An old man, wearing a white cloak and a giant mane of wild black hair, was staring into a pot of horrendous looking liquid. Or the daily Hell special as he would call it. He sat on a massive black rock pillar, towering over the many others. The old man looked displeased and in some type of stress, scratching the hairs on his chin as he lifted his spoon. On the spoon was a bone, with a crack right down the middle of it "This is bad, I've never seen an omen this bad before. Something is going on in the living world, someone is planning something big. This is not good, not good at all" "Whats not good sensei?" A young, maturing voice said from behind. The old man's brow twitched Dammit to Hell He turned, looking back to see his apprentice, Hozumi who was now in his early teens. Hozumi was clearly out of breath, sweat dripping down his body as he struggled to lift the two giant boulders that were attached to him. They were a training tools that the old man gave him. He finally managed to get them up on the pillar as his sensei began speaking "You're not good, I thought I was gonna die of boredom from taking so long. How long did it take you to get up here? 4 days? I expected 1 day from my pupil, maybe I should of left you for dead instead of picking you up" He said, picking his nose with his pinky and flicking off whatever he found with it to the side. Hozumi had suspicious looking eyes, examining his sensei "You're telling the truth, but that wasn't what you were talking about huh!" The old man's brow twitched again "Anyways, where's Lucy? Hozumi shrugged "She said she had to finish some business and that she'll be back in a week or so....WAIT A MINUTE!!" He yelled, pointing at his sensei "You're trying to distract me huh!" Little runt catches on The old man thought as he dipped the spoon back in the stew and stood up. In no time, he was in front of Hozumi "Do you really wanna know?" Hozumi grinned, nodding multiple times "Yes!" "Okay I'll tell you, if you make it back up here in 12 hours" He said as he softly kicked one of the boulders. The giant boulder went flying off the pillar and plummeting down. Hozumi's eyes widened quickly, as he turned to his sensei to speak some last words "YOU BETTER NOT BE LYING!!" He yelled as the boulder yanked him off the pillar, sending him falling downwards back into the darkness below. The other boulder was yanked off the pillar while the old man walked back over to his stew. He took out a spoon full and took a sip "That should keep him occupied for a couple of days"
12 Hours later
The old man was performing a strange ritual, black smoke rising from the same pot. He sat in a meditation position, speaking ancient and unknown words, unable to spoken by the modern day tounge. The middle of the smoke began to crystalize and form a black mirror. Suddenly, multiple images began to appear in mirror. He continued to speak in the strange language, until he heard someone struggling and making loud noises of agony. His concentration was broken as the mirror shattered to pieces. He sighed as he stood up, turning to see a small hand grab the edge of the pillar. He walked over to the edge, looking down and seeing Hozumi struggling to get up. But yet, Hozumi kept a wide grin on his beat up and bruised face "Hehe, I made it" The old man smirked "I'm gonna be honest, I thought you would be dead by now. But the reason why you're still alive exceeds my own knowledge He sighed, walking over to the pot and sitting down as Hozumi struggled to get up. "Take a seat" Hozumi raised an eyebrow "Um, the rocks?" The old man gave him a death glare "Take. A. Seat." Hozumi hurried in front of him, sitting down while struggling to not get flung off the giant pillar again. The old man looked at Hozumi for a while, scratching his chin and thinking of what to say. He opened his mouth a few times, but would close it back up. Hozumi sat in silence "....well?" The old man sighed "How do I say this, everyone you knew and loved is dead" Hozumi's eyes quickly widened, but before he could react the old man spoke again "Just kidding! I heard its better to deliver false worse news before the bad news is delivered. Did it work?" Hozumi stared at his sensei, his eyes twitching and holding himself back from attacking the old man. Not that he would have a chance in winning "Whats the bad news then?" "Well to be honest, its not just one thing. Many bad things have been happening. Although I can't get the full details since I'm bound to Hell, I can get the general gist of whats going on...it would seem as though the evil has been growing stronger. Not only that, but there is much turmoil in your former home, the Seireitei" Hozumi interrupted "What happened?! Is my mother and family okay?!" The old man scratched his chin once again, finding it soothing "As I said before, I don't know the specifics. But...there's a certain individual who disturbs me. Just the sensation and energy from this being is spine chilling. And it just keeps on growing. It was the same being that killed your father Hozumi" Hozumi's eyes widened. He wanted to ask who, but knew it would be pointless. Instead, he bit his lip "And this person is probably way stronger than me huh" The old man nodded. Hozumi sat in silence "But there's more. I've noticed something else Hozumi, something inside of you. Staying inside of Hell has stunted your overall growth rate. By now, you should of already had the body of a full adult and strength of atleast a captain. Something just doesn't add up" Hozumi stood up, looking away as a scorching hot hellish wind passed them. But Hozumi showed no reaction to it "Is there something I can do to fix it?" The old man scratched the back of his head "Well yes, but in your current state....you'll die without a doubt. To be quite frank, only a single person has accomplished which you wish to do. And that person is the ruler of this entire domain, the same man who brought you here. Tartaros, the ruler of Hell" The old man stood up and walked over to the edge. Hozumi followed and did the same, struggling not to fly off with the hang boulders that were attached to his waist. The old man placed his hand on Hozumi's shoulder, looking down at him with a smile "Don't worry Hozumi, I'll find another way to get both you and Lucy out of Hell. So for now, survive" He said, giving Hozumi a push off the pillar once again. Hozumi cursed and yelled as he plummeted downwards into the unknown. The old man chuckled and smirked. He jumped off the cliff, falling downwards to go make sure his apprentice didn't die yet
