Another duel between Empty Armor and Doc Doctor. Post limit is two days.

Name: The Moschet Museum

Size: Outside arena floor space is 50 x 60 feet wide covered by mountains that reach for miles, indoors is a 120x60 feet hall

Properties: The outdoor arena has destructible stone structures and is always night time, the indoors has rickety upper level platforms and a large pit at the end of the museum, this pit is endless. Other than the mountain the Arena is fully destructable. You will start in the outdoor arena and the large entrances seen in the image will lead you to the main part of the museum. The interior structure of the Museum is mainly very dry wood which is fairly flammable, if a large enough fire is started, the whole building will burn down.

Player Capacity: up to 6 players can fight here.

Description :

Flavour Text: The Moschets were a very dangerous but powerful and famous married couple, they were rumored to be demons and had large enough egos they kept all their most prized possessions in a grand museum in a mountain construct. They were later killed by witch hunters, and the museum was vandalized on numerous occasions. But every so often the spirits of the Moschets will come to watch duels between powerful warriors in the place they were once so proud of.

Hmmm . . . I have read the last four posts. There are logical inconsistencies in the attack and effect vs. defense and effect of the characters actions. You may want someone else in addition to Rilla to look it over. I cannot see how someone leaping in the air in a defensive move has the leverage to cleave through someone, much less throwing the other weapon, which alters the physical positioning of Zande’s downward strike. Regardless of how fast someone may be, to jump in the air, swing down at someone with an axe, diving below them. then suddenly throwing another weapon as they sail over them and still strike with enough force while in the air to cleave through someone . . . I’d have invalidated the entire set of posts.

But that’s me, if someone else @Melonhead, @Tasuke, @DJAtomika or @LeeRoy says that the entire set of actions makes logical sense then go with it. @Rilla will award the win regardless.

@SkallagrimEarly on she ducked clean below a front kick to the gut from a standing position. I figured a bit of physical leeway there at the end would be fair.

I was asked to evaluate the last four posts not the entire fight. Based on what was asked I gave my opinion. But to be fair I may have invalidated that move.

@RillaWe need a final judgement. It would be either a mutual kill since she broke the Rules Snake to get in an attack on Zande, or a win if Zande can cut her arm off quick enough.

I'm not a judge, but I'm sure my opinion holds some weight here

I have to say I share @Skallagrim's original opinion, but its up to Rilla.

I'd like to discuss this further with earlier points in the fight that better substantiate the finale, but it's not really chipper to try and sway a decision without Empty being here. I'm sure he'd like to be a part of this conversation too.

I don't think you'd be able to throw an axe at someone while you were passing over them. Intent to hit, sure, but with the strength to sever a limb? Don't think so. It'd probably lodge in her shoulder.

Well, I suppose I'll try to defend the action a bit, just to not get steamrolled by judges.

@DJAtomika@Dynamo Frokane@Skallagrim
I'd normally think so too, concerning the efficiency of the attack. The primary reason I did that was in relation to the following feats, which gave me the impression that a certain level of practicality could be sacrificed in this match. Keep in mind that Zande's specialty is melee augmented with supernatural steroids.

Zande pushed off the wall and landed neatly beside Tanya, on her left. As the dreadlocked horror then rushed upon her, from betwixt its front teeth would a spray of blood jet out. It intended to spit in her eyes as she looked. A technique!? A plan!? The cannibal may have been insane, but insanity and stupidity were two different things.

After launching the distraction, Zande would swing his left axe up over his head in preparation for a strike, at the same time leaping forwards and thrusting his right foot towards Tanya's abdomen, actually trying to overshoot the mark so that if she tried to escape backwards it would still land. A charging front kick with enough weight behind it to drive most humanoids into the ground.

Though her skin written defences might absorb the shock of the kick, what came next would not be so easy to endure. Should the blow land, then instead of drawing back his foot Zande would bear his weight forwards. The brutal talons of his boot could easily gouge through the intestinal wall and catch on the top of the pelvis, dragging a victim to their knees and leaving them too traumatised to block the overwhelmingly powerful swing of his readied axe.

The killer had gone berserk and rapidly closed the distance, its insane instincts piloting its body more immediately than its mind. All the same, it wouldn't make life so easy as to attack without a backup plan. As it landed next to Tanya with a weighty thunk, it attempted the gambit of blinding her with its tar-like spit before throwing everything behind its weight in a vicious kick. Fortunately, Tanya's pact with her Snake hadn't dulled her reflexes at all, or it would have been a rather poor weapon of last resort.

She pivoted towards the monster as it landed, and threw up her left hand in reflex as the inky jet of blood spurted from between its shark-like jaws. The feathers wrapped around her left forearm burned and disappated at the blast of foul liquid, but there were yet enough about her back to propel her forward. All Tanya needed to do to avoid the incoming kick was duck down low, the ironshod boot swinging like a doorbuster overhead.

Empty is a great fighter and someone I love to roleplay with, but out of my own stubborn competitiveness I am inclined to say that I imagined that throwing an axe in mid-air would be no less improbable than ducking below a fighter's gut kick, much less a superhuman one. Just my logic though. For reference...

