UwU you're too kind.
Just calling it like I see it. XD But now I know your face so if I randomly see you, I'll cry out Taco. <3
I've only seen it once, but I didn't really get that feel. What's up? I need more meta and critique to keep in mind for my next viewing
Uggg.
Alright. Disclaimer first. Hawkeye/Barton was typically been sidelined/shoe horned into a 1D character. Mainly because of his lack of screen time. There have been other things about him that are not 100% accurate but over all I feel the movies had been true to character. Until CA:CW with AoU being the best for his characterization.
What CW got wrong that really bugged me? Clint blame shifting. Clint's the type of person who might do things without thinking but he always accepts responsibility for his action. It might be in a roundabout manner, but it's there. He also doesn't go out of his way to intentionally hurt people he cares about in a malicious manner nor does he derive glee from doing so. Case in point? On the Raft when he talks (or more like verbally shreds) Tony. He pins the blame of his actions (I believe 100% that Clint knew what he was getting into when he accepted Cap's plea for help. I believe he thought his actions through with
at least Laura and decided the risks were worth it) all on Tony. Somehow Tony was to blame for everything that happened to Clint. It left me going ???? Because Clint might be unintentionally cruel, but never malicious. Did you hear the pleasure he got out of that conversation? It pissed me off because it was so un-Clint-like. Now in the MCU Tony and Clint were not friends (in the same way Cap and Tony were not friends. I get that.) but Clint would never do that to someone he even marginally liked.
And the fact that Sam (of all people????) was the voice of reason on the raft irritated me. Because Sam (who I also have issues with) has never meet Tony and allowed the media to dictate his belief about the man ("Even if he wanted to help us, would the accords let him?" EVEN IF? Sam, sweetie, Tony would die for Cap. And Cap, listening to someone who never even meet Tony dictate his would be actions? Shame on you. Shaaaame.) Clint should have been the one who helped Tony and Sam should have been the one all butt hurt over everything. Because lets face it, that'd be keeping true to characterization.
/end rant
Over all I thought the movie was excellent though. It ended on a nice point and left me wanting Nomad and the Secret Avengers. <3
