We do have heavy weapons as commandos, but clone commandos rely on being able to move quickly and hide. carrying around something that requires any kind of set up just counteracts that goal. this is not to say we don't find and use automated turrets against their owners or such as it is. But typically we carry around rifles or heavy rifles at most. Commonly the DC-17 because it can do a lot. We could just invent another addition for the DC-17?

it has the carbine, sniper, anti-armour, breaching. We could add, I don't know, something that turns it into an assault rifle of some kind?

Here ginerbois. this is what clone commandos use. It was various add-ons and swappable parts to fit a variety of roles. Were just going ro invent one that turns it into a heavy assault rifle.

Though keep In mind. you have to carry a separate ammo for each addition. They don't all use the same clips.

It would be something along the lines of, giving it a longer barrel. because the DC-17 is really the size of a carbine or SMG, even though it hits a lot harder. It would give it a longer and larger barrel. Which in turn gives more powerful shots. (probably compensated by less rounds per clip) and at least in my mind. Some form of folding/collapsible stock for steadier aim.

All in all it would make it as long as say a C-7 or whatever assault rifle you can think of, give it a but and stock. and over all make it a little bulkier.
