride in Movie World. He made me wait another five minutes in that hellhole. I can tell you now, he’s got no good in him. He’s just an asshole.

SAMPLE POST:
Like Hillan said: Screw the rules. Here’s an excerpt or two from Teen Titans: Divided We Fall.

I’ll be honest with you. When the door opened, I did not expect what I saw. I don’t know why, but I was sure it would open to reveal a pimply teen dressed in poorly made tights, like a nerd right outta Comic Con. I realise now that that’s an absolutely stupid thing to think, especially considering that these guys were next in line to become Justice Leaguers, but still. I was not expecting a uber-hot punk girl with guns to show up and make me sputter and die, much like that shitty car my parents bought me for my sixteenth birthday. Looking back on it, I can’t help but think, “What would Gabe have done?”

I’ll tell you what. He would’ve looked her up and down, stared her in the eyes, and threatened getting shot by saying, “Sorry. You’re not my type.” But goddamnit, I’m not Gabe, and I sure as hell don’t have a type.

So after she not-so subtly threatened to put a bullet in my brain, all I managed to say was, “Uh… hi.”

Fucking hormones.

Realising that that probably didn’t ensure my survival, I decided to rephrase, removing my helmet to reveal my amazing jawline, breathing deep. “Luke is my friend,” I explained, “I met him back when he was still in Gotham, going solo as Sandstorm. I was on holiday (it didn’t feel like one, though. Who the hell goes to Gotham for a holiday?), but we met as vigilantes, and teamed up for the two weeks I was there. We kept in touch afterwards. Every second day we’d send our statuses to each other. But I didn’t get a message yesterday. Or the two days beforehand. He’s gone missing. Something’s up. And with all this stuff going on with the VRA and San Fran, I don't think he's in hiding. Not by choice, anyway. It's not like him. Something's up."

I paused, tracked my eyes along the girl's figure, caught myself, thought, Damn you, hot people, and pressed on. "I can tell you're in the middle of something, so, uh, sorry to interrupt. But I need your help. You guys are the only chance I've got to find Sandy. Will you help me? Or shoot me?"

I tried not to show it, but I hoped to fucking Superman that they'd do the first.
Number #1

(In response to this guy.)
Ah, Sentinel. The Kid Krypto. The Teen of Steel. The Junior of Tomorrow. Superboy. I’ll be honest with you, the first time I heard him speak, I didn’t like him very much. Guy used his powers to read my vitals, and came to the conclusion that I was scared. Scared? I wasn’t scared. Nervous, sure. But scared? The hell was he talking about?

I wasn’t afraid of a bullet. I was afraid of what I’d do if one came at me.

Also, he pissed me off because I thought that gun-chick would think I was a wuss.

“Hey, come on, man,” I said, addressing him, “Don’t ruin my chances.” I thought of sneaking Pistolwhip a wink, but thought better of it. No thank you, bullets. Stay in your magazines.

NAME:
-Logan Kyle Rayner

ALIAS:
-None

AGE:
-16

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
-

  • Green Lantern Ring: The ring is powered by the user's willpower. Its powers include
    • Energy Projection: The firing of green energy blasts through raw willpower. These blasts are generally more powerful than any ballistic or other energy weapon.
    • Construct Creation: A Green Lantern uses his ring to creation constructs through a combination of willpower and imagination. These constructs can be virtually anything from a weapon to a giant bed to sleep on.
    • Flight: The ring can make you fly!
    • Force-Fields: The ring creates force-fields that give the wearer the ability to travel through the cosmos without a space ship. It also grants the wearer limited invulnerability.
    • Etc.: Other things such as a truly universal translator, holograph projection, Galactic encyclopedia, electromagnetic scanning, and so on.
  • Smart Kid: Logan is one of those kids that doesn't really care about school at all yet still manages to get some of the highest grades in the class. He does not have genius level intelligence, though maybe he would if he applied himself. However if he enjoys a subject he tends to excel at it.
  • Smooth Talker: Logan is a pretty likable person. (Or at least he likes to think so.) He can often talk his way out of hairy situations and can be down right charming at times. He's also a bit of a sarcastic ass when he wants to be.
  • Electrokinesis: Due to the fact that his mother comes from an alien race that can manipulate electrical currents, he also has this ability. Though he isn't very good at it. The ring is much easier to use anyway.
  • Creative: Maybe it comes from his father's hobby in art or the fact that he has traveled all over the galaxy in his short life. Logan is very creative, whether that shows itself in his drawings, construct creation, or schemes.. *ahem* strategies.
  • Psychology:Logan has always been interested by what makes other people tick. Psychology being his all-time favorite academic subject gives him the ability to ‘read’ people. If he isn’t day dreaming or trying to make everyone laugh he is probably quietly observing everyone.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
-

