Well she's using psionic energy to make herself invisible so I would assume it would shield her from Minervas as well. At least that's what I get from it unless someone else thinks differently. I researched Invisible Woman and tried to see how her powers worked. I modeled Janelle's powers after hers but way less powerful. Hers seem to work psionically as well and she is able to be mentally shielded. Although Susan gained her powers from cosmic energy so it may be a bit different. I honestly couldn't explain it.

You can actually detect her easily if you're smart. She's physically and mentally shielded but no it doesn't work on the rest of the senses (yet). So you can hear her if she isn't quiet. You can see her foot steps if she steps in water, snow, etc. You can throw a liquid on her if you see her. Really cold temperatures will distort her invisibility. It's all laid out in the Limits/Weaknesses hider.

@GreenGrenade The answer depends on what you want or do not want him to know, as well as how old and how long Gareth has owned each particular item. When he's concentrating, or just paying attention to a certain point, Lucas can pick up a fair amount of implied facts, but not always actual facts. For instance, someone shouting might usually mean anger, and if he doesn't manage to catch the words or the rest of the conversation, that's probably what he'd assume, but it could also just mean someone forgot something and the person's trying to let them know, or any number of other reasons to shout. Except to be heard over noisy things, cuz he'd probably be hearing the noise, too. :P

Most things that are on or always near a person, Lucas tends to assign some importance to, unless it's clothing. Simply because that's the general method of dealing with things someone thinks are important, they keep them close. (barring things inconvenient to carry around and very valuable items)

After reading Gareth's sheet, my best guess is that he'd seem like a steady, solid individual, as his clothes wouldn't be chockfull of every emotion under the sun, but would reflect a certain calm. But also someone he might be afraid of getting angry. It depends on which clothes he happens to have with him, and how much his anger is fuelling his Mindjack persona, because a spike of anger would be more disconcerting than a steady irritation and the combination of Mindjack emotions with civilian emotions would be confusing. There's also the matter of that gun, and how often Gareth has been in the line of fire in those clothes. As Lucas could pick up on the noise and heat of the gun's use, and potentially the rapid motion of air over the clothes(though he might just put that down as maybe he lives in a windy place, unless he focused on it more intently). He'd be able to tell that Gareth is, at very the least, a man of action, as his hands probably do not shake when he holds that gun.

He'd probably be able to pick out his name, and the names of a few other people, most likely Leah and Danny, though placing their relationship would be harder.

The picture, without actively seeing what it is and what it's depicting, would mostly come across as a well-liked piece of paper. As I'm assuming he hasn't folded it, Lucas could hazard a guess that it's a picture(particularly if it's old and before the time of digital printing, then he'd have the dark room process to go off of), but it could be a postcard, even without being written on. If he saw it was a woman he'd probably assume she's family. And he might, but only might, say she's Leah, most especially if Gareth ever says her name while looking at it.

He might hear some of the conversations Gareth had with Danny concerning his recent actions, and if any of the clothes are what he was wearing when he learned of Leah's death, touching them would probably tell Lucas that there is heavy loss in Gareth's life, and he's still feeling it, to some extent.

And the bag itself might well tell him how well-travelled Gareth is or isn't.

It generally takes him a bit of time to officially assimilate all the little hints and clues and assumptions into an impression that he can articulate and reason out. Right off the bat though, he'd accept Gareth as a calm, but potentially dangerous person.

Ah, I don't usually assume that psionic energy effects mental things unless it's spelled out explicitly because I am really bad when it comes to understanding how powers work unless I came up with them and even then... *flails* But I think I get it now, ypeyep. Thanks for your patience. :)

@Nemaisare That makes a lot of sense. You've pretty much nailed Gareth with that description, too, so props to that. I'm honestly really looking forward to interacting with Lucas (and all the other characters, of course), but he really manages to excite me in particular just because of his power.

Also, woot, the IC!

Man, I can't wait for Lucas to look at Zeke and just know that his clothes are basically all stolen.

Hahaha! He might think hand-me-downs or Value Village or Sally-Ann's first, but yeah... Further time in Zeke's presence would tell him that no, no, those didn't go through any voluntary donation process. Especially that leather jacket.... And the motorcycle, for shame, Zeke.

And I'm glad it makes sense and works out, Greenie... >.> I'm making up nicknames, or lordy, help. :D I always get a little worried I'm gonna toss out something that is not at all in line with what the writer's thinking, but I do like me some Lucas time. He's plenty fun to write. And with the cast of colourful characters we've got, things are gonna get awesome, I am so damned certain of that.

@Lord Wraith What's a neighbourhood in Pointe Bordeaux? Gareth needs a location for his favourite eatery, and I can't help but scroll through your Iwaku blog entries to see if you have any extensive info on PB there, but so far I've had no success :P.

Pointe Bordeaux is one of the newest developments in the Vigilance Universe and as such I don't have fully fleshed out write ups for it however I do have this...

DISTRICTS:
La Gironde
Little Cairo
Cajun Quarter
Carib Gardens
Lighthouse District

SUBURBS:
Port St. Joe
Apalachicola
St. George Island
Dog Island
St. Vincent Wildlife Refuge

For an eatery I'd recommend either the Cajun Quarter or the Carib Gardens but I don't have anything solid lol.

Probably New Orleans.

EDIT: Baton Rogue, Lafayette or Lake Charles would work as well. Lake Charles is the closest geographically to where I imagine Pointe Bordeaux being.

i actually found a nice little conveinant route anthony could use. its actually a nice little snippet of knowlege ill probably keep with me cause that just how my brain works. Route Ten conveinantly connects all the cities in a nice little chain. Mobile, southern coast of Mississippi, New orleans, Baton Rouge, and the rest. Would it be fair to say PB falls on that chain?

Seems fair as in this universe it would be at least as big as New Orleans.

Yes you have a nice 'snap' to your writing, the way Rick Allen especially was written was always refreshing. You very clearly had a sense of character with him and a clear depiction in your mind.

I mean you can google day in and day out about how to get the most of your writing but reading a flight manual doesn't ensure you can fly a plane. In my experience the only thing that gets you the most out of writing is more writing. Plus there's no point in comparing yourself to those around you, comparing yourself is more often than not going to lead to you putting your writing down and discouraging yourself. I always just look for things I like in writing and try to emulate them. I've often been told I have a natural knack for detail so I often use that to my advantage especially when it comes to GMing, but I really struggle with creating inner turmoil and conflict for my characters. Something that I've always greatly admired @Stein for. @Hillan on the other hand I've always admired for the flow his combat scenes have, they feel very much like you're right there blow for blow.

I've been RPing with both of these guys for the greater part of five years though. @Roman has always pushed me to create better characters as I find he never chooses something 'trendy' or 'easy' per say. Roman always reinvents the wheel each and every time he makes a character. If it wasn't for Roman we'd have metahumans or mutants instead of Hyperhumans.

There's numerous more RPers I could mention and brag about what they're great at but my point here is never to give up because you don't feel you're a good writer. If you have a drive to write and you're willing to learn, surround yourself with those whose writing you enjoy and eventually they'll rub off on you and who knows? Maybe they'll learn something from you too.

GAaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

....

No but really. This was really sweet.

10/10 Would/Have read again.
