Star Wars: Rogue Fleet

So, I recently had an idea for an RP that would be set a short time after Order 66 and would follow a group of rogue clones and soldiers. The story itself would center around a group of ships that are out of communication when the order is sent out, more specifically a group of Venator Class Star Destroyers. Perhaps they were crossing through a nebula and were therefore unable to communicate or receive communication from Palpatine and the main Imperial forces. Perhaps they hear the order and instead ignore it. Regardless of why they don't follow the orders, they discover just what is happening and decide that they would rather take their chances going rogue than joining the Empire. With the decision made, this rogue fleet decides to run and hide, fighting the Empire when they can and aiding the newly formed Rebellion as best as they can.

might be interested, though I think you would need to kill a B*tload of clones IC wise, just couse they are meant to follow directives and such.

I might also be interested, but you have to remember that the clones were "engineered to follow orders without question" so for these clones to defy the Empire they would have to be defective and capable of following their own free will. This has been explored in The Clone Wars TV show and it's a pretty interesting concept. Instead of an entire clone fleet it would probably make more sense to focus on one defective clone squadron.

@frapet@ZeusTheMoose Well according to the canon, every clone was installed with a control chip that was "supposedly" installed to make the clones less aggressive and independent than Jango. The chips were in fact meant to make it so all clones would follow Order 66. My thinking is that should these ships pass through a nebula or some sort of storm that causes an EMP that disables the ships, it would stand to reason that it would either damage or disable the chips. This is mostly speculation of course and something to give validity to the RP. As to the term "rogue fleet", that was more formed as I began to think of rebel ships who didn't agree with the Empire soon joining these three Venator ships. Smaller ships that don't get any bigger than an Acclamator Class. However, I suppose it could be a situation where the Republic had a small fleet that wasn't made up of just clones. Perhaps it had a 1 to 100 ratio (non-clones : clones). I'm willing to make changes so long as the core elements stay intact