  • Slacker: His biggest weakness is a personality flaw that he's had for years. He seems to have absolutely no motivation to do anything school related unless it has to do with blowing something up with his ring. Homework be damned. How the hell does he keep the A's and B's? Who knows?
  • Water Phobia: Technically he isn't afraid of the ocean, just what is inside of it. Ridiculous as it might be he is scared of anything to do with fish in oceans, lakes, ponds, whatever. He absolutely refuses to swim at the beach. Seriously, he won't do it. Sharks and stuff.
  • Lazy: He isn't terribly out of shape but he won't exercise unless he really has to. He will probably never win a straight up endurance battle.
  • Wanderlust: He always has his head in the stars. He is usually day dreaming about having an adventure somewhere out in space and never seems to be focused on where he is. Especially if he is on Earth. What a boring planet.
  • Over-reliance: Logan isn't completely useless without his ring but he is pretty damn close. When it runs out of juice he usually becomes less than half the threat he was before.
  • Forgetful: Even though his ring's power holds most of his.. uh.. power he still somehow forgets to charge the thing. That probably goes back to the slacker/procrastinator personality of his.

SAMPLE POST:
-
“Logan get up.” Logan Rayner rolled unto his back and groaned. He knew what was going on. It was time to go to the least interesting planet in sector 2814. Earth. His father stood on the other side of the room in full White Lantern power. Guess he was pretty determined.

“Isn’t it almost Halloween back on Earth? It might be a little too late to enroll in Karagan dad.” Logan half yawned out as he sat up in bed, his hair half standing up. Sure he would like to get off of Oa but at least this place was filled with interesting people and species to see.

“Corrigan is still accepting students. I had a very nice chat with Barbara Gordon to make sure.” He wasn’t backing down. Hell he was even floating.

“Well I still have to pack.”

“Already done.” Four large bags outlined in glowing light floated into the room. They plopped down as the light disappeared. Of course his dad had packed the bags. Kyle Rayner was nothing if not persistent.

“Okay…” He paused and stood up trying to think of something else that could change his dad’s mind. “How am I supposed to learn to control the rest of the emotional spectrum on Earth?”

“The only other emotion you’re learning here is sloth, and they don’t make a ring for that.” Logan let out an exasperated sigh. He wasn’t getting out of this. “Look on the bright side, Uncle John works there. You haven’t seen him in years.”

“Dad, Uncle John is a freaking gym coach.”

“No, he’s the head gym coach. He got promoted.”

“Fine.” Logan sighed again, this time a little less dramatically. Within a few minutes he was dressed and the two were flying away from Oa. His dad had offered to let him stop at Seranna’s house to say goodbye but she had broken up with him a few weeks ago.

Before long the emerald planet was lightyears away.

NOTES:
-

  • He usually doesn’t have his ring on and activated. He keeps it in his pocket and is very efficient at arming himself when the need arises.
  • He’s the new kid and doesn’t know anybody yet.
  • He attended the Lantern academy on Oa until he transferred to Corrigan because his father thought he should “experience Earth”
  • He is normally pretty humble but has no problem talking about all the places he has been and seen. It might seem like bragging to some. He even spent a month on Ysmault, the home world of the Red Lanterns. (Though he hated every minute of it… maybe that was the point.)
  • That’s basically what he looks like except with a slight blue color to his skin and dark purple eyes.
  • He likes to dress up and usually wears a shirt and tie simply because he has been told he looks good in it.

PROPHIS

NAME:
Eligius Plautius (People just call him Sam)

ALIAS:
Prophis

AGE:
18 in appearance.
God knows in actual age, in the 800s somewhere.
*1st Incarnation*

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
POWERS - Regeneration
Sam's people - the Domini - rely on regeneration, to allow the old, wounded or otherwise dying to undergo a transformation into a new physical form and a somewhat different personality. Regeneration is composed of a special regeneration energy, and that energy isn't unlimited, but can still last up to 30 years, depending on how much harm a Domini recieves, and how many times they regenerate. They also have regeneration cycles, with the maximum amount of times one can regenerate being 12. Once that's over, they'll die and sustain wounds like a human. Another effect of regeneration is that a Domini can be thousands of years old, and yet appear as a thirteen year old.

Lava Lamp
Phrophis is completely immune to hot temperatures, and, in turn, hot water. He has baths without any cold water, and showers turned all the way up to hot. He can even have green tea straight away! Once, he even walked on the sun. This is a big plus for Sam, as he sees it, as he can easily walk into fires and rescue people. It's also very handy for being in a sauna.

