Hi. After reading some previous intro posts, I've seen that some people might possibly be interested in how long I've been roleplaying. The answer to that would be about 2 1/2 years. Since I'm used to writing things out in detail, here's something a bit more detailed as an introduction.
I enjoy anime, drawing, reading, reading webcomics, reading manga, singing in the shower, and gaming, as well as animating with a 3D choreography program known as MMD. On other roleplay domains I frequently tend to host roleplay campaigns based off of my most recent obsession, which at the moment happens to be an amazing anime called Tokyo Ghoul.
I got my username three years ago from combining the names of two of my favorite book characters at the time, (Mara from Mara, Daughter of the Nile, and Aylah, a wind spirit from the Merlin series who apparently smells like cinnamon) and I like it so I still use it.
I often go through phases of "LOOK AT THIS ERMAGERSH WHY AREN'T YOU LOOKING JUST LOOK AT IT" and phases of "life sucks why was i born i don't even care anymore the world's going down the tubes."
Should you be available a lot and an acquaintance, you will most likely witness both of these moods at some point.
I do have a few questions, which are related to things that my brother mentioned about this site. Is it true that for the most part, people here don't really understand the concept of OP characters? Also, will I find very many people who are willing to read fangirly rants about a new character in some roleplay I joined or read? Who are in the positions of power around here, and who should I watch for?

To answer your questions:
#1 (OP characters): Not true. Or at least not universally true. Some sections are more prone to misunderstandings than others. In the advanced section, you probably won't find many GMs who do not know how to poke holes in overpowered characters. We certainly deal harshly with OP characters when we get them thrown at us.

#2 (fangirl rants): If it engages people, then such rants will probably be read. There's so many different people here, so there's bound to be others who share such opinions.

#3 (power distribution): The real power hereabouts lies in the hands of the Guild's Dark Overlord, Mahz, and the moderators. They're all nicely behaved, so you normally do not need to worry about them. There are a number of other people with influence, but none who truly need to be feared. The last category don't have any direct power over the guild itself. If you behave in a fair and cool fashion (like the Fonz) you'll be all good and not get in trouble with the staff.

The only thing you really need to make sure is that RPs of a more... erotic... nature need to be run in private messages, due to the way the Guild is funded (adsense).

I usually write between 1-3 paragraphs per RP post. Occasionally I'll write more, but on average it's 1-3.

Correct grammar is rather important to me, and I usually appreciate if people point out any mistakes I've made in a post. My biggest pet peeve in grammar is when people switch persons or tenses halfway through a post or between posts.

I usually prefer to RP in a group, because I've found that two-person RPs don't usually last as long.

Also, in reference to the bit about erotic posts, I am under 18 so I do not intend to be doing anything of that nature

Heh. Then we can safely point you to the advanced section primarily @Marayla, with a bit of venturing into Casual occasionally. We recommend avoiding the 1x1 section, as that is not only focused on two players only, but also has a lot of RPs with a focus on relationships between two individuals.

Are there other RP genres than Anime you favor? any of the (non-anime) mainstream fandoms that tend to recur in your obsessions?

How do you view things like post-apocalyptic, Fantasy or Sci-fi RPs? or for that matter Slice of life RPs?

I enjoy original RPs and fandom-related RPs. Even if I haven't heard of the fandom I'll occasionally join a RP if it looks interesting, then binge-watch or read the thing it's based off of and research it along the way. As to some of the more mainstream things I like, here you go:

In terms of 'power' you don't need to worry too much, the site is based around the user base so there's nothing to watch out for. The mods here are just here to keep it fun for all.
