"Speaking of drinks," Raven said, picking up his glass, "Cheers."
He took a sip of the flash-freeze, and immediately he winced, coughing abruptly; his breath came out in a misty cloud, like on a cold day. "Oh shit that's cold," he said.
Dex laughed. "Well, it got it's name for a reason. Some people I've seen down the thing in one go."

Moses raised her glass with his and smiled widely. She took a sip hers, thin, purple tongue quickly flitting into the glass when she drank. As Raven coughed she chuckled.
"You humans are having such elaborate rituals around the preparing of your food and drink." She mused.

"if I tried to drink all this at once I'd literally give myself a brain freeze," said Raven, shivering slightly.
"Probably," said Dex. "So don't; it would give me a bad reputation."
Raven grinned. "Besides, I suppose first sip's the hardest, right?"
He took another drink, his face screwing up again. "Oh no, nope, still bad."

"Why drink it then?" Moses chuckled. "If I am not mistaken the flavours of fruits are more preferable to you, correct? Why not having a fruity drink?"

"Well, don't get me wrong, it tastes nice, it just makes my whole mouth freeze," said Raven. "Although I think I'll take your advice. Dex! Grab me something else, would ya?"
"Like what? A Sherley Temple? Pina Colada? Bellini?" he teased.
Raven gave him a quick glare and slid his glass across the counter to the cheeky white-haired bartender; it left a trail of frost on the bar as it went. "Don't care, just make it quick. Please," he added, with a grin.

"I do having a question, if you are not minding." Moses said to Raven. "A term that your friend using. What is a date? I know it is a specific calendar day, but that does not appearing to be the context he using it in."

"Oh, yeah, well..." Raven blushed slightly as he thought about how he would explain. He really did like Moses, and he hoped it wouldn't put her off by using the term so forwardly. "A date is a term for when two people go out together not just to hang out, but you know...to get to know each other in case they're attracted to each other. In a way beynd frendship I mean..."
He was blushing even more now.

The skin beneath Moses' chin darkened as Raven explained the concept.
"Eh! Cha danoka." She started. "I had not realizing that this had being a part of human courtship." The discoloration on her neck spread downwards.
"It was not my intention I swear."

Raven seemed surprised by her reaction. His gaze ran over her darkening complexion, but he thought it only made her prettier. "Well..." He began, taking a deep breath and smiling. "It, uh, it was my intention..."

Moses exhaled in relief, brushing several unruly tendrils from her face. There was a moment where she paused as she processed what Raven had said before the darkening returned with gusto.
"Cuss mujy s dy antredo." She blurted out. "Cuss- I meaning - You mean so?"

Raven chuckled. "Yeah, I do," he said. "I really like you, Moses. You're so...new and beautiful, like no one I've ever encountered before in almost 150 years of travels. You're a gem, a star amidst fireflies, and I want a chance to get to know you, more than I've known anyone else before."
"Holy Falhanienne Galaxy Belt Vinny you are just radiating poetry tonight," said Dex.
Raven flashed him an annoyed glare. "I mean it!" he said, looking back at Moses. "Every word of it."

Moses picked absently at the rim of her glass as her tendrils twitched close to her head.
"Pha Shaurach. I don't knowing what to say." She chuckled nervously. "I would be lying if I saying that I had not been thinking about it too. Though I am not knowing. We are so different. Would it even working?" She tapped her claws against the table as she thought out loud.

"The universe is so incredibly vast," said Raven. "I doubt we're the first people who'd be willing to give it a try. I really enjoy being with you, Moses."

Moses shook her head and chuckled. She took a drink and looked back to Raven, smiling softly.
"Yes. You are right. I have seeing it in my travels, but never thinking that it would ever happening to me." She sighed. "Perhaps I am thinking too much. I greatly enjoying your company as well, Raven. I have never had a... uh... dechreina? I do not knowing the word for a romantic partner."

"Well...yes, I did. Once," he said. "But it's still a pretty new thing for me. Generally if we were...uh...to be together, then you would be my girlfriend and I would be, um, I would be your boyfriend. But dechriena, that sounds nice."
Raven's cheeks reddened again.
"Oh for God's sake just kiss," Dex said impatiently.

Moses' neck darkened further, now a deep purple and her gills stood out from behind her jawline slightly. She pulled her tendrils back off her face once more and gave a hiss that sounded almost like a chuckle.
"Cha. Eh. Cha. Merdy yen?" She stuttered.

Raven laughed slightly. "I think this is a very good example of why I'd benefit learning your language," he said, grinning.

Moses smoothed down her gills and nodded.
"Eh. Yes. I would very much like to teach you. I have found it is not too different from Interspace. Perhapse." She paused. "Perhaps it could be a good idea for another date?"

Racen's face lit up. "Yeah! Absolutely."

Moses smiled with him and lifted her glass.
"Then as your people would saying, cheers. To girlfriend and doyfriend." She said, obviously struggling with the words.