Telepathy
Like other members of his kind, Sam retains a telepathic link between other Domini, and other races of his choice, moreso specific individuals. The individuals cannot be strong-minded, or easily distracted, otherwise the telepathic link will break. Most human brains are often too fragile for the strain of the telepathy, and can often snap, rendering them a drooling buffoon, or sometimes a jittering maniac.

Time Immunity
As Dominus Temporis (the home planet of the Domini) is a suspended fragment in time, the Domini are completely immune to any time alterations that might take place on any other planet, such as time being slowed, frozen, etc. This also means they are immune to time loops - strange occurrences in time where one scene might loop over and over, usually due to a paradox disturbing the space-time continuum. This often means it is up to the Domini to find and fix said paradox, thus making the phrase "domini rerum temporumque" come into play (see Notes).

Teleportation & Increased Reflexes
Since Domini are immune to time alterations and the such, they can call on an alteration themselves temporarily, and move to anywhere around them, giving the effect of teleportation. (Though, not the full benefits of it.) Since this is the case, they can also temporarily view things as though time were slowed, giving them increased reflexes, much faster than that of a human.

SKILLS - Dual Wielding
As stated, Sam is trained in the art of dual wielding weapons, though not fully skilled in it (there have been a few bruises from accidents during training). So far, he's just come off using training batons and is moving onto dual wielding small, lightweight weapons. He hasn't actually done much work on it, so the best he can do is bruise someone's arm or give them a black eye. He can slap someone pretty hard, too.

EQUIPMENT -

  • Dual Batons - The primary (and only) weapons of Prophis for the timebeing.
  • Fob Watch - Based on an old Domini myth of two lovers of chaos, this was created especially for Sam as a gift from his father. It's said to hold regeneration energy, as a quick refill for Sam if he ever ran out.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
  • Domini aren't immortal - the way to kill them is deliver a fatal wound whilst they're regenerating. However, it's kept a tight secret, one that all Domini take to their grave.
  • Sam is a rare Domini, of which is sensitive to shrill, high-pitched sounds, above the level of human hearing. All Domini can hear said sounds, but are otherwise unaffected by it.
  • Domini have a limited amount of regenerations, and people need a very good reason to get a new cycle from the High Council. The only thing regeneration energy can do is give Domini a boost if it were drained from them - it has no effect on their regeneration cycles.
  • Sam's telepathic link strains on his stamina and strength, and if he sustains one for too long he'll ultimately black out.

SAMPLE POST:
Nopenopenopenopenopenopenope. Nope.

NOTES:
Sam is a Domini - a race of humanoid beings from the planet Dominus Temporis, that rely on regeneration to cheat death.
FUN FACT: I actually created the Domini based on the Time Lords in Doctor Who, and also based on the Latin phrase "domini rerum temporumque", which means "lords of time". Also, domini means "of" in Latin, and dominus temporis means "sir time". (Though I like to think the cooler phrase would be dominus, which just means lord.)

NAME:
Thomas Springsteen

ALIAS:
Hi-Voltage, but goes by Volt for short.

AGE:
18

ABILITIES/SKILLS/EQUIPMENT:
Tommy has the ability to create and manipulate electrical energy. Since the his 'awakening' his body has become a biological 'electrical generator' of sorts. As his body metabolises food it also creates vast quantity's of electrical energy. He can use the energy in his body for a variety of things, most commonly using it to fire bolts of electricity, but also being able to give off EMP's and have low level control over the forces of magnetism.

His supercharged body gives him low levels of super-strength, speed and endurance, and incredibly high reaction times.

Tommy can drain the charge from electrical equipment to replenish his own supply of energy. He can drain outside sources of electricity to replenish his stamina, and can even use it to speed up his recovery from injuries. He can naturally sense if an area is rich in electrical energy or not. The more electricity his body has stored the more powerful he becomes, though after a certain point storing the energy can become quite a strain, and like filling a water balloon with too much water he is in danger of bursting.

For some reason beyond his or Clara's ability to understand he no longer requires sleep. This has proved incredibly useful in keeping up with his double life. Clara has suggested seeking more professional help to explain this phenomenon, but Tommy is hesitant to allow anyone else to discover his secret.

After a battle with the mental manipulator 'Pied Piper' Volt has come to realise he is extraordinarily resistant to psionic attacks. He attributes this to his brains unique electrical impulses.

Before joining Corrigan's he was trainging to become an electrician and proved to be quite extraordinary in the field, though some might say that should be a given.

Tommy has an easy going personality, which leads him to making friends and allies with ease, despite him being a solo act thus far. Being in the hero game for as long as he has helps you become quite a quick thinker. Tommy has become adapt at coming up with off the wall solutions to his problems on the fly.