@SkallagrimWe need you to decide whose final move takes priority, we are pretty much finished. Read the last four I.C posts to get an idea of what's going on.

Again you asked to have the only last four posts evaluated. The picture was unnecessary and presumes we are not cognizant of actual fighting styles and techniques.

Had you asked for a judge at the point the kick had be avoided it very well have been adjudicated in your favor. Which is one reason we advocate judges always for ranked matches.

I'm sure you know what a front kick is, but it doesn't hurt to assume the worst case scenario. I just want to get a point across. At any rate you're right about what I asked for, and I doubt many of you have the time nor inclination to sift through the entire fight. If you stick to the last four pages that's fine. Just know that the match as a whole hasn't been all that practical to begin with. I mean, there's an ink magicking chick with a demon snake fighting a man–eating black guy on drugs.

I agree, and I did read the whole fight. But because I had been asked for specific posts I focus on them. My opinion in this is simple. Your action would damage but not to the extent you want. Had you landed, tumbled come up and thrown the axe, one continous motion. Declared a hit, I think you'd have won out right.

@SkallagrimIf only, eh? But I gotta work with what I've got, and the only refuge from the leaping axe throw thing is to point out all the other impractical (yet perhaps sensually stimulating and erotic) actions that had occured. I'm a bit drunk, but as of right now still comprehensible.

Thank you for weighing in everyone. Sorry it's taken me so long to get back, but I'll throw my two cents in as well. As Skallagrim pointed out, there were multiple ambiguities throughout the fight that Doc and I chose to leave unaddressed by judges, and because of that decision, may be moot points in determining which way the battle should swing. That said, I'd like to discuss two items-- first, the kick that Doc describes as having allowed in order to interpret his characters physical abilities to his favor, and second, my own reasoning for agreeing with the sequence of events that has occurred thus far. My goal with all this is to save the actual black man from some effort if possible, and make resolving this as quick and easy for everyone as possible.

As far as the kick goes, Doc summarized the exchange as having been less than realistic in that my character ducked from a full stand to below a kick to the stomach with impossible speed. At that time, I had been picturing my character as crouching, as implied by a couple posts before:

All in all, Tanya was terrified, but Tanya was ready. She balanced on the balls of her feet, and got ready to leap.

In the interim before the quote above and the kick, my chracter's position was not stated to have changed. That said, I recognize that the description of her position is ambiguous, and should have been clarified at that time.

As far as my reasoning for my character's speed goes, I use this section from my character sheet to justify her ability to match Doc's character in movement speed.

"She is able to move with impressive grace and speed, built through years of practice dodging hexes among ramparts and towers. Her movement style in urban areas bears a striking resemblance to modern parkour, which she can augment through the use of the Feather of Innocence."

Throughout the fight, I was working under the assumption that my character could augment her speed to superhuman levels, and that she had moved from a crouch to upset her enemy's balance in the first place. With the exchange described in the last four posts, I'd argue that my character is quite fast enough to dive underneath Doc's without taking an axe through the arm. However, I chose to write it as having hit there in order to be absolutely certain I could trade damage, and I stand by that. Furthermore, I'm working with the assumption that "using" a weapon means actually drawing blood with a knife, rather than dealing the final blow with magic. I realize that it can be interpreted otherwise, but as no clarification was asked for or made as to how the ability I wrote functions, my interpretation should take priority.

Ultimately, I think it's up to Rilla the way this'll shake out. I'm not sure exactly what the criteria are for evaluating a match, but if it's worth anything, I'd prefer it to be for the quality of our posts through the battle, since whoever gets this last blow is kinda up up in the air at the moment. Doc is worth much respect-- I honestly believe that I've won this one, but I could see this gight go either way.

I'd draw the line at the "weapon use" variation, since it was indeed "used" to channel offensive magic. At the least I'd say the battle would end in a tie due to that violation of the Rules Snake, considering Tanya's profile mentions that the Snake interprets new rules as the opponent means for them to be understood. Whilst Tanya's training and magic can augment her, I'd think at most it would barely equalize her with Zande's speed since his build is that of a pure physical monstrosity and not a versatile mage. Equalization would scarcely allow such freedom as to evade the kick in such a manner, which I'd deem in the name of friendly competition to have been allowed at the expense of myself using an equally impractical technique at some later point in time.

Is it just me or am I imagining this whole thing to be taking place in a courtroom? I feel like a fricking inebriated lawyer.

Yeah, those are also valid interpretations, but that's why we're here in the court room. Tell me when you want to negotiate hits next time, though, I'll usually bite instead of calling a judge unless I absolutely have to. I had no idea that you saw the dodge as something that could give you some leeway, I'dve prolly played differently if I knew we were playing with comeback mechanics. That's neither here nor there though.

On a side note, since I left oldguild I've declared as a political science major. I consider this shit good practice.

@EmptyArmorI didn't really expect you to know, I just keep track of that stuff in my head. As you've probably noticed, I'm fine with virtually anything in a match so long as opponents are allowed to keep equal ground in terms of stat balance. If Tanya tore off her skin to reveal herself as the Michelin Tire Man, then I'd have Zande strip down to his true form of Shaquille O'Neal. The Doc abides.
