In an alternate Earth, one where the ancient stories of gods, demons, and other fantastic creatures are mostly true. Many ancient deities, referred to as corporeal gods, as they walk around in physical form, interact with humans for the most part, though their state as deities makes them arrogant. They treat humans as Kings treat peasants, if not worse.
History occurred roughly as it did in this universe, though the Catholic Church never achieved religious dominance in Europe, merely in the Holy Roman Empire (northern Italy) and is a major religion in Jerusalem, as they sent many troops there to reinforce the locals several hundred years ago.
When the new world was discovered people, not all of them human, started moving there. The first city founded there was Seaside City (roughly our Boston). Once enough people were there, they declared the area to be the State of Seaside (often called "Triple S"), an independent state. It continued to grow through trade with the other colonies and the Old World, and became a major trade hub for the area, and a place where people from many cultures around the world come together.
We are all in the city, and happen to be at the docks, maybe having just got off the boat, maybe living in the city or state already, when we are stopped by a man from a local newspaper who is doing a survey. That's where our story begins.
I'll need a co-GM to do the rolls when I'm not available. Also to help me work out the exact story and tweak the stats system.
The "advanced" part is in the detail and descriptive language. Most of the posting will likely be done in meetingwords/titanpad, then transferred here. You will be the one to say what the roll does for the most part, though occasionally (you roll all sixes, chaos magic is used, etc.) I might say that something specific happened.
There is no armor/defensive magic system at present, but I do have a damage threshold based on Endurance. The buff system is basically (roll/10) points to one stat, for (roll/5) actions, with a maximum buff level of the character's END, as they can only take so much buffing before it's too much for their body.
Stats can be trained up IC, and skills can be learned by either them being taught to you by another character/NPC, you discovering it on your own through training, or you discovering it by accident as you RP. We'll roll for the first two, but for the last one I or my co-GM will tell you if you discover a new technique.
