@Lord Coake@FlaggActually, I was more thinking of the Naval Brigade in the British army during WWI; they took sailors from ships, trained them as infantry, but they retained Naval ranks, used the sailors way of speaking, and even still gave some orders that those they served beside found quite outlandish I.E. they used Naval/Nautical terms.

An Armsman or drop-ship flyer-cum-infantry guy
a la Starship Troopers is fine, but a guy who only flies and does nothing else...nicht so gut.