As Hi-Voltage he has developed a skill in acrobatics and free-running. This, coupled with his natural speed and reflex's, help him avoid any serious damage in fights.

Szymon has taught him to speak some Polish.

As to equipement he has his supersuit, which is composed of a lightweight lyrcra material that allows him a high degree of flexibility, but no real protection.

Szymon has helped him develop a shortwave radio that allows him to listen to the police and emergency services line.

He also has a small in-ear communicator that allows him to keep in contact with Szymon at all time.

LIMITATIONS AND WEAKNESSES:
Being doused in water can short out Tommy's powers, and being completely submerged can cause him to loose consciousness'. If he uses more energy than he can generate or drain from his environment then he can die.

His control over magnetism is extremely limited, if only because he finds the concentration necessary is prohibitive. He once managed to budge a bus, but he suffered migraines for days afterwards.

Has never had any formal training in how to fight. He's picked up a few tricks since he started, and knows how to throw a punch, but he's by no means an expert. A master martial artist could probably beat him in a straight up fight, even with Tommy's physical advantages.

SAMPLE POST:
He couldn't even remember the route that he'd stumbled through London. Something told him that was a bad sign. His side wasn't hurting any more, instead just numb, and cold, while his fingers and toes tingled unpleasantly, and all he wanted to do was lie down and sleep. Something told him that was a worse sign.

“Volt?” There was a voice in his ear, but he wasn't sure where it was coming from. Was he hallucinating? No, no time to worry about that. He was at his digs now, just one shimmy up a drain pipe from sanctuary. Easy. He'd done it what felt like a million times.

. . . Only he'd never done it with a big ass hole the size of a tennis ball in his side.

No point crying 'bout that now, Tommy-Boy. Just got to do it. Knowing that if he put it off any longer then he'd never do it he staggered towards the wall, grabbed at the pipe and pulled. Fire bloomed in his side, all feelings of numbness nothing more than a blissful memory. He felt like he had to scream, to cry, to wail like a bairn. The urge to let go was intoxicating.

. . . but he didn't. He was slowly clambering up the wall, slow as an old man climbing stairs, teeth clenched against the pain, breath coming in comfortable wheezes, arms feeling like they were lead.

But he didn't let go.

“Volt!” The voice again, more insistent this time. Tommy still couldn't tell who it was. Maybe it was God, telling him his time was up. Yeah, right. Like God would wanna chew the fat wi' you.

He was level with his open window now, bathed in sweat, muscles screaming, fingers cramping. It took what felt like an age to shimmy into his room, collapsing over the sill with all the grace of a bag of tatties. He mighta blacked out as he lay there on the floor, panting like a sick dog. The voice was still in his ear, screaming now, speaking a language he didn't fully recognise. Was that. . . was that Polish?

Szymon. It was Szymon talking over the earpiece. Szymon could help.

“Hello,” Tommy managed to croak out. There was a sigh of relief down the line.

“Volt, you bitch, why didn't you answer? What happened? Are you alright? Where's Obsidian?” Szymon asked questions like a machine gun fires hot lead, not even pausing long enough for Tommy to actually answer. Not that it mattered, Tommy wasn't of a mind to be answering them right now. He just needed one thing from his friend.

“Sy, I need Clara. I'm hurt. Hurt bad.” He managed to rasp out.

“On it.” was the reply. Simple and concise. Szymon was all business in a crisis. He'd know Volt's location through the suit's in-built tracker, he'd get Clara, then she'd come and patch him up. All Tommy had to do was lie there and not die.

That, and think about how he failed. How he'd let Donny Sharpe, Obsidian, get away, how he let Donny win.

Again.

Even with all his power, all his advantages, Tommy still couldn't stop the one man he wanted to stop more than any other. Every time he and Sharpe clashed, he always seemed to be lucky to survive the scrape, while his nemesis got away clean, revelling in the fact that he couldn't be stopped. It was sickening in the extreme. Soul crushing. Spirit sapping. If it wasn't Tommy's responsibility to at least try and stop Sharpe then he knew he would have given it up a long time ago.

He couldn't stop, but he couldn't continue on as he was. Something had to change.

He was starting to black out again when he heard a car stop outside. At his hour that could only mean one thing. Clara was here, here to save his worthless hide. He turned his head in the direction of the door, knowing he had to stay conscious. It was hard though, so very hard. All he wanted to do was sleep, sleep and give up. He began to look around the room from his position on the floor, desperate for anything to grab his attention, anything that he could focus on that would keep him on the moment.

There was nothing.

Then he seen the letter, sitting on his desk. The letter he'd read weeks ago, and casually forgotten about it, sure it had been sent to the wrong person.

It was a letter from Corrigan's.

And it would change his life. . .
