Hey all I'm working on finalizing the details for rp that I'm thinking of calling The Village of Secrets.
It's centered around a settlement (duh) in fantasy world that's intentionally vaguely defined for a reason I'll get around to explaining later. The village is mysterious because despite being around for as long anyone living there can remember no one knows its true origins. Of interest is that it's either built over on ruins, there is a set of ruins close the outskirts, or perhaps within the village there's some building that's used that looks to be older than the village.
I can't decide so I'll toss it up for you guys to decide.
Anyway the players come in and they're either locals or perhaps immigrants to the village. Regardless of origins you all play some role in the village with your occupation or ability.
Perhaps you are a black smith or you're part of the council that helps govern, or even one of the Sentinels a group of people sworn to uphold the safety and peace of the village who act as part police/monster hunters/mediators between the council and the people.
You will also all have a Secret that acts as a hook for your character and plot point for the story's game. You'll PM me a suggestion for a secret and if it works I'll add it to a hidden list and if not we'll work on it to make it fit.
On top of that secret you'll also help define the village, it's environs, and things outside of the village. Although I will say to keep most of the focus within the village because I want to invoke a feeling of a small town with a sort of cozy isolation from the world at large and work on daily interactions and routines which will help contrast when plot lines kick in especially dramatic ones that might involve the world at large.
And since I'm on the topic of the world the setting is fantasy but think less D&D and more JRPGish. Think vaguely medieval world with crystals and shit and some anachronistic elements. In regards to races I'll allow the option of not playing as a vanilla human but I'll be choose on what gets in since I don't care for generic dwarves, elves, orc type stuff but also don't want something too over the top/unfitting you dig?
Anyway feel free to ask questions and pitch suggestions. I'll list some further details on another post.
