History: Little is known about Nero's history, but most rumors link him to a noble house of Kira, although he himself never admitted it was anything more than a rumor.
In reality, he was once a member of the Kira family, but left after a dispute with the elders. They gave him private tutoring, which he gladly accepted, but also wanted him to skip the academy and enter a squad immediately upon finishing his training. The elders were eager to send one of their prodigies to the Gotei 13 at such young age, in hopes of rejuvenating the pride of the family name - after all, having a young prodigy in Gotei 13 always did wonders for a house of nobles.
Little did the elders know that Nero would decline the offer on the spot and, when given an ultimatum, leave the family for good. He didn't want to skip the academy; not because he felt it was unfair to other people, but because he relished the opportunity to feed his ego on people that weren't as intelligent as him. Also, he really wanted to build connections, his own pride and own stature. He never could've cared less for nobles and their pity matters. What mattered to him were only his own goals.
Therefore, he enrolled in the academy and left the family behind. At that point, he was labeled as an outcast in his house and his last name was officially taken from him. Yet, he didn't mind. Without hesitating, he took the name of one of the most ancient physicians (from the human world), Aegimus and modified it to be his proud last name.
Due to the private tutoring he received, he was a few years older than most of the students at the academy, but also managed to finish the study program in much less time than anyone else in his generation, thus receiving congratulatory message from an abundance of important people.
His time at the academy, though, was easily one of the most important periods in Nero's life. It was during his first year that he started experimenting with spiritual pressure, finding himself especially talented in both the area of technological inventions and medical treatment. The one he really wanted to hone, back then, was technology and thus found his resolve to rise on the top of the 12th Squad. He pursued his intention for a while, before realizing that with his potential, he could easily combine both of his areas of interest and become a force to be reckoned with.
By the time he left the academy, he had already given a birth to his specialty - bio-engineering.
Personality: Simply put, Nero is a genius. And his ego highly reflects on that, taking measures to always end up reminding others just how much better he is than them. That doesn't mean that he is a social outcast, far from that, but he is not a butterfly either. The only thing refraining him from being a social butterfly is his constantly racing mind that finds most matters, of "ordinary people", counterproductive.
Despite that, Nero does love conversing with other people to an extent, but it always somehow ends up with him playing with the other person and making sure that his stature is well known. And it seems that his limit is five fruitless conversations per day. Six, if it's a really good day.
Due to his childhood, Nero understands social procedures well, although he is not very fond of old relics and died out traditions.
Although his area of specialty is bio-engineering, he is quite versatile and knows his way around most areas of scientific study, having read a lot of books from the Soul Society and the Human World alike. He is well known as a person that offers a helping hand when needed, but also as a person that is not afraid to cut down someone who stands in his way. And when he decides to cut someone down, everybody knows it's not going to be a quick, painless death.
Nero is not a stranger to the technological department of Soul Society and once had ambitions of becoming a Captain of said squad, but his goals changed since then, especially since he found out that the 12th Squad has a new Captain. That in itself would not make him turn his head in another direction, but he knows well that Heads of the Tech. Department never die easily and that is something he doesn't want to test. Instead, he turned his attention to another squad that fit his skills well - 4th squad. In terms of technology and the ability to experiment, 4th squad is the second after the 12th. That fact made Nero even more eager to become the Captain and assure that the growth of the squad surpasses the 12th,
under his ingenious leadership.

Unravel (5 post cool down between folding back and forth) - The trigger in the grip unfolds the blade at extreme speed (rises with rank); sword can be used both folded and unfolded - when folded, acts like a broadsword; when unfolded, acts like a 80cm long, carbon fiber reinforced blade
Necrotic Knowledge (lasts max. 5 posts before cool down takes place, whether the effect was used or not; 5 post cool down) - Unlike the design of the blade itself that allows Nero to unfold it, Necrotic Knowledge is the sole ability of the Shikai. By cutting an object, an enemy or blocking a Zanpakuto, Chishi Banzen absorb the knowledge about the object/person/weapon and transfers it to Nero himself via a spiritual pressure link between the two. With each cut or block, the knowledge becomes more vast and easier to organize. If gathered from a person, the knowledge includes everything from a psychological profile to their blood type. If the knowledge comes from the sword, Chishi Banzen learns its weaknesses, strengths, techniques and (if possible) Spirit Form of the Zanpakuto.
The amount of information depends on two things - first, how many times has the opponent been cut/zanpakuto been blocked. The more times Nero cuts his opponent, that much of an upper hand he gains. And second, the damage dealt to an object/his opponent. For example, should Nero merely graze his opponent, the amount of information would be much less than cutting his opponent through the chest. The more severe the damage, the greater amount of information
(doesn't apply to blocking a Zanpakuto; in that case, only the amount of times it was blocked matters)Although the information is transferred to Nero, it is still up to him to manually sort the information in his head. Due to his high intelligence, he is able to do so in the middle of a battle, but it requires high concentration, which is one of the reasons Nero never dwelved further into his Zanpakuto's abilities.
Once the data is absorbed, Chishi Banzen stores it forever and it can later be accessed by Nero on various monitors in his inner world.
